This is EXACTLY what happened for me with Mekaverse. I minted mine at 0.2ETH and the weekend before the reveal it went up to like 7.5ETH or so. As my first ever NFT, if I had sold I would have been up significantly and had more ETH to play around with now, but I decided to hold for two reasons, 1. I was nervous about selling what MIGHT have been a rare. and 2. People were saying it'g going to dip a tiny bit and then skyrocket. It hurt the most when MEKA dipped to about 0.9ETH and I was thinking that make if I had sold at the top, and then bought back in at the bottom, I'd have a space 6 or so ETH to play with... but oh well, lesson learned! My thesis going forward now will be to take profits when I can because I can always buy back into a project especially after a correction. It's rarer for things to go parabolic and infinitely skyrocket. A correction will always happen.
Really great to see someone in this space admitting they make mistakes. Btw you're right that the art don't always matter, but to me, Creature World has the best art of all the major projects apart from Doodles. And I don't even own any of them.

NFT art does not matter as much as you think (Bonus Tip). DOn't be dumb after a big win (Bonus Tip 2). If you are happy with the profit, take it! (Especially if you need it) You are welcome.
