I just found your channel. Literally obsessed! I hope you’re still In the business. I’ll be binge watching all day today!! Thank you for all your insight and transparency! I just did a POA yesterday but thankfully through a signing service lol
I did my very first signing last week and man did I undercharge , for a poa, will and deed I only charged 10.00 per stamp my travel fee was only 10.00 plus this was after hours. I was so excited to finally get a call I really shorted myself on top of when I finally got there had to wait for them to get there affairs in order I ended up waiting there 2 hours only charged 40.00 total but glad my tip came to 75.00 total but that was definitely a lesson learned. And that poa did seem fishy man I wish I would have saw this video first and went with my first instinct
In California, you need signer's Thumbprint in the journal for Power of Attorneys, or other documents that affect real property (e.g. real estate dealings). Not only that, you can't have "proof of execution by substitution" with someone else - the risk is too great.
@@RightONTymeNotaryLLCHarris, I’m curious. I’m a brand new notary in California. Just did my first notarization, a POA, this week on Tuesday. I think you’re in Texas. I’m only allowed by the state to charge a $15 fee for POA. I can charge whatever I want as a travel fee though. In this video you stated your fee was $160 to do this POA. If you don’t mind, how much of that was your travel fee? In Texas are you able to set your own notarization fee? Lastly, what are your thoughts on collecting your travel fee as soon as you meet the client, THEN proceed with the notarization and collect the notarization fee once notarization has been completed? Are you allowed to do that? That seems like a way to not have to beg for your travel fee should the situation be found to be sketchy so you can hightail it out of there quickly.
@@RightONTymeNotaryLLCHarris You’re so inspirational. I didn’t put a lot of effort last time, because I was working 9 to 5. Now, you are my online mentor in my head. Have you done a vid on pricing? Not to tell all your business but just what are things newbies can charge for above the notary fee. I just read there was a max each state allows for the actual notary. Did not remember that.
@@ursularenee3721 in Texas there is no max cap you can charge, no one can tell what it takes what it cost to manage your mobile notary business to keep it running, I agree you can’t be out charging 120.00 travel fees but again some notaries do you will be surprised. But on another note for example if someone needs one affidavit signed I will charge 6.00 for the stamp and the $1.00 for the notarization, now my travel fee will be about 35.00 to 65.00 depending on the time all that matters you have to look at it from a buisness perspective as far as time as well, if you are contacting me after 6pm that is fee because that is a convience fee, where else will find a notary after 6pm… Good luck buddy in finding one after that time.
