I like the Pugh/Dunn combo better. ya ohai has played with crystal before but mallory and crystal seem to have that speed factor and pugh can deliver better. my opinion tho. thx for the upload

Can someone tell me why we are always playing mediocre teams. I mean none of the team we have played in the friendlies are even in the top 10 in FIFA rankings. Anytime we play some of these teams like Haiti, Romania we tend to score a lot of goals giving the false impression that some of the players are good as advertised. We were at this point prior to the Olympics when Jill Ellis had to bring up player to replace those that had retired or could not join team for other reasons. Again against the teams we played in the friendlies and in the qualifying rounds the results were a lot of goals with the mediocre teams but with the one team ranked in the top ten 10, Canada, and the USWNT had there troubles scoring. With Mexico a none top ten team that employed the bunker style defense that we faced and could not overcome in the Olympics. Mexico ranked 27th in the FIFA Rankings. Yes the new players look good playing in these games against the national teams we played in the friendlies but I have to do a reality check and remind myself that we are not playing teams that pose any kind of scoring threat or even provide much of a defense against the USWNT The first test will be in the She believes Tournament to see if these players are for real or just look good because of the quality of the teams we play in the friendlies. Lets see what happens with the new players when they play the Top teams at this level.
Williams and Ohai both had stellar seasons in the NWSL, but have yet to be proven or tested in competitive play on the USWNT. Alex is on the cusp right now. I really don't think she has been right since her last injury. I don't think it is physical, I think it is a mental aspect she needs get behind her. The transition period and the angle that Ellis has taken (a much needed change), has made this more apparent. Dunn and Press are playing their best game ever, and they seem to be taking control of their roles. Morgan is going to have to fight for a starting spot, and there is more pressure coming from the U-20.
The thing is that yes Press and Dunn deserve the chance to play but they haven't played a top notch team yet. Alex always steps up in the matches she's needed and that's why I would lean more towards Alex as the #9. She's mobile and she can play with anyone alongside her. Heath is the obvious answer as a winger. Press might be playing amazing soccer but there's technically only room for another winger. If Lloyd stays healthy she will be that AM leaving only one flank open and I think that might go to Dunn. Dunn has been the difference the majority of the games. I saw the game live in San Jose and I can tell you for certain that Ohai might come off the bench. She was so up close I could see how hard she worked and the great connection she had with the rest of the team. The partnership up front might be Morgan Dunn in a 4-4-2 with Press and Ohai coming off the bench. As long as the team plays well I'm all up for giving everyone a chance!☺️
+Jennifer Nunez press and heath have chemistry on the field now so it would be a huge mistake to not play them at this point. press and dunn are pretty good too. it seems like morgan lost alot of chemistry with the team on break and such and it needs to be worked on before the next WC. people say morgan comes through with higher ranked teams but I think its embarrassing she hasnt come through during these cupcake teams. also she had some great passes from heath press dunn and etc and yet still missed so the argument that players werent serving her great balls is automatically cancelled for this game. I want morgan and press to work on their chemistry bc I do believe those two on the field would be killer against every team of any rank
