In my opinion, the Maldives archipelago is overrated. We have a Lakshadeep archipelago that has exact landscape characteristics of Maldives but lacks a professional tourism attitude and implementation. We need to promote Lakshadeep (which is parallel to Kochi) with international standards of infrastructure in tourism. Lakshadeep doesn't even have a standard quality airport, nor has it an adequate transport system for its international tourists. So pity.
