I now question some play calls by Ben Johnson in that Washington game. Our running was working yet we had to resort to making ridiculous throws. Oh he went to the Bears in hopes of easy wins against us.

@David-w9i7j How old are you? I'm asking because there is no sense in what you said. This. Is. The. N.F.L. Are you going to hire college coaches to run your franchise? This happens every year. You got to be in middle school or something.
@@angelcamacho217 taxes are due every year in April as well, and Is still don't have to like it. Why can't teams wait till February to start interviewing coaches? This would eliminate any impression of conflict of interest as we have here.
The team played on both sides like they knew both coaches were leaving. They were more interested in doing interviews than preparing for the playoff game. I’m going to say both BJ and AG will only last 2, maybe 3 yrs. But I trust Dan and Brad to find suitable replacements.
I hope Dan Campbell learned his lesson about trying to be too friendly with his employees. He should have never allowed these guys to go do interviews while we're prepping for the most important game in Detroit Lions history. And this is the reason why distractions. Ben Johnson knew he was safe he knew he had a job lined up so he didn't care anymore and it's almost like he didn't want to win the Super Bowl because he knew he was leaving. He knew he would have been attached to the Detroit Lions if he would have won a Superbowl this year. I believe he purposely tank that game now so he can make it seem like hey it was a decent season but everything has to come to an end instead of seeing the confetti raining down and everyone praising all the coordinators and all the coaches and all the players for the Lions, he probably felt like he would have been emotionally attached to Detroit if he would have won the Super Bowl. So he purposely sabotage the game that way he can just up and leave and go to his new job
In a world of professional sports, loyalty is a double-edged sword. Ben Johnson serves as a poignant example of this. While Campbell was supportive of Johnson’s aspirations-and efforts to mentor Johnson showing him the ropes as HC and most things OC's don't see as HC, discussions were taking place behind closed doors between Johnson and representatives from our rival franchise Chicago. This situation serves as a cautionary tale about loyalty in professional sports.. Campbell need to reassess his approach to loyalty within his coaching staff. Dan Campbell has to learn to protect his own interests as head coach first. While loyalty is an admirable trait in leadership, it must be tempered with caution to prevent individuals from taking advantage of those emotions..
Seems like winning the top seed and getting that bye week actually cost us the game because it allowed Ben to talk to other teams versus game planning for the commanders.
He was checked out when we played Saturday - Building his team. How can you not be checked out and thinking of YOUR OWN future. Good luck but you won't have it better then our owner here and or culture. You can't build something somewhere else if you TRULY don't have the entire operation in on the buy in.
Commanders fan here- Ben Johnson was a canidate for our HC job last year but dissed us calling us "basketball guys" and we got our revenge! I'm glad we went with Dan Quinn instead.
You can thank Dallas for all 5 guys you all stole from us see Washington tried this before when they stole Norv Turner and a bunch of our players in the 90s. See y'all at the bottom after Philly Molly Whops y'all
No DOUBT! I live in the DMV and been thinking that this was a revenge game. I was correct. My Lions coordinators heads were dreaming of signing for a head coach position. They didn't have our offensive nor defense ready. I really like Jayden. He is so charismatic and have such a good heart. Congratulations on the awesome victory.
Jesus Christ. This is pathetic. Be appreciative for the multiple seasons of actually watchable football that you got because of Ben Johnson, and wish him well. Then tell him you can't wait to beat his ass twice a year. Then get over it.
At first, I was a combined surprised and angry. Now, I'm laughing at Ben Johnson's choice. Here's why Ben Johnson will fail within 3 years: Johnson is only an ideas man, a creative type. Dan Campbell is a structure builder. Johnson needs something already in place to improve it. He's not able to start something from scratch. He's also going to a team with its head up its ass. Couldn't build a Lego ship with proper directions. So, while your anger is justified, he's actually doing us a favor because he'll disable the Bears until they fire him.
And Ben Johnson isn't really vocal and he's not like that hyped up guy like Dan Campbell is. I don't believe Ben Johnson has the makeup to like lead grown men, he looks more passive and reserved in the guy that sits in the corner and just doesn't say much. And we all know if you're going to be a head coach in the NFL you have to be loud you have to be obnoxious you have to be confident and tough. You can't be this little skinny scaredy cat dude sitting in the corner with your mouth zipped
@@Harold-w2yyeah but he intentionally game planned to lose to Washington, you can't convince anyone otherwise after deciding to throw the ball 40+ times against a team with the 3rd worst run defense! Now I would've totally understood him abandoning the run early if our offense went 3 and out in the first 3 drives and they stopped our running game in those drives going up 21-0, but no we were running down their throats and abandoned the run after 3 drives after being down only 10-7!
@brandonreder9869 you don't know what plays were called and if Goff changed any of them. I will say that Goff made bad decisions with the ball and some poor throws. Johnson made some questionable calls but that's part of the game and a veteran quarterback should overcome.
Betrayed? Traitor?!?! Let's not go down this road. Ben Johnson gave all his best efforts to this team. He is a Lions coordinator who showed enough promise to be hired away by another team. Would have preferred he go to a team not in our division, but I am happy for him. Seeing him go to be the head coach of another team is just the next step in the Lions franchise development. Has this happened before, a Lions coordinator got hired away as a head coach? I don't think so. Next year this team will come back with a healthy defense and some new blood from the draft. Brad Holmes and MCDC have a built a team to compete. Too many injuries this year. When Robertson went out it was just one too many guys gone from the defense.
I would normally say that you're just being both paranoid and bitter but seeing as how fast Ben Johnson not only took the Bears job but had key members of his staff already in place, it's not a stretch to say that Johnson's mind was on his next venture & barely invested in the Lions SuperBowl run
Both coordinators were traitors. *The NFL should make a rule that 0 staff members are allowed to converse with other teams (of other leagues too, not just the NFL) via ANY medium about potential jobs!!!*
I thought that as well, Ben was terrible as was Goff vs Washington. Now hearing he was in contact most every day since his interview. TBH I dont think AG or Johnson were in the game. The NFL needs to block interviewing til after the Super Bowl. This was BS.
Doesn't do us any good now if NFL changes the rules. Too late for Lions we always get screwed because the NFL hates the Lions even though they are their money maker
Thank you. I totally agree with you. We will get someone better. Best owner and GM . I trust your opinions and appreciate your videos man. Thank you. Go Lions!!
What pro league other than the NFL that holds interviews for available head coach positions during the playoffs? If the Lions had advanced to the Super Bowl in February 2025, the Bears may not have waited for Ben Johnson.
Just sent a donation. Great analytical job. You were so right, David yesterday, so analytical why the Lions lost the last game. It was because of GREED, DECEIT, AND DELIBERATE SABATAGE FROM BEN JOHNSON! Thank you for your service to our country, and God Bless you and Derrick from Lion's s Syndicate!
Lions lost because of their defense. Johnson wanted to win as much as any coach on the field. I don’t even blame Goff. Defense couldn’t stop Washington and they played mistake free football.
The biggest things that Ben Johnson won't be taken with him or Jameer Gibbs and Montgomery. And he doesn't have the same offensive line so if he thinks he's going to go into Chicago and just replicate what he did in Detroit he's going to have some reality checks coming here soon
Im not even a Lions fan and I'll say this, he could have at least used some vaseline. Damn Horrible look from Saturdays debacle and now knowing he was already assembling a staff?? Ouch
😆 I'm a Lion's fan and I'm also glad he got the fu#$ out of dodge. He cost us the game because he was interviewing for head coaching jobs. Good riddance. I doubt he will be a good head coach in Chitown. He'll be out of there before the next presidential election in 2028.😆
Last time I checked Lions scored 31 and defense allowed 45 after five offensive turnovers (three on Goff) 😅😂 But sure blame the OC in the booth - The only coaching gaffe I saw was the Jamo Pass
@@chrisrakow9745 Dude! You obviously didn't watch the same game. The OC was on the sidelines in the action and not in the booth. Learn the game and research before making an ignorant comment. You're not a Lions fan.
@ Dude, we didn't watch the same game. OC and DC cost us more than Goff. They did not have their teams ready. No one is blaming cat. We lost. I own that. When you analyze you see what happened. You are not an analyst sir.
Makes me wonder if he took a bit of heat for the loss Saturday, from within the franchise(?)…maybe someone pissed him off Either way, a total douchebag move. Personally I don’t believe he’s HC material
Prime reason why your coaches while under contact and currently still playing should not be allowed to interview with other teams for a job. Makes absolutely no sense.
Ben wants to be a HC. I was ready for this. Ben’s got a lot of work to do. Thanks for everything you did in Detroit No worries Dan has done play calling we’ll get another FIRE OC. I hope We get a better Defensive Coordinator than Aaron Glenn. I hear Glenn’s going back to the Jets. But we’re not done anywhere near as a team.
If you didn't believe Ben Johnson would improve the Bears, you wouldn't be so angry about it... do you get that? Lions have 2 and half good seasons, and all of a sudden, you are the NFL gold standard?
I personally don’t give one rats passing he makes you better or not because I know he won’t. Johnson is a brilliant play designer. But his ability to play call is sketchy at times and on top of that he is no Campbell. Plus your offensive line is still a damn sieve. I had no issue with Johnson leaving I knew it was coming and after his checked out performance against the Commanders I was ok with him leaving. But to go to you guys that is why I and many Lions fans are pissed. Anyone else I would have been fine with because it would have been a sign of respect to us to not sleep with the in-division enemy. Put simply it is like this. I know you are leaving and there is nothing I can do to really stop it but if you want to do right by me who let me remind you made you into who you are don’t go to our rival because that would be the ultimate act of betrayal. And what did BJ do that very thing.
@MotorCityFanMania you went on to write 3 paragraphs to explain why you don't care.. if you didn't care, you wouldn't even have responded to my comment. You are upset because of the circumstances, at least own it. That's why you made the video in the first place bc you are angry. Just own it. I would be pissed if I were you too. No sense of trying to cope about it will fail. Lions will play the Bears twice this year, so you'll find out
You should have saw all the warning signs when he disrespected Washington last year with calling the owners a bunch of basketball guys. Then Washington had to expose his ass. If I were you guys I would say good luck with that finger nail painting QB. Plenty of talented OC's out there. You guys are fine don't stress. This coming from a Redskin fan. See you guys next year in the playoffs and many more years. We both will not see the Bears in the playoffs.
I don’t mind coaches leaving for HC jobs. Timing is the issue. The NFL needs to stop any talks or interviews with other teams until that team is eliminated. Or, if that is still to tempting, make it after the Super Bowl.
Seriously? Is he suppose to turn down the opportunity to be a head coach? Why shouldn't he go for it? It happens every year. Your DC is leaving too, probably. Is he a traitor? If a player leaves in free agency is he a traitor for wanting a better deal. Give it a rest.
I dont care where the coaches go. Im more mad they lost focus on their job to coach the Lions and stay focused. They lost sight of their job and duty. It also clearly distracted the players they kept talking about and texting the coaches about it. The players shouldnt be concerned with that.
Need to shut down these postseason interviews, Dan Campbell should make it a requirement to wait until the full season is over to worry about moving on....
Cant blame him honestly. Chicago job is the Big Time both in massive pay of millions rather than hundreds of thousands and large control of the club and players. He's an O Fence guy and likes the prospects of Williams. Honestly he will probably do well there and has the chance too bring Chicago back too life. As a Lions fan I hate this but with our success breeds more turn over in coaching. Go Lions!
Ben Johnson is not why we had 5 turnovers. Only one that can be put on him was the trick play. Pro sports do not have true rivalries on the field/in the locker rooms. We as fans see it that way, but that isn't how it is behind the scenes. Because of that it isn't looked at as a traitor for those that play....their is a reason players on our team are congratulating him.
call an empty set with a pocket passer in the red zone and you are asking for a turnover. Run the ball twice. Play action. TD. Not hard, but Ben makes it hard. He said he'd play to Jared's strengths lol.
Nope he is going to cement his career as he re-creates the Monsters of The Midway and develops Caleb into the generational talent that he is! Ben Johnson is a smart man and will win the Super Bowl within 3 years as the coach of the Chicago Bears.
You guys are so funny. So now Goff made Ben. It's ok to be butt hurt. I know you guys haven't been through this, but that's what OC and OD do. They move on. If Dan is so good, we'll see next year. 2 winning seasons in 90 years and you guys think your shit doesn't stink. Good luck with that.
Thank you for your insight, I was among the gullible Raiders fans thinking they would land BJ. But watching this video made me feel a little bit better about us not wasting money and time with this clown.
You all knew he was leaving!! Why the hell would he go to Las Vegas? Or New Orleans for that matter,The Bears got money to spend in free agency,a up and coming QB and premium draft picks!! These dudes have no loyalty,it’s the money and nothing more! I’d be pissed at Aaron Glenn and that defense, you put up 31 and lose!!
3rd and 1 in the red zone with the run game on fire, he calls a play that sends Montomery out wide, empty backfield, 5 blockers, and has Goff drop back and wait for an open receiver, which allowed him to get hit from behind. Play calling. Pay attention.
If reports of telling the offense he was leaving before the game is true then yes some of Goffs and others on offense lack of concentration could certainly be credited to that.
When was the last time the lions were good before Dan cambell. Lions sucked with Dan cambell until they promoted Ben Johnson. Detroit is the shyttest franchise in the league. Obviously Ben Johnson sees something in Caleb than he does in Goff. Lions on their way back to the basement
Relax folks, The bears are the best opportunity for him to succeed and I don’t blame him. He’s professional and nothing he did hurt the team. Jamo should have kept the ball instead of throwing to a covered receiver.
Not a leader of men, difference between coaches like MCDC and others, Ben is a clipboard X/O’s guy, not a leader, watch and learn, he’ll be done in 2-4 years
You are not serious are you? Going to get a HC coach job? Do you know how many coordinators and assistants Sean McVay has been happy to see get HC gigs(O'Connell, Taylor, etc)? This is what winners do. They have team culture that is not tied to individuals and in fact encourage them to find their own horizons. Detroit, you gotta get used to it: you are winners now. This isn't like breaking up the '90s bulls. So the guy is forced to coach at one place forever like I just don't understand your take. Maybe he just got tired of losing in the playoffs and he wants to be a head coach of another team so it's the bears. Oh well, but by all regards Detroit should still be a better team than the bears next season. But he obviously doesn't have confidence in the team going all the way.
@@Eric-jk3oi No Einstein, he could have had more class and WAITED instead of dropping that bomb before the biggest game of the players lives. It obviously affected Goff. And claiming he didn't think Detroit could get it done is pure speculation on your part. He obviously saw an opportunity to be the big man and get a pay raise which says nothing about whether or not Detroit can win. For the love of humanity have some freakin intellectual honesty!
@masinaverde901 Goff affected goff. Hahahahah Let's not pretend things now. I understand your panties might be a twist but no need to go crazy.
Bears be careful what you wished for
I now question some play calls by Ben Johnson in that Washington game. Our running was working yet we had to resort to making ridiculous throws. Oh he went to the Bears in hopes of easy wins against us.
A head coach is supposed to be a leader of men. How can men follow a head coach that they know walked out on his previous team when they needed him the most? Like a dead beat step dad.
😂 Are you actually serious? Are you going to blast somebody for leaving to get a promotion? The salt is real!😂. By the way, someone give that cry baby head coach of yours a hug. He's going to need one for sure after today.
He is going to take some of our coaches along with him. The man was and is a enemy of Detroit
@@angelcamacho217 Leaving before the job is finished, yeah, I am going to blast him, but not just him, it is the whole coach poaching system of the NFL. No teams should be allowed to have interviews till the end of the season, and the end of the season is after the Super Bowl.
@David-w9i7j How old are you? I'm asking because there is no sense in what you said. This. Is. The. N.F.L. Are you going to hire college coaches to run your franchise? This happens every year. You got to be in middle school or something.

Does anyone wonder if Ben intentionally threw the game against the Commanders?
Does anyone in Detroit think? Johnson did not give up 45 points.
@@jerrylundegaard2592 nor did he give up 5 turnovers and a pick 6
The team played on both sides like they knew both coaches were leaving. They were more interested in doing interviews than preparing for the playoff game.
I’m going to say both BJ and AG will only last 2, maybe 3 yrs.
But I trust Dan and Brad to find suitable replacements.
I don’t care where he went, it’s his performance on Sunday I won’t forget.
What did he do Sunday? Sing off key in church?
Exactly 💯
His team did score 31 points, which is enough to win most games. The DC was Sunday's failure.
He will be exposed. He's a mouse, not a man. He's definitely not a leader of men...
DC should not have allowed his coordinators to look for new jobs during the playoff run.
Will see
That's a dick move ben!
Note To Self: Don't Trust Ben Johnson
Go Lions!!
You already did. You're just mad because he dumped you
@@Marc-n5eshut up
Seems like winning the top seed and getting that bye week actually cost us the game because it allowed Ben to talk to other teams versus game planning for the commanders.
He was checked out when we played Saturday - Building his team. How can you not be checked out and thinking of YOUR OWN future. Good luck but you won't have it better then our owner here and or culture. You can't build something somewhere else if you TRULY don't have the entire operation in on the buy in.
Zero loyalty is what’s wrong with this world. B.J. just showing his TRUE COLORS!
Don't be too tough. Y'all will be watching the Superbowl at home like us
DAMN! DAMN!! DAMNNNN!!!!
I waited for my Lions to be good, and now this!
Great point and I am in full agreement with you.
Ben Johnson built that offense not Dan Campbell. He also helped Goff get $50 million. I know you all are upset but don't change facts.
Slithering as a snake
I would normally say that you're just being both paranoid and bitter but seeing as how fast Ben Johnson not only took the Bears job but had key members of his staff already in place, it's not a stretch to say that Johnson's mind was on his next venture & barely invested in the Lions SuperBowl run
Both coordinators were traitors.

Lions lost because of their defense. Johnson wanted to win as much as any coach on the field. I don’t even blame Goff. Defense couldn’t stop Washington and they played mistake free football.
I’m so upset with Ben Johnson just because of how he left Detroit Lions fan in team and went over to the Chicago Bears didn’t wait a week

Monty one player, HC in charge of all players yeah that makes total sense again, what an asinine viewpoint
I think he already knew this Saturday... maybe he told Goff... maybe that's why he was off.. but maybe not

He told the players before the game. Watch how Goff and others come out to start the game.

Go Lions!
This is an honest assessment and shows you have class!
The refs are why we had 4 of the 5 turnovers.
And the Commanders scoring as many points as they did was due to the refs and D coordinator Aaron Glenn.

Ben Johnson told Goff to turn the ball over 5 times?
3rd and 1 in the red zone with the run game on fire, he calls a play that sends Montomery out wide, empty backfield, 5 blockers, and has Goff drop back and wait for an open receiver, which allowed him to get hit from behind.
Play calling. Pay attention.
