The guy who owns Malibu Country Kitchen upon whom the character Soup Nazi is rightly based is in reality an asshole , and maybe a nazi for his insulting , vile and gratuitously hateful attitude towards certain people .
Met him last year. Nicest guy in the world. Fun fact though: if you ever meet him, he hates when people actually ask him to say "NO SOUP FOR YOU", But understandable, he gets asked that all the time and I'm sure that gets annoying after a while.
It'd be funny to meet him and tell him "Don't worry. I'm not going to ask you to say it." And in a twist he says, "You're not? [smile, pause] NO SOUP FOR YOU!"
It's kind of sad when you realize that when someone becomes famous for one particular thing, they have to spend years, if not the rest of their lives constantly being asked to say or do something. Buzz Aldrin was constantly asked, "How did it feel when you walked on the moon?" He hated being asked that question. I texted him a few years back with a suggestion: Tell the person that you were so thoroughly trained and so utterly consumed by your tasks, that you were actually deprived of any sense of great awe and wonder. Tell them that you envy _them_ for being able to feel that.
