I love the LIRR's M7 Fleet. They're always fast and reliable and the cars are great
+Fuseguy is Cool And they sound good too.
Fuseguy is Cool b
Nice catches. I like those M7s with the advertisement strips on them. I think that's pretty cool.
Yes the all sound good with sound. The old stuff is the best when it comes to sound.
Thank you. I guess that's technology. The R162 subway cars make that same noise. Sort of eerie sounding. I guess I'm just old school as the classic Cosmopolitans, M2s, and Redbirds didn't sound like that.
DMs are #500-#522 and DEs are #400-422. DMs have 3rd rail arcs for Penn Station access
The M8s are quiet? That's good news. I've criticized how they look (LEGO rejects) but they're reportedly comfortable so if they're quiet than that's an additional plus. But I'll miss the classic Metropolitian/Cosmopolitan M-series trains that ran for so long. Commuter trains today just aren't built that tough and durable anymore.
You mean the R160s but yeah I could agree with you on that I love my old trains too.
For me it's been about 20 years since the last time I rode on the MTA Long Island Rail Road train.
Thanks alot! Yeah they have the M-8s beat. Sorry for the late reply.
You're right. My goof, they are the 160s. What I find ironic is that the EPA has been pushing for manufacturers to produce "quieter" trains for years. I guess some issues quiet down when it comes to multi-million dollar contracts. These things sound louder than the classic Red Birds! I can imagine how irritating that noise might be for residents living within a block of the above-ground stations. Even as a rail fan, I sure would find that "WHEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOH!" sound absolutely annoying!
Thank you I'm sorry for the late reply.
That's the motors.
What is that loud "whirring" noise this train made as it took off? I know it's not the brake shoes. Sounds more
I’m from Woodside
I wish most sounded like the R142A subway car. I don't mind the sounds any train makes at all really.
MTA LIRR Subway: Bombardier 13-G LIRR Trains at 133rd Street!

Penn Station Bound 13-G LIRR Train on Track A Coming from Big Bus Street Station and entering at 133rd Street. Then Penn Station Bound 13-G LIRR Train Leaves 133rd Street heading towards 133rd Street Manhattan as it's next and last Stop!
Yeah thake the M-8s for example you don't even hear them not even the brake release.
it's just the electric systems revving up for speed and power
This is an lirr tribute m7s at Woodside petroleum
good
I think the Silverliner Vs of septa should've been like the M7s but without the contact shows.
what's the difference between DM30ACs and DE30ACs?
It's not good to me the need noise or something. The inside of it looks good.
Nice video. How far is Long Island away from New York City?
It's about 117 miles away from Long Island (Montauk)
About an hour and a half.
