I hope some one has tried this set up and can tell me if you can thread with this set up . I have almost the identical set and can not thread . I can program speed and direction but am unable to sync the spindle with the z axis . If anyone has been able to thread with this setup I would really like to hear about it.
How do u control servo for both velocity and position mode?. Example m3 to on/fwd spindle and s1500 to spin st 1500 rpm for velocity mode. For positioning mode, such ss rotary axis how you tell the servo spindle to work accordingly?

I use these servos for about 3 months. In terms of performance and quality, I still have no complaints about the Lichuan motors. I am assembling a CNC milling machine now, and again I am going to use Lichuan servo as a spindle. I advise you to contact Lichuan with Rony (rony@xlichuan.com), a sales manager, she can give a good discount.
I have not found such software on the Lichuan website. As far as I understand, all settings are made manually by changing parameters in the B2 servo drive. And B2 has detailed user manual in English.

I have a C10 board (CNC4PC) and use Mach3 and parallel port. Will this servo drive work with my set? Could you explain how to configure this? Or create a video? Thanks
It is easy to connect the step and direction signals, but not the fault and enable signals. Note also that Mach3 cannot use the encoder for threading or other lathe functions like Mach4 and the PoKeys can.
@@EgorKhokhlachev You could use a servo on an spindle with Mach3, but you will be able to control it using step and direction signals only, you will not be able to read the encoder feedback from the servo and use it to sync the Z axis. That is what you can do with Mach4 and the PoKeys.
CNC4pc Thanks, I got it. If I do not want unnecessary problems, then I have to go the way of more modern hardware and software. As I see from the current video, this path is already exists. I just need to make some investments and forget about the headache with Mach3 and parallel port. I think it's worth it. Thank you!

Check out the Acorn Board. It has encoder input for a spindle.

I'm about to try this on my harbor freight 7x10 lathe. I am using a szgh controller instead of Mach but it should be about the same.

Does PoKeys allow threading on Mach4 with the servo used on step-dir mode? I had to switch to velocity mode only for this.

Hello from Thailand. With this setup. In order to cut thread. Do you still need the lathe stock timing gears or just use stepping from servo spindle?
No, you do not. need any gears. Everything is setting up from software. Mach4 in this case
