I was a GM person, until my wife bought a 2007 Jeep Commander with a 5.7 Hemi. Now I'm Mopar or no car. Have 4 Hemi vehicles in the family. The Commander, 2007 Charger SRT Super Bee 6.1, 2016 RAM 5.7 and finally a 2022 Durango SRT 6.4. It's a real shame how Dodge is going out. Really pisses me off.
Thanks for sharing the story about how you got your Demon. So cool to see how everything has evolved for you over the years. Like you, I get emotionally attached to my vehicles, and to this day, I miss my 2010 Detonator Yellow Challenger SRT8. I have followed you since the Challenger Talk forum days, and saw how you in my opinion, really helped Dodge evolve the Challenger platform through the things you did with your R/T Challenger. Keep leading the way. You’re the real Donut Maker. 👍🏻
Thanks Tim . The Mopar Community is very grateful for all your hard work all these years. I liked the challenger when it came out but didn’t get excited about buying one until the Hellcat came out so bought a 2016 . I don’t see myself buying another Dodge or Stellantis since Tim isn’t around anymore.
OOOHHHH, My sentiments to you and your Hellcat. Just the small glimps of what they found made me feel "What if I found my R/T that I have put heart into". If I found her like that, I wound be balling my eyes out in tears.
What a great story! Glad you were able to obtain another car. I wish I could afford a Demon... I do still have my baby Demon 1320 which I love so I understand your passion and attachment to your car.
Im happy for you man. This isnt the first time TK stepped up for a customer. He did this for my buddy a few years ago after he had a string of bad QC issues with his brand new HC. I think it was a 2018 car. All kinds of problems. TK helped get another one and get his swapped out for a good one. No lemon law needed.
I think that Tim might be the first CEO in history to end up with a "following", depending on where he pops up next. I know I'll be looking too where he ends up. I would like it if he ended up at Chevy, So many ways to go retro.
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR OTHER CAR BROTHER BUT , SO GLAD TO SEE YOU HAPPY IN THAT DEMON 170 , AND TIM IS SÚCH A AWESOME GUY , REAL CAR GÚY AND HELPS EVERYONE HE CAN 💯👍👏👏👏
Speedy, Rich Scotto here.... I'm with you 100% on the fact that Stellanis (Sp?) is not in touch with the American car market and the American performance car enthusiast. Killing off the Challenger and only keeping the Charger name is head scratching. Yes, the '68, '69 and '70 Chargers are iconic, but the Challenger is not slouch from a historical perspective. 6 cylinder twin turbo - to me screams "Europe" - I immediately think BMW M series. Charger hatchback - again Hatchback to me screams "Europe" - BMW 6 series. I get the whole CAFE requirements and the smaller motors with turbos for power on demand make those requirements easier to meet, but IMO if Ford can keep a V-8 in the Mustang and successfully navigate the CAFE requirements, Stallanis could do the same if they wanted to. As an engineer (and I know you're one too) we enjoy the challenge of doing the difficult. A V-8 to meet CAFE is not unattainable. As for the retirements.... I can see where you have a bunch of enthusiasts who are tired of fighting the brass, tired of not being listened to or heard and just say, "it's time" and they retire. Looking forward to seeing you at Beech Bend!
Thanks for sharing your story, I've been wondering. Glad it worked out for you. Sad for Tim, I believe he had to sell his sole or get out. Glad he chose the latter, but I expect his phone is ringing a lot.
Hey Speedy, I knew when Go Man Go met it's untimely fate that God had bigger plan's for you! Just want to say again Congratulations 🎊 Also I think that Stelantis bought Dodge to kill it. It's just a write off for them! By what there doing they don't give a damn about what Dodge really is and who we are. Looking forward to the 170 Content.
Great story and thank you for sharing. I've been curious about the back story on your Demon170. I'm extremely happy for ya and glad you were able to get one without the crazy ADM! I'll be watching to see where Tim ends up or maybe he'll just ride off into the sunset in his personal 1 of 1 Demon. Personally I'm a fan of EV's and my wife drives a Pacifica Hybrid S which is great for local errands with a 35 mile range but that's it. There's still a lot of work to be done with EVs and until then I'll continue to drive my Trackhawk. Anyways keep the great videos coming. Love ur channel 🙌💪
After watching your video, and the video posted by Reignited, i think you all are onto something. I agree with the thought that Stellantis doesn't know, or care much about the American vehicle markets. Sure some people want fancy golf carts, or little tiny cars that resemble the 'penny racer' cars we had as kids. But i also think you're right in the thought that most of the people who want those have already bought them. Look at Ford with their Blue Oval battery plant in Glendale Ky, built 1/2 of what they planned, then put the rest on hold.....🤔 I'll keep my dodges, and jeeps as long as possible. We got a '20 Challenger RT Scat Pack last October, nowhere near 707, or 1025 hp, but absolutely love it along with our Charger RT's.
What a shame to see him go, hopefully they get their heads out of their ass before it's to late. Glad to see you enjoying your car. I just bought my first Hellcat at 67 and enjoy it every day. Looking forward to doing more mods and taking it to the track where it belongs.
They did some cool things while they could. My Hellcat was a fun car to own and I'm glad that I had the opportunity. My wife loves her Trackhawk. I wish we could buy another one to store until hers dies because I know whatever will be available when it's time to buy will just be disappointing.
Never pay a mark up ! Paying MSRP is bad enough ! That said I wanted to buy a 2020 Camaro SS but there was a shortage of inventory as in none., then what was around was marked up . That turned me onto another Challenger, this time a scat pack. Wow, what a awesome automobile that I've had for 3 1/2 years ! That said, Dodge is done like dinner, maybe GM will bring back the fearsome T/A ? PS: May I suggest a aftermarket oil pan or a dry sump oil system ? Mopar has the oil pan sump in the front of the engine, guess where the oil goes when you do a wheelie off the line.
If dodge came out with a Cuda and made it in the same engines the Challenger comes in now, they would be ok. Ditch the electric stuff altogether. Nobody wants that junk. The elecric stuff needs about 20 more years to get the infrustructure in place and to get the range better. If they could somehow allow the cars to regenerate the batteries and never need to charge, they would be ok.
Figures I'm late to the party as the saying goes. I've been mostly a GM owner ( with only a few Ford and Toyotas ) since I bought my first car back in 1973 as a senior in highschool. At age 69 I've owned a total of 38 four wheeled vehicles ( new and used) since then. I finally decided to go with a Dodge as , quite frankly, I'd had enough of GMs poorly built, front wheel drive offerings and bad quality trucks. I bought my first brand new Dodge , a 2023 Scat pack 1320, in June of '23. I realized it was not such a good daily driver and sold it. I now have another new 2023 Dodge, a Charger RT Daytona. Love this car! And now, as I'm just getting my feet wet with the Mopar community, looks like Dodge it circling the drain. Geez, my timing sucks!
That's great they caught those guys when my 22 jailbreak was stolen in September of 23 I was like you it took me 3 weeks before I found another one I could get wish I had tim call me lol but congrats on the new one like you am very passionate about my car hope to see you out there
I think stellantis doesn't have the true American heart to continue with the all American hemi or dodge.....stellantis is just looking at their corporate paychecks and no knowledge of a true all American vehicle......someone needs to save dodge and send stellantis back to the electric crap hole with their over seas cheap junk😮
Speedy keep that dodge for as long as possible. Such a shame that the "bad boy" company folded like a lawn chair and turned their american bad ass muscle to a hippy tesla ev.
We own two hellcat's.. 2022 charger wide body and a 2017 challenger. We love our hot rods and we are so pissed over what has happened with the brand. Turning into a brotherhood of dip sh#&$!! Maybe Tim will end up at ford.
Kind of what I thought, since he's a 'muscle car guy', and all that's left on that front is the mustang......we have several dodges and jeeps, and it's been a sad play out for Dodge for awhile now. Hopefully Mercedes or Porsche will buy the brand after the weenies bottom it out. I think when Mercedes bought Dodge(Diamler Chrysler) is when the brand started a resurgence. The only V8' we had were the 5.2 and 5.9 in the ram trucks until they brought the challenger, then charger and 300C back. Fingers crossed that a company who understands what American muscle cars are will step in soon.
If Stellantis is shopping China, as much as I dislike China, if they do buy the company and invest in new products then I could live with that. The improved Volvo, but maybe TATA would be interested in the Chrysler Group. TATA owns Jaguar Range Rover.
Dodge had been a unique company til Stellantis took over. Tim knowing who you were-says everything and then him taking an interest in getting you a Demon is unheard of in todays corporate environment. And Stellantis made Tim want to leave. Dodge as we have known it is gone Stellantis is kaput. Hornet? in line 6 Ram? GTFOH
Stellantis isn't stupid. They simply are dumping the performance Dodge to pursue the EV and small car market in Europe / China. My guess is they have been paid a lot of money by the governments to be the leader in driving this type of production / sales since others are dropping the EV line. Tim was no longer needed so he was convinced to retire.
@@SpeedysGarage as of April there were 11 reported demon 170 engine failures and 7 more at the dealer getting assessed all having significant metal shavings in the oil according to a few different TH-camrs.
Yes he was forcibly retired for not playing with the communist Atlantis very well. Has anyone ever set back and ask themselves how a foreign company likes to lantus purchased an American company lake Dodge who was behind it and who okayed it. The American people did not okay it. We don't have to allow for an interest to destroy our country we need to unite.
Scorched cranks and spun bearings are the 170 future...best be careful. Mopar warranty will be NON EXISTENCE.. you'll get a 7-Eleven engineer when you want warranty
We are literally the last few people Tim personally got Demon’s before he bowed out
Hope to see you at an event with yours.

Rip Dodge. I'm so glad I got a redeye challenger, TRX and HC Durango. I'm set and will keep em forever.
Your thinking is right on the money. Dodge is going to be gone in the next several years.
Great video.
Sad about Tim.
Hope Dodge will save the brand?
Love your channel and all the detailed information I learn here. Thank you, Speedy!
Thanks for always following a long.
Great story! I hope he gets some people together and buys Dodge!
That would be cool to rip off Dodge from Stellantis. If only I had some Elon Musk type cash.

I think I'm done with Dodge unless something major changes for the better. I'm really tired of our American companies getting sold off.
Agreed. I'm thinking about what's next.
They should try building something people want instead of forcing $80K meme barges down out throats...

I think Tim and some of buddy’s should start a New Company made call it (American Motors) just spitballin!
yes
He retired cuz he knows what the outcome will be with dodge and ram. Leave on good terms while the ppl still like you.
Dodge will fall just as the Tucker 48
What a shameful act to Americans
