The fact that you brought Aurora up is no surprise. Florence opened lots of doors with Lungs. At the time there was no music like hers and artists like Aurora could flourish because of the good reception this baroque pop genre that Florence crafted in the late '00s had at the time. The carefree attitude Florence's put into her music in the early years was so refreshing. And today, over a decade later, being a reference for baroque pop artists and the indie scene, in general, is sure humbling for her. Her music today is more cohesive and toned down, i feel, and that's not a bad thing at all, just a natural path musicians tend to follow, but the basis for everything she does on a songwriting perspective (the contrasts, the build-ups, her harmonic choices, the arrangements, the themes...) are all present in this 2009 debut.
I've loved every reaction of yours I've seen so far, if you like Marina and Florence, you may like Of Monsters and Men as well and I would love to see your reaction to Little Talks especially, they also change up their sound every album (though Beneath the Skin is my personal favorite).

Just saw this and came for Girl With One Eye, Drumming Song and Cosmic Love reactions. Girl With One Eye’s reaction has me in tears 🤣. But, you couldn’t get into the other two . #Heartbroken. The best! But this video was amazing.
Probably my favorite album of all my life, I can sing, smile, cry and feel goosebumps, Florence Welch not only has a beautiful voice, but her compositions move me in a way that I can't explain
I utterly adore Lungs as an album, and for the longest time I pictured myself inside a forest with mythical creatures while listening to it. Purely magical
It’s the Nordic vocal vybes she gives that gives the open door leading up Aurora! Which, might I add Dolores from The cranberries, I think really opened those doors first…

It’s interesting because when I first heard this album my favorites were Dog Days, Rabbit Heart, Cosmic Love, Hurricane Drunk, and You’ve Got the Love (which was featured in the last episode of Gossip Girl, which is why it may have sounded familiar). And those are still my favorites, but now the only two I can listen to on repeat without getting tired of them are Rabbit Heart and Hurricane Drunk 🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s because it has a really interesting beat and a cool beat + Florence’s vocals is what I really like about her music. A lot of the songs on the album don’t really interest me because it’s a lot of vocal gymnastics without really going anywhere musically, if that makes sense. Anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane I really enjoyed it! xx
The standard album ends at track 13 and whilst the deluxe tracks are okay, taken with just the 13 standard tracks is a much better and well rounded experience.
