    Can u put in water and see which ones float ..Those would not sprout

      hmm... i would only do that AFTER I have a few that actually sprouted. These seeds are pretty inconsistent when they like to germinate....supposed to be 10 weeks, but I have seen them pop up after a whole year.

      @@battlefoxx I got a single seed and germinated mine after two months I did refrigerate it one day only about 2 weeks ago don't know if that had much of an effect.

    Now i know why i have never seen a seed pod....lol.....tho id rather just buy the plant at my age ..pushing 80.
    What is the differences between the 2..also what kind of soil ph.....acid?
    The ines near me in texas are all yellow color.

      I think they grow in almost any soil....but, don't water too much, just enough to get the job done. The seed pods are always at the base of the flower when it dies. The only difference between the two species is the flowers (at least from how you would grow them)...but, the African Iris Dietes grandiflora seems to be less expensive and easier to grow.

    These have been officially declared "weeds" in Sydney Australia. They are very difficult to prune, the leaves are tough to cut through, and they spread themselves out over large areas. Difficult to dig out as well.

      I did not know that. Are they spread out in the hot outback? Near the mines?
