- Today's video is about the 2022 BMW M3 Competition vs 2022 BMW M4 Competition and what the differences are. I will also be saying why I chose the M4 over the M3 in comparison.

I Mean shouldn't the M4 Model have a more wider hips than the M3, cause the M3 looks way more aggressive to be honest.
M3 has always been the more aggressive looking version. I honestly don’t like how the m4 has been styled, especially the rear end… it’s just weird.

M4 looks sleeker and slightly sportier, I prefer the 2 door coupe look. But M3 More practical. Both are awesome. Single get the M4.... Have a family get the M3 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I do prefer the M3, it looks better proportioned to me and a lot more aggressive. It's rear is definitely the better of the 2 aswell.
That said the M4 is a great looking car in its own right, the side profile reminds me of an American muscle car.

The M3 looks way better to me. Same was true for the previous generation F80 vs F82. Only the E92 was better looking than the E90.

Forgot to mention the M4 is RWD and the M3 here is Xdrive. Big transmission and weight differences. Great video as usual Ylli! Need a video with mine next :)
I also prefer the M3 looks, in special because of the width and height on the back. I also prefer the 4 door coupe. But if buying one...I am a bit in doubt which one to choose...

Hips and wide body is a car guys heart! When will these manufacturers understand
1:52 min / the hips are not wider. It just appears like it because the M3 has just less space to get to the same rear position because the back doors. This reduces the space of the area of surface transition. If you check the M4 you can see the back has much more space to get to the same position and therefore the surface transition is much smoother and less ageressive but the width ist practically the same.

Had a 2 door and won't ever again. Everytime I closed the door, rear passanger needed to get out, when I let them out and jump back into the car, they're back and I need to jump out again to let them in. When I take off they can't stand the large open drivers window that channels the air directly to their face. Good old days.
You mention the noticeable wide hips of the M3 vs the M4 and said they are "so much wider". Did you measure them? Or is it just a subjective observation?
M3 over the M4 for sure, it just looks way better to me and reminds me, size wise, of the old M5s. They are almost identical in size and weight to the E39 M5.
The m3 and m4 have identical widths, it's just an illusion that the m3 looks wider

Fyi M4 has better weight distributions and M3 weights more than M4 with the same XDrive drive train

Love coupes, but I brought the g80 m3 .. just has far more presence. But both are great but , side by side m3 all day
Big fan of coupes because they look more sportier and never liked 4 door cars but lack of the wide hips of g82 m4 makes me belive that g80 m3 looks more aggresive and sportier due to wide arches. For me wide arches were always visual signature of m vs non m cars. Big disappointment for me when it comes to g82 fenders design, not big difference in arches with m440

I always preferred coupe 2 doors but think as bmws gotten bigger the m3 is looking like the better option . The hips on the m3 just leaves you staring.
The M3 rear is a half an inch wider total (so about a quarter inch each side. The rear hips start higher on the M4 and thats why it visually looks skinnier than the m3.
Next time just park them side by side : ). So you dont have to keep walking back and forth.

Both cars are the same wide, the M3 rear from the roof down needs to start a narrower distance from the centre line because to have to create a rear door. The M4 is lower by about 20mm.

this video is kinda weak man...first you compare completely diff specs. one has cosmetics meaning a carbon fiber front lip and carbon duck bill, one doesn't then you talk about how much wider the m4 is which its not. They are the same width and length. Also the same wheel base....The reason it looks that way is because Bmw cheaped out and used 340 doors on the M3 making that quarter panels not so easy on the eyes lmao. No mention of the weight differrence, no mention of the aero and roof line being 1" lower or the diff in weight distribution between the two cars. I have owned 2 g80s and now thinking about a g82 and this video didn't help me decide at all lmao.
Bmw m4 has wider rear than m3. Even on paper you can see this
The M3 and M4 do not drive the same. The M4 drives like more of a GT car whereas the M3 is a better handling car. They both weigh nearly the same and are the same size within a few mm in length, except the seating position of the driver's seat is different. The M3 handles like a smaller 4 door and the M4 handles like a larger 2 door. I went with the M3 on my F80 just for driving dynamics, perfectly balanced.
This anecdote is completely false, they have IDENTICAL components inside and out, and tuned identically. They drive the same, and if anything, the coupe has higher rigidity relative to the sedan.

BMW chicken scratched the rear of the M4.
Its been years since I got rid of my M3... I can't highlight enough how ugly todays m3/m4 front is.. WHO THE HELL DESIGNED THAT?? I know it looks like the design enable the engine to suck in ALOT of cool air for the engine but cool factor out the window
