Galli is retroactively gonna make Carno and Utah much more fun to play. It’s going to be much larger than the other skittish ‘runners’, faster too, so it has the ability to tank a little damage, and hopefully the speed to escape, while also being vulnerable to their special abilities!
galli is the least complex out of the 4 announced. also, i believe that these 4 have been worked on for a while in secret. we went from knowing little to nothing about them to now them being nearly complete on the trello. so, i don't think it's going to slow development too much. hopefully we get diablo and dilo update 7.
We need a bigger carni to kill the op stegos we need more aquatic creatures and we need more herbis to diversify the stego teno mix packs which make it impossible to hunt them making anyone who plays a carni to cannibalize everything

Fuckin finally, four new dinos coming out for the Isle. Also I don't mind the devs adding Galli into the game since I always liked playing as herbivores when I want to play as a dinosaur besides carnivores. Speaking of the four new dinos, I'm most excited for Cerato because Cerato to me is one of my favorite dinos and I feel like it's one of the most underrated dinos.
I'm somewhat active on the reddit and actively critical of the game but I'm all for an extra playable in the update. I just hope that it isn't the devs trying to compensate for not only the past updates but also the future updates, using content they would have otherwise delayed to temporarily get back good faith for one update. Pleasantly surprised about the news though, it's more than I would have expected.

It might seem like that but it turns out that UE5, which is part of the update for those who don't know, is gonna make it so things happen faster which is why they're going all out on this one
It’s not that they are adding Dinos that “would have been delayed”. It’s the update *itself* being delayed, due to the engine update, which causes the window of time that they can add things, to lengthen. Cerato and Beipi and Galli would have taken the same time to finish either way, but the update is taking so long, that they’re managing to slip into this update. It’s just that the team members, who do all the animation and sound work for new dinosaurs, aren’t ever sitting on their hands waiting on the code to be implemented, so some things get worked on regardless of the speed of other things.
@@Misto_deVito6009 Not sure how that makes any sense, updating to UE5 doesn't just do all the programming work for them. If anything it might make optimization easier but I wouldn't say it's going to fix the team's mismanagement overnight.

I don't agree with the reasoning used and I think Galli this update is a good thing, however it does represent their horrible planning when a .5 update has more content in it than the few that have come before it, arguably more content than any update they've ever made.
I used to play Legacy a whole bunch, but got tired of the slow growth time for dinosaurs. I recently reinstalled The Isle to see if the upcoming update will fix the performance issues somewhat. I currently get 15-25 fps. I’m excited for Gali. I’d like to chill with a dinosaur that grows fast and runs fast, and explore the map because everything is green and looks the same.
i feel like the updates with whole numbers are for core mechanics/systems (like gore, elder system etc) and the .5s ARE for dinos. if they add in some dinos then a mech then dinos then we get dinos...and mechs, which i think is better than being able to migrate or whatever isle dev moment^tm comes next
I really am Not a fan of the Isles development process, but adding galli doesn't really look like a negative to me. Apexes would be one thing, but galli?
Truthfully I'm happy with getting 4 dinosaurs in one update. I just worry that they may come out either incomplete, half baked, or otherwise uninteresting. I worry that they might be trying to accomplish too much at the same time. However if they can put this out and it is well received, then I suppose there's no harm with them trying to multitask.
I'm excited for deinocheirus honestly. I really hope to be able to content with spinos over territory. I feel like they should focus on making spino proper to its species, mainly focusing on a heavy fish-based diet ideally and not just some OP powerhouse like in legacy with godly health, bleed and healing abilities. But who knows considering the devs have a literal hard-on for making carnivores OP as can be despite in real life herbivores are, and undoubtedly were, some of the most powerful and dangerous animals on the face of the planet.

I agree with your assessment of the situation. It is good and a neat surprise that they announce a 4th one being added to the roster for Update 6.5. Can understand the restrain of to much hype though, especially after the Update 6 with... underwhelming results. But I think it is to be expected that they will add further playables this year! I vaguely recall something being stated that 7 playables would be "close" to be finished. I assume the release-rate will increase after that long overdue hiat of adding anything after Pachy!
I think this is a case of the community being so used to bad news that they don't know how to process good news. At first I was hesitant about galli because it might hold back the update for a while. Then I looked at the roadmap and it showed galli is in balance testing stage so this should be a good thing. Also from the way the devs were talking about ue5 it seemed as though it would be added with 6.5. In that case it will probably be the thing holding up the update.

You can never please some people. "Oh too little for one update that we waiting half a year for" "Oh how dare you put too much into one update" I think U6 was the least we got for a long period of time but every other update was fine and I reckon this coming update will be the best for a while and I have no worry that it will take too long when talks of an ST coming around soon along with the update trailer soon too, so I don't think we have too long to wait.
I agree buddy. Some people are very used to trashing on the Isle and let’s be honest, the Devs can make it very easy for people to do that. However, we should always acknowledge the good things they do and this update is def a step in the right direction.
Honestly I don't like it as much as I could because I'd prefer a medium sized herbivore to match cerato and not just a "bigger dryo". Galli is just pretty lame imo but I'd much rather it be in the game than not.
Oh hey, that's me in the second comment! I know this was three months ago, but iirc I was wary if the Isle devs could actually pull off adding 4 playables in a timely manner into a single update. They seem to struggle adding single playables to the game, so 4 felt somewhat worrying especially when troodon was known to have issues at the time. It wasn't galli that made me skeptical, it was the state of troodon. Generally, it feels like the devs bite of more than they can chew at times. Demanding perfection with such a small team and only pushing out updates when they're Perfect is what I meant by "Isle Dev Moment TM". It's worrying 'cause I like the game and want it to succeed. I think the way the devs go about things just makes it harder for themselves. To me, adding playables when they're ready in smaller, perhaps more frequent, updates just seems easier? Anyways, now that update 6.5 is out, I'm quite happy! The devs worked hard and delivered a great update. The new playables are a lot of fun and they all feel really good to play. 6.5 could be a great turning point for the game's development, I'm excited to see what the devs show us next. :] (Also, I do think it's funny that you highlighted Cola's comments in the video of all people hahaha. They're probably one of the more positive yet grounded users on the subreddit. If you crawl through the usual negative sludge that The Isle subreddit has to offer, Cola tends to be one of the users pushing back against that kind of stuff.)
I don´t see a problem with them adding Galli. Evrima can certainly do with more playables. Galli wouldn´t be my first pick for this, but I´m sure many people are excited for it. And even I can see myself having fun with the noodle neck. I also doubt that it has much influence on the updates release. Sure its more testing and fixing that needs to be done, but if they think Galli is at a development state where it can be added to the roster, I don´t mind it. That said, I can understand that people are... sceptic of this. The isles update history isnt exactly perfect. So my hope is honestly that they take their time with the upcoming stresstest to really iron out most issues before releasing the update. Because I sure as hell don´t want another half year with a barely playable version of the isle. So I´d rather get the update later rather than sooner, if it means its in a good state.
The thing is, people are starving for new update, and devs are just prolonging it constantly by adding more and more unfinished things so people are bitter as they were hoping it will already come out.
I think it was more of they were stuck on one bug and the rest of the dev team was able to get more dinos finished while the others were trying to fix said bug.
This is exactly why I look at things from both sides. People always act like the source of all the trouble are the devs, always accusing them of being toxic individuals. Now of course, its true and totally understandable, but look at now. The devs finally manage to get something good going... and the community is still doing what they do as usual. People really need to realize that their actions also affect the dev team, wich in turn affects the rest of the community.
I hope they put Sucho as soon as they can, would be good to have something to hunt Deinos(at least juvies and subs) being kind of a population control and be another option for a full Deino to hunt, maybe we would have less canni Deinos aswell

Also I completely agree with you on humans, I too couldn't care less about and don't like them adding actual humans to the game. As long as it doesn't completely change the game, I'm fine with it, but I hope humans won't destroy everything
I think that would bloat the game and reduce the impact of each release, 4 Dino's a year it's fine, one each 3 months, that way it's balanced and we can actually hype about it
I've always hated the lack of dedicated time that's put into The Isle and it's updates, but the fact that were getting four new dinos on the next update is very considerate of the devs. ESPECIALLY after that last update. The audacity of people to complain about BOTH a lack of updates and to many updates is strange to me. Would they prefer they just give the dinos to us one 7 month long update at a time?

A running joke with my friends is "NO NEW DINOS?" every time we look at the game. Im happy for 4 of them, itll make this game much less boring, especially for Stego mains just because they are almost untouchable (in my experience at least). Playing new stuff will be refreshing and the new dinos will add a new learning curve for the old ones. I can not wrap my head around the "more is bad" mantra these people are talking about. Like sure, we could have seen half this update a little sooner perhaps, but does that really matter? Its done, players who got bored and uninstalled may never come back and that will diminish the community a little. But Im sure way more people are excited for 4 dinos coming out than those that have straight up left. And besides, its not like I wont be stuck on that DAMN LOADING SCREEN, CLICKING NA SERVERS RAVONOUSLY WHILE GETTING BOOTED TO THE MAIN MENU 100 TIMES AFTER THIS DROPS ANYWAY!

I don't know if that's because of my rather chill nature, but I have a hard time getting behind the negative mindset of some people. The first comment I read under that gallimimus trail cam video was very bitter and sarcastic, and that was right after the video had been posted on the discord. I don't understand how some (and I would even extrapolate: a lot of) people's knee jerk reaction is to be that negative, especially when it's just about... a game? An indie one in early access, at that. Isn't it supposed to be there for one's entertainment among other hobbies and occupations? When I was still checking the subreddit, I saw several persons who were criticising and complaining almost all day long, every day, even if they said they had stopped playing a long time ago. If they are so fed up with the game, if they are so done waiting and waiting, why can't they find something else to do and come back when the game is at a stage they deem enjoyable for their taste? I understand that The Isle is the most promising game in its very niche category, but if you are that unsatisfied with the waiting time, you can put the game in a corner of your mind and go spend your free time on something else. There are things other than dinosaur survival games to enjoy. I don't mean to say that the game and the devs are perfect and that there is nothing that deserves to be criticised. There are definitely many things to say. But the negativity that I keep seeing appears to me as unnecessary and unreasonable, almost unhealthy. For some, it looks like their resentment for the game is the centre of their lives and I really struggle to wrap my head around that. Being that bitter and obnoxious about a hobby is not normal. I also don't mean to say that ”there are more important things in life, like having a job and a family”, or ”you need real problems in your life”, or other kinds of rather problematic statements. I think games, like music, like literature, like being interested in rocks or birds, totally has a right to be something important and valuable in your life. But it starts to get problematic when it turns you into... well, Isle redditors. It's just not good for you, and it turns the atmosphere in the community unpleasant. You can criticise, of course, you can be pessimistic and sceptical, but try to at least be a little bit reasonable. Don't just be a huge black hole of negativity and bitterness closed to points of view that don't feed the extreme negativity you are so eager to spread. No one needs that. Rationalise and relativise. Of course, like everyone, I would also prefer if the updates could come faster. But most things are not likely to happen as you want them to happen. It's just something that you have to accept. Does it mean you have to accept mediocrity no matter what? No, but I also don't think that The Isle is being mediocre.

@@Orni-Mega-Lonyx It does, but 5$ any account hack clients aren't exactly good for the game. It's more of a quantity thing, but the anticheat still works on all prior hack clients, it's just the new workarounds that are, as always, the issue.
Adding galli has NOTHING to do with the elder system and UE5. These reddit users have no idea how game development works lmao, you have people with different skills all working on different aspects of the game at the same time. Theyre not pulling people who were hired to work on coding for example off their job to work on modelling or animations, devs arent just one big pool of resources that can be allocated anywhere
Can't talk for others, but I view the Isles upcoming developments negatively because it feels so much like a sudden PR effort to get people to shut up about the various problems the Isle has, and probably will still have even if they never again take over a year (and counting) to get a new playable out, since the "new playable when" issue has been at the forefront of Isle criticism. Even with four new playables, we will still have the toxic Discord, the leadership who shielded and defended Para at first, the technical issues, the game being an active hazard to people with epilepsy, the random kissenkitten and dondi dramas, the ludicrous game design decisions, and the utterly kneecapping inability of aforementioned leadership to take criticism. I have admittedly almost completely given up hope on the Isle, and well, I guess that maybe renders my opinion moot to some. I am only still here because, well, dinosaurs are neat, and I do still like to look at trainwrecks to learn what not to do, especially with how slowly the Isle is going about it. I'd prefer if they caught themselves, and if the four new playables are their path towards that, cool, great. I don't think they'll hurt too much, in the grand scheme of things. Cerato is another dinosaur I can see people actually play, and Beipi and Galli seem like potential learning exercises into making lower tiers worthwhile. I do not think my outlook should prevent others from liking or enjoying the new playables. Just. Try not to give the devs too many breaks for finally tackling the one issue everybody was complaining the most about, and nothing else, I guess. But like, respectfully? I guess? There's a reason why I think people like me should avoid direct contact with them for the most part, haha. For both of our mental healths.
It’s the fact they are loosing players that they are pushing as many dinosaurs out as possible into one update. Which means most likely there are going to be bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. The game isn’t really playable as it is for most of the player base. People are just worried they are going to add another layer to an already buggy laggy game. They are scrambling because they realized with update 6 they messed up and a lot of players stopped playing after that. They are just trying to get their player base back. But I guess only time will tell. I hope there aren’t any bugs and the released dinosaurs are in working order but seeing how the devs were in the past doesn’t make me hopeful.

Truthfully I'm happy with getting 4 dinosaurs in one update. I just worry that they may come out either incomplete, half baked, or otherwise uninteresting. I worry that they might be trying to accomplish too much at the same time. However if they can put this out and it is well received, then I suppose there's no harm with them trying to multitask.

I'm excited for deinocheirus honestly. I really hope to be able to content with spinos over territory. I feel like they should focus on making spino proper to its species, mainly focusing on a heavy fish-based diet ideally and not just some OP powerhouse like in legacy with godly health, bleed and healing abilities. But who knows considering the devs have a literal hard-on for making carnivores OP as can be despite in real life herbivores are, and undoubtedly were, some of the most powerful and dangerous animals on the face of the planet.

I agree with your assessment of the situation. It is good and a neat surprise that they announce a 4th one being added to the roster for Update 6.5.
Can understand the restrain of to much hype though, especially after the Update 6 with... underwhelming results.
But I think it is to be expected that they will add further playables this year! I vaguely recall something being stated that 7 playables would be "close" to be finished.
I assume the release-rate will increase after that long overdue hiat of adding anything after Pachy!
I think this is a case of the community being so used to bad news that they don't know how to process good news. At first I was hesitant about galli because it might hold back the update for a while. Then I looked at the roadmap and it showed galli is in balance testing stage so this should be a good thing. Also from the way the devs were talking about ue5 it seemed as though it would be added with 6.5. In that case it will probably be the thing holding up the update.

Who the hell would complain at the fact we’re getting 4 playables? This is the biggest update since update 2. I’ll gladly look at this optimistically for once, I can’t wait to get my hands on troodon, cera, and Galli.
Edit: I am also extremely excited for Maia, it was my go-to herb in legacy. Can’t wait for it to be added to evrima.

I think U6 was the least we got for a long period of time but every other update was fine and I reckon this coming update will be the best for a while and I have no worry that it will take too long when talks of an ST coming around soon along with the update trailer soon too, so I don't think we have too long to wait.

I agree buddy. Some people are very used to trashing on the Isle and let’s be honest, the Devs can make it very easy for people to do that.
However, we should always acknowledge the good things they do and this update is def a step in the right direction.
Honestly I don't like it as much as I could because I'd prefer a medium sized herbivore to match cerato and not just a "bigger dryo". Galli is just pretty lame imo but I'd much rather it be in the game than not.

Oh hey, that's me in the second comment! I know this was three months ago, but iirc I was wary if the Isle devs could actually pull off adding 4 playables in a timely manner into a single update. They seem to struggle adding single playables to the game, so 4 felt somewhat worrying especially when troodon was known to have issues at the time. It wasn't galli that made me skeptical, it was the state of troodon.
Generally, it feels like the devs bite of more than they can chew at times. Demanding perfection with such a small team and only pushing out updates when they're Perfect is what I meant by "Isle Dev Moment TM". It's worrying 'cause I like the game and want it to succeed. I think the way the devs go about things just makes it harder for themselves. To me, adding playables when they're ready in smaller, perhaps more frequent, updates just seems easier?
Anyways, now that update 6.5 is out, I'm quite happy! The devs worked hard and delivered a great update. The new playables are a lot of fun and they all feel really good to play. 6.5 could be a great turning point for the game's development, I'm excited to see what the devs show us next. :]
(Also, I do think it's funny that you highlighted Cola's comments in the video of all people hahaha. They're probably one of the more positive yet grounded users on the subreddit. If you crawl through the usual negative sludge that The Isle subreddit has to offer, Cola tends to be one of the users pushing back against that kind of stuff.)
I don´t see a problem with them adding Galli. Evrima can certainly do with more playables. Galli wouldn´t be my first pick for this, but I´m sure many people are excited for it. And even I can see myself having fun with the noodle neck. I also doubt that it has much influence on the updates release. Sure its more testing and fixing that needs to be done, but if they think Galli is at a development state where it can be added to the roster, I don´t mind it.
That said, I can understand that people are... sceptic of this.
The isles update history isnt exactly perfect. So my hope is honestly that they take their time with the upcoming stresstest to really iron out most issues before releasing the update. Because I sure as hell don´t want another half year with a barely playable version of the isle.
So I´d rather get the update later rather than sooner, if it means its in a good state.
The thing is, people are starving for new update, and devs are just prolonging it constantly by adding more and more unfinished things so people are bitter as they were hoping it will already come out.
I think it was more of they were stuck on one bug and the rest of the dev team was able to get more dinos finished while the others were trying to fix said bug.
Thing is galli is already as complete as the other dinos. They'd know that if they were in discord
This is exactly why I look at things from both sides. People always act like the source of all the trouble are the devs, always accusing them of being toxic individuals. Now of course, its true and totally understandable, but look at now. The devs finally manage to get something good going... and the community is still doing what they do as usual. People really need to realize that their actions also affect the dev team, wich in turn affects the rest of the community.
I hope they put Sucho as soon as they can, would be good to have something to hunt Deinos(at least juvies and subs) being kind of a population control and be another option for a full Deino to hunt, maybe we would have less canni Deinos aswell

I've always hated the lack of dedicated time that's put into The Isle and it's updates, but the fact that were getting four new dinos on the next update is very considerate of the devs. ESPECIALLY after that last update. The audacity of people to complain about BOTH a lack of updates and to many updates is strange to me. Would they prefer they just give the dinos to us one 7 month long update at a time?

A running joke with my friends is "NO NEW DINOS?" every time we look at the game. Im happy for 4 of them, itll make this game much less boring, especially for Stego mains just because they are almost untouchable (in my experience at least). Playing new stuff will be refreshing and the new dinos will add a new learning curve for the old ones. I can not wrap my head around the "more is bad" mantra these people are talking about.
Like sure, we could have seen half this update a little sooner perhaps, but does that really matter? Its done, players who got bored and uninstalled may never come back and that will diminish the community a little. But Im sure way more people are excited for 4 dinos coming out than those that have straight up left. And besides, its not like I wont be stuck on that DAMN LOADING SCREEN, CLICKING NA SERVERS RAVONOUSLY WHILE GETTING BOOTED TO THE MAIN MENU 100 TIMES AFTER THIS DROPS ANYWAY!

I’d prefer they all be released at the same time, but it absolutely better be all flushed out and it better be released by mid April. Any huge bugs and I’m done with this buggy ass game forever. Also yeah, definitely a certified isle dev moment.
I don't know if that's because of my rather chill nature, but I have a hard time getting behind the negative mindset of some people. The first comment I read under that gallimimus trail cam video was very bitter and sarcastic, and that was right after the video had been posted on the discord. I don't understand how some (and I would even extrapolate: a lot of) people's knee jerk reaction is to be that negative, especially when it's just about... a game? An indie one in early access, at that. Isn't it supposed to be there for one's entertainment among other hobbies and occupations?
When I was still checking the subreddit, I saw several persons who were criticising and complaining almost all day long, every day, even if they said they had stopped playing a long time ago. If they are so fed up with the game, if they are so done waiting and waiting, why can't they find something else to do and come back when the game is at a stage they deem enjoyable for their taste? I understand that The Isle is the most promising game in its very niche category, but if you are that unsatisfied with the waiting time, you can put the game in a corner of your mind and go spend your free time on something else. There are things other than dinosaur survival games to enjoy.
I don't mean to say that the game and the devs are perfect and that there is nothing that deserves to be criticised. There are definitely many things to say. But the negativity that I keep seeing appears to me as unnecessary and unreasonable, almost unhealthy. For some, it looks like their resentment for the game is the centre of their lives and I really struggle to wrap my head around that. Being that bitter and obnoxious about a hobby is not normal. I also don't mean to say that ”there are more important things in life, like having a job and a family”, or ”you need real problems in your life”, or other kinds of rather problematic statements. I think games, like music, like literature, like being interested in rocks or birds, totally has a right to be something important and valuable in your life. But it starts to get problematic when it turns you into... well, Isle redditors. It's just not good for you, and it turns the atmosphere in the community unpleasant. You can criticise, of course, you can be pessimistic and sceptical, but try to at least be a little bit reasonable. Don't just be a huge black hole of negativity and bitterness closed to points of view that don't feed the extreme negativity you are so eager to spread. No one needs that. Rationalise and relativise.
Of course, like everyone, I would also prefer if the updates could come faster. But most things are not likely to happen as you want them to happen. It's just something that you have to accept. Does it mean you have to accept mediocrity no matter what? No, but I also don't think that The Isle is being mediocre.

I play PoT and sometimes when they release multiple dinos it's cool at first then gets stale. And if you release so many thing it COULD mean than it will be a long time til a new dino comes out. I feel that they should 2 now and in like 1 or 2 months release another 2 so it extends the excitment.

(Imo can't blame it with alllll the history of the game) But these reddit posts feel like when a kid tries to weigh in on a complex ethics or political discussion without knowing what their really saying. Kind of like they're being negative just to be like "yes yes I too am part of the community! This is what we do, right?". I'm excited for this update. Though with a healthy dose of caution but not that weird negativity.

It's more of a quantity thing, but the anticheat still works on all prior hack clients, it's just the new workarounds that are, as always, the issue.

Adding galli has NOTHING to do with the elder system and UE5. These reddit users have no idea how game development works lmao, you have people with different skills all working on different aspects of the game at the same time. Theyre not pulling people who were hired to work on coding for example off their job to work on modelling or animations, devs arent just one big pool of resources that can be allocated anywhere
Alot of the people on the reddit are those who have been banned from the official discord, so no wonder they're gonna be negative.
Can't talk for others, but I view the Isles upcoming developments negatively because it feels so much like a sudden PR effort to get people to shut up about the various problems the Isle has, and probably will still have even if they never again take over a year (and counting) to get a new playable out, since the "new playable when" issue has been at the forefront of Isle criticism. Even with four new playables, we will still have the toxic Discord, the leadership who shielded and defended Para at first, the technical issues, the game being an active hazard to people with epilepsy, the random kissenkitten and dondi dramas, the ludicrous game design decisions, and the utterly kneecapping inability of aforementioned leadership to take criticism.
I have admittedly almost completely given up hope on the Isle, and well, I guess that maybe renders my opinion moot to some. I am only still here because, well, dinosaurs are neat, and I do still like to look at trainwrecks to learn what not to do, especially with how slowly the Isle is going about it. I'd prefer if they caught themselves, and if the four new playables are their path towards that, cool, great. I don't think they'll hurt too much, in the grand scheme of things. Cerato is another dinosaur I can see people actually play, and Beipi and Galli seem like potential learning exercises into making lower tiers worthwhile.
I do not think my outlook should prevent others from liking or enjoying the new playables. Just. Try not to give the devs too many breaks for finally tackling the one issue everybody was complaining the most about, and nothing else, I guess. But like, respectfully? I guess? There's a reason why I think people like me should avoid direct contact with them for the most part, haha. For both of our mental healths.

It’s the fact they are loosing players that they are pushing as many dinosaurs out as possible into one update. Which means most likely there are going to be bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.
The game isn’t really playable as it is for most of the player base. People are just worried they are going to add another layer to an already buggy laggy game.

They are scrambling because they realized with update 6 they messed up and a lot of players stopped playing after that. They are just trying to get their player base back.
But I guess only time will tell. I hope there aren’t any bugs and the released dinosaurs are in working order but seeing how the devs were in the past doesn’t make me hopeful.
