I agree with adamyounghusband100 - this is not a pure Red Golden pheasant. Males do not have a red crest; they have a golden-yellow crest. They also don't have a black and white ruff - it is black and orange. Lastly, the legs / feet of this specimen is green. It suppose to be yellow to a fleshy red. We might come across as poindexters but as a result of irresponsible breeding in captivity, both the Golden Pheasant and the Lady Amherst Pheasant is riddled with bad blood lines of hybrid birds. This is making pure Goldens and Amhersts very hard to come by and with their natural habitat being destroyed, we should be concerned as stewards of the Earth.
Came here to listen to a red pheasant call. Eventually grew frustrated with the whistle click thing the person recording continues to do, constantly... incessantly... Maybe better to rename the video to reflect what's actually on it.

That's a hybrid - a Golden Pheasant/Lady Amherst Pheasant cross.
