Adam has the SDC over his eye because he was branded. He's a bull faunus. RWBY fans believe he was working in the mines at one point, stepped out of line, and got branded as a result.
More likely he was branded because he was a slave worker. It's known that some human companies used faunus slaves (even illegally) to do their labor work while pretending in PR that faunus were treated well.
Another possibility is that he was in the mine during the explosion and maybe something hot with the logo on hit his face lol. The branding probably makes more sense though, given that the way he talked about being hurt made it sound intentional… But who knows?
He got branded just like bulls get branded IRL. Imagine how pissed he would be at humanity if they had chopped a chunk of his beef to sell as hamburgers.
You caught on to Pietro being Penny’s dad REAL quick! Don’t be afraid to have fun the volume. Things do get serious but there’s a lot of fun along the way.
Honestly the biggest issue with her volumes 4-6 outfit is the awful close to her skin color ugly tan as a shirt and big sleeves, just make it black and people would love it i swear. I'll still never understand why they did that, esp for 3 whole volumes. And yeah imo hands down her first outfit and 7-8 are the best
By far my favorite thing from volume 7 next to Ironwood's character: the Ace Ops are Aesop's Fables. Clover is based on Fisherman's Luck, Harriet is based on The Tortoise and the Hare, Elm and Vine are based off The Elm and The Vine, and Marrow is based off The Dog and it's Reflection. All their character traits can be predicted if you know the stories. I can't help but think that Monty would've been proud of that allusion.
Personally, I can’t stand Volume 7. I can tolerate certain parts of Chapters 1 (Penny’s return) and 3 (the weapon upgrades being demonstrated, as well as Qrow and Clover interacting), but that’s about it. The Volume 7 soundtrack is also my least favorite of the soundtracks
Absolutely. Volume 7 really stands out when it comes to the writing. The character writing in particular this season is leaps and bounds better than it ever was before.
Atlas is definitely my favorite arc so far. The world feels extremely lived in and the conflicts are nuanced and complicated, there’s a lot of REALLY good character interactions, we get super intense plot beats, it’s all just so damn good.
Watts' character design somehow reminds me of Waluigi, so ever time I see him I start cackling. Also, Ironwood was definitely going through something tough if he's hugging Qrow like that. We all know they didn't really get along.
Ruby's decision to lie to Ironwood about Jinn and Salem is a somewhat controversial one. Some people think she's a hypocrite and a bad person, some people think it's entirely reasonable given the circumstances. All I'll say is just be aware that the show isnt really portraying this choice as an inherently good or bad one.
It's both. Every single person in real life is a hypocrite. I find it very odd when people take minor hypocrisy in contextually fitting situations as bad character writing (the second thing people say after).
@@janehrahan5116 People complained that Ruby was a Mary Sue for years. She makes one morally gray decision and everyone still complains. Some people can never be satisfied.
People forget that Ruby never complained about any lies or anything… The only thing she was really concerned about was the plan… There was mention later where she wasn’t sure she could trust Oz if he came back… Either way, while I think it is unclear whether she made the right decision or not, I don’t think it was hypocritical really… It’s certainly understandable, given what had happened previously and what was happening when they arrived.
you are the only person I've seen remember the shot of pietro from volume 3 not a spring chicken implies elderly and the lamp growing in size by magic indicates its genuine
I love seeing Jaune's improvement just in that short fight scene in Chapter 1. It's subtle, because his fighting style is not as flashy as all the others, but he killed two grimm in just about 3 seconds like they were made of paper.
I never understood why people were mad/confused by Ruby not being totally trusting of Ironwood. The group was betrayed by Leonardo, another headmaster and member of the Ozlluminati, before so they know not to trust everyone right out of the gate now.
SAL.....U....TATIONS!! There it is, there's the part I've been waiting for you to see, our girl Penny is back and assumed the role of the protector of Mantle! She definitely has grown into her own last we saw her, she was so quiet and still pretty socially awkward before, and now, she's really become so outgoing and extroverted, but just as sweet and bubbly before! Gotta love how she flew at Ruby of all people, continuing the running joke of her tackling and hurting her. Another thing, when Pietro was talking about how the security code had been hacked into, there is evidence going back to Volume 3 that Watts was behind the Black Queen Virus that took over all of Atlas' forces. In the Scroll Cinder holds when looking at Penny's schematics, you can see a W in the top corner of the screen, W standing for Watts. As you've probably surmised, his character will have a prominent role in the coming arc. Now for the Ace Ops, and what a cool group we've got here, we have the leader, Clover, based on the Lucky Fisherman, as well as the muscle, Elm, the Stretch Armstrong himself, Vine, Elm and Vine being based on the story of the Elm and the Vine, the goodest Dog Faunus boi around, Marrow, based on the Dog and his Reflection, and the ultra competitive speedster, Harriet, who is based on the Hare in the Tortoise and the Hare. One thing I feel that was brought back that had been missing since Volume 3 was the multi-team dynamic, where we have multiple teams, not just RWBY and JNPR, bounce off one another, which was one of my favorite aspects of the early Volumes. Think like teams CFVY, SSSN, CRDL, and how they made the school feel bigger because of it. I love the story driven Volumes 4, 5, and 6, but this Volume brought back team dynamics in a good way. What's also cool is that starting this Volume, they got a new writer among the writing staff other than Miles and Kerry, one Eddy Rivas, who has worked on other Rooster Teeth productions in the past, and his presence can definitely be felt. Side note about Vic: yeah, it's pretty crazy, but he played both versions of Broly, the original Broly and the Broly from the Super Broly movie. He has said though that he did not enjoy doing the Broly voice for the original version of the character, as it destroyed his throat, and he enjoyed the Super Broly version much better, since he's not shouting "Kakarot!" all the time.
Here we go again! I was waiting for this for so long: -I really like Qrow's new voice actor - it even canonically makes sense why his voice is different but I am getting ahead of myself with that -Weiss grew so much! -Yes Pietro made Yang's arm -Welcome back Penny - I wonder how is it that you are alive? You got a soul afterall - did you just grab a new one? :P -Its cute how Penny 2.0 looks like older version of Penny -I want to point out that Ren noticed something off before they were caught - he has been showing this weird 6th sense for a while now - what is it about? -Robin Hill and her Merry Huntresses (Can you guess whom they are based on? Its pretty on the nose this time! - HINT-----------------------------------------------------------Redistribution of Wealth) -Winter maiden is presumably extremely old and might be nearing the end of her life -Ace ops (Aesops *tales*) - each is based on one of the Aesop's tales can you figure out who is who? -I dont think Ironwood could fake some of the more mystical properties of the lamp such as size changing - it defies the laws of the Univese -Ruby lying to Ironwood just like Ozpin - this one is funny since Ruby actually never seemed to have a problem with Ozpin keeping secrets she was the only one who didnt get annoyed after Lost Fable, just worried when she realised Ozpin has no plan. Lots of people call her hypocritical in that situation but she is the only person from the team that wasn't. Its still in pretty stark contrast to Ironwoods "I dont want to keep anything from you". -Manly hug between Ironwood and Qrow is great and I live for it! :D Visual Changes: Ruby got a new cloak since her old one was pretty worn out and falling apart Weiss's Crown is now more queenly rather than princesslike. It is adorned with red gemstones - Rubies perhaps? :3 WHITE ROSE IS SAILING BABY! Blake cut her hair as is apparentely common with girls after breakups since now she is truly free of Adam Yang basically stayed the same though - poor girl never gets the visual attention she deserves :D All of them also altered their costumes to be better suited to the frozen climate of Solitas - no more running around in a croptop in the middle of the winter for Blake. The golden repair on Gambol Shroud indeed is supposed to represent Yang but thats not all there is to it. This style of repair is called Kintsugi in Japan and the idea behind it is that imperfections and damage as something that is beautiful rather than worth hiding. Imperfection is a big theme for Yang as far back as Yellow Trailer so thats a good setup. I also feel like its Blake acknowledging what she went through with Adam and accepting it as part of who she is now. I really like Nora's new style its a lot more vibrant. Jaune's new hairstyle makes him look so stuck up and I love it. He chose to keep the red sash from Pyrrha and wears it under his belt now. Ren looks absolutely amazing with the redesign - it gave him so much more character. Upgrades (as far as I know): Crescent Rose - can now turn the blade around - fixing one of the most major difficulties of a Scythe based weapons - throughput of the shots seems faster but that might just be me. Myrtlenaster - No changes, Weiss is from Atlas so her weapon is already up to their standards - she can also afford the best of the best in the first place. Gambol Shroud - It got fixed but I dont recall any other upgrades Ember Celica - Yang can now switch her usual blasting charges to sticky bombs - pretty cool Crocea Mors (the biggest upgrade as it was the lowest quality weaponset) - Sword is the same but Shield can now use hardlight dust to extend size - it also has gravity dust in the body allowing for decimating shield bashes sending enemies flying (or Jaune if the target cant more) Stormflower - Blades can now shoot out like grappling hook and the rate of fire has been increased massively Magnhild - Not sure but I feel like there is gravity dust involved with Nora's backhanded hit on the second Centinel as it felt like very awkward movement of body. JAUNE FINALLY HAS LANDING STRATEGY!!! New Scrolls - why doesnt everyone have something like that? Its way more useful as a small chip than a massive phone mid combat. It was irking me since Vol1 Nora got cockblocked XD Marrow's weapon is called "Fetch" he is playing fetch by himself xD Indeed that is presumably the cavern where Illyas parents died. Afaik Cats see in the dark a lot better than Dogs so it makes sense to send Blake - I am a bit dissapointed they wasted an opportunity to show us how Blake sees the world for a better jumpscare. Marrow's semblance "Stay" is insanely OP not gonna lie. We can see how much better Ace Ops are since they can perfectly coordinate without any real communication. They just know each other that well. Ruby's semblance apparentely isnt just super speed - what can it do then? :P Thats all for today and boy did I go all out! :D
Keep in mind what has happened to everyone we’ve seen touch Yang’s hair. Do you think she’d let a stranger (a stylist who she didn’t know from a Kingdom she has multiple reasons to not be fond of, including but not limited to the treatment of Weiss and Cordovin’s looking down in her because of what it looked like she did to Mercury during the tournament. There’s little to know communication between kingdoms still because of Beacon’s tower still being down, so there’s no guarantee that the wanted posters for Mercury and the other who attacked Haven Academy have gotten to other kingdoms yet. Cordovin was still in Mistral territory, and SHE didn’t even know) touch her hair? Much less alter it significantly?
Just one comment: The cat/dog distinction isn't why Blake was sent; they both have the same vision. All faunus have decent night vision, completely separate from their animal feature. (Everybody gets just one singular feature; Blake has her ears, Marrow has his tail. Neither of them have special specific eyes, just the normal faunus and therefore better than human eyes.) Blake was sent because Marrow mentioned them needing someone who could fit through the gap as well, and he's older and larger than Blake.
-I think it´s "Happy" Huntresses? "Merry would be the other band, but it´s been a while since I checked. -Yes White Rose, let´s go! -Yang is "just right". (-And I love that Pietro made Yang´s arm, just wish it was brought up a bit more. I mean, it´s not necessary, but still...)
@@marieporter9488 I dont necessarily mean haircut - she could just try to style her hair differently - I just find it meh that she never really changes. Then again she is by far my least liked character so meh :D
Your extreme happiness over Penny was to expected, but your shocking intuition is eerie. Also, I'd have to say, it's actually kind of a good call to hold the opening until next week.
Almost a year later, I'm so glad I requested you not watch the intro to volume 7 before episode 3, it makes the reaction to their new outfits so much better, I've rewatched it so many times.
8:41 / 13:15 I JUST NOTICED In both of these scenes we see Rens precog. Because I’m assuming his 6th sense is a result of his semblance evolving considering we’ve only really seen it as of recent, he senses the panel falling first, and he’s the first to track Penny’s movement when she’s coming in for a landing.
What I really like is the amount of thought they gave into such unnoticeable details, the codenames for each team going into the cave is the following: Alpha is Qrow and Clover due to being the oldest of the two groups. Bravo is RWBY, Harriet, and Marrow(they're most likely the B team due to team rwby being the more centrical team rather than JNR.) Charlie is JNR, Elm, and Vine. Fun fact: The only mention of Charlie being the name is when clover addresses them when the geist gets away from him and qrow.
SAL...U...TATIONS, GHOXT!!!! Welcome to the ride that is Volume 7!! Yeah, this volume really decided start things off with a YANG (BANG lol), like holy cow! Literally reacted the same exact way you did when Penny came back, jumped out of my chair and screamed lmao. The Ace Ops are such a cool addition, they're all great (my personal favorite is Clover)! THAT TEAMWORK THOUGH?!?! That fight with the Geist Grimm is one of the best examples of teamwork in this whole show, it was just absolutely outstanding seeing all of these pro huntsmen in action, we all really were just like team RWBY and JNR, just watching from the sidelines in awe! And of course, gotta mention the two baddies. Tyrian and Watts are in Mantle and are already up to no good (especially Tyrian cuz of the killing and all lol). Overall, this was a FANTASTIC start to the new volume and I cannot wait for the next vid!! Can't wait for the reaction to the intro as well, it's one of my favorites!! P.S: I don't remember if you mentioned it in a video before, but Watts' VA is Christopher Sabat, who voices Vegeta :)
The Word of God explanation for Adam's scar is that he worked in an SDC mine, got into a fight with a human supervisor, and the supervisor grabbed one of the brands used for crates and stuck him in the eye.
God the reaction to the Bees moment and Penny are gold tier xD - I really like that they shifted how they showed Winter's distant "tough love" approach towards Weiss, that under her rough language and words she really does care about Weiss w/o any head-slaps or whatnot. - "not a spring chicken" is a phrase for an older person. I think usually 30+ iirc, not sure if its a still known term or one from my generation and older xD - Weiss in this outfit will forever make me think of Saber Artoria from Fate series - Will always love them doing Kintsugi for Blake's gambol, cause the symbolism is chef's kiss - All the new designs really look so good, though I remember people doing memes about Jaune's xD - Yang being in absolute gay panic and Blake's little blush, it truly never gets old seeing it - Adam's brand is up for speculation really. One theory is that he was involved with working for the SDC at some point and was branded for something like insubordination or even as just some cruel thing to do; cause of the SDC & Atlesian's treatment towards faunus. - omg you remembered what Blake's mind was on, namely Ilia's parents. Props to ya dude - The Ace-Ops vs. Golem fight is so damn good, the animation just damn; especially the slow-mo for Harriet. - Ruby riding on Elm's shoulders always gives me good feels, just so wholesome xD
I didn't realize how out of use the phrase "spring chicken" was until this volume came out and a ton of people got confused by the phrase. It makes sense, you don't really hear anyone saying it, but it showed up often enough in books I read in school that I thought more people would have recognized it.
@@RectPropagation I've honestly just gotten used to phrases I know, becoming unknown things xD I guess looking at the phrase it probably would make more sense to be like "spring chick" to go towards the age idea but meh. Getting older sucks xD
Just now watching this video. You've probably heard this by now, but here is the list. Ace-Ops = Aceop's Fables Clover = The Lucky Fisherman Vine & Elm = The Elm And The Vine Harriet = The Tortoise And The Hare Marrow = The Dog And His Reflection
So this is me trying to comment what other people haven't yet (at least that I've seen). Always love the little edits of you being like "Waiiiit I got that reference!" and dying from Penny. Lol Some people catch on that Pietro is Penny's dad because he had the same pink ribbon on his shirt as Penny used to in her hair. Or the whale model on his bookshelf. GJ catching on so quickly ouo Oop, there goes Ren's sixth sense thingy, going off before getting captured by the Ace Ops. Lol BTW, like someone else said, Ace Ops are based on some of Aesops fables. Vine, Elm, Marrow, Harriet, and Clover. Weird that it's a team of 5 instead of the usual 4. Vine: Stretchy limb extentions Elm: Sticky feet with hammer and brute strength Marrow: Doggo with boomerang to play fetch with himself and a Stay semblance that seems to slow time. Harriet: Super speed with bionically enhanced arms to match her leg strength. Clover: Good fortune with a fishing rod. What I find really interesting between Qrow and Clover's semblance is how they work together. Does the luck cancel out or does one bad thing happen, then a good thing happen? And as usual, how much is it actually luck? Qrow assumes that the piece of ice lodged against the iron bar coming down on them and losing their target was his bad luck. Later when Ruby catches the Dust crystal, Qrow saying it was good luck was perceived by Clover as talent. Due to Ruby's own doing independent of his semblance. I think that's a really cool personality choice. ouo Hell, Good Fortune is such a nice semblance in general. With a guy like that as your leader, you'd have total faith that your mission would go successfully. XD Ironwood seems to trust the Ace Ops with everything, and Clover even says that he trusts Ironwood with his life. While we the audience may not think telling the Ace Ops what's up is a good idea, it just shows how alone Ironwood must have felt and how much he trusts his best troops. "What if we're seen? What if we're recognized?" Tyrian being concerned with that tells us that either Tyrian is a world renowned guy that somehow Qrow didn't know, or he spent a lot of time in Mantle or Atlas to be concerned with recognition. We know at the very least that Dr. Watts is a disgraced Atlesion scientist. Yeah no cosplayers saw Weiss's new hair and died inside lol It's so heavy-looking to one side, it would destroy their necks-
funny enough, I made it a hard point to remember the slight cameo of Pietro we saw in Vol 3 and told myself “ If you ever see someone that resembles them… Automatically it has to do with Penny. And when I found out that we were going to Atlas, it reminded me to stay on the lookout for him 🤣 I didn’t even see the bow or the whale on the wall until after the video was done🤣
We're officially at it! V7 is my favorite of them all and I think you'll love it as well However...just a reminder, you won't even see it coming...good luck
Ok so I'll give all the info here I can think of. The Ace Ops are all based on Aesop's Fables. Clover is the Lucky Fisherman. Elm and Vine come from the story the Elm and the Vine. Harriet is from the Tortoise and the Hare and Marrow is from the Dog and his bone. They are also parallels of the others. Elm is a big Nora. Vine is Ren. Harriet is like Ruby. Clover is an upbeat version of Qrow. Marrow is Jaune mostly. Blake's weapon and haircut have more to it than you think. There is a restoration technique in Japan when making repairs with resin. Meant to repair and keep what you had while highlighting the damage it has taken so you never forget your past as you move forward. And cutting your is done in Japan for the sake of mourning. Blake mourning the man she once loved while moving on from the monster he became. The way the particles move in the energized dust area look the same.as.how they moved in the Spring Maiden vault. Robin Hill and her Happy huntresses are obviously Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Jaune's shield now has a hard light extension and a gravity dust pulse. Letting him finally have a landing strategy. Nora's new outfit is actually the standard specialist outfit like Winter wears but with her own alterations. A nice minor detail you can easily miss is when Blake looks at her new scroll. You can see Ruby and Weiss have slightly reduced aura. Showing them using they're semblances in they're landing strategies
Oscar: "I guess the city defenses aren't doing much." Nora: "Somehow, that doesn't surprise me." It sure as hell surprises me since a World of Remnant video stated these places were too high up and too cold for grimm to handle.
Great to see these reactions again! Some spoiler-free info below if you wish to read it. When asked what the main theme of this Volume was, the creative team responded with one word. "Fear." Considering that the majority of fans were expressing fear and paranoia over possible traitors and anything else going wrong for our heroes when this Volume was first airing, the theme is quite fitting. Yes, Pietro built Yang's arm. No, Ironwood did not create a fake relic. There's no technology anywhere on Remnant capable of replicating powerful magical items made by the Gods. The Ace Ops are each based on a specific one of the "Aesop's Fables". They are also each made to act as narrative foils to specific members of our main heroes. Clover Ebi is based on "A Fisherman's Good Luck". His semblance is Good Fortune, and his weapon is called Kingfisher. He's a foil to Qrow. Harriet Bree (my personal second fav member) is based on "The Tortoise and the Hare". Her weapon is called Fast Knuckles and is an exoskeleton suit made to enhance her upper body strength. She's a foil to Ruby. You're not the only one to compare her Super Speed semblance to The Flash. A lot of people did, and considering that RWBY is also a Warner Media property, it could be intentional. Though this is unknown and unconfirmed. Coincidentally, a crossover comic made later would show a version of The Flash does exist on Remnant, with an extremely similar semblance. Marrow Amin (the dog Faunus and my personal fav member) is based on "The Dog and Its Reflection". His weapon is called Fetch, and his semblance allows him to freeze enemies in place by pointing or snapping his fingers at them and saying "Stay". I honestly can't tell who his foil is, or if he even has one. Elm Ederne & Vine Zeki (the big buff lady and bald guy) are based on "The Elm and The Vine". Their weapons are named Timber and Thorn. Elm's semblance is "Aura Roots" which basically roots her to the ground with her aura. This can allow her to hold things in place or even prevent recoil from her weapon simply due to her being basically glued in place. Vine's semblance is "Aura Vines". He basically uses his aura to extend the reach of his arms and legs, along with other possible uses. They serve as foils to Nora & Ren. According to the DVD commentary, Blake's uneasiness about the dust mine and knowing about what happened there is meant to refer to Adam, not Ilia. According to the now defunct mobile game (RWBY Amity Arena), Adam worked as part of a Faunus labor force for the SDC and was eventually branded with the company logo on his face, which basically fueled his hatred of humans. So, it's possible he was branded at that particular mine, and seeing the logo reminded Blake. However, this might have been a case of the show being too subtle, as practically EVERYONE thought it was a reference to Ilia until the commentary came out. Personally, I choose to think of it as referring to both of them. And that's it. Hope you enjoy the rest of this stressful Volume!
Monty's animation still left strong impression in me since volume 3 but damn animation and camera works since volume 7 is starting to get impressed. I glad RT carried on this series after the loss.
Really glad you're still gonna watch the intro next week! It's a big part of the mood for V7 you've been missing out on so far. I've loved all your reactions so far! Just... try to take a deep breath and enjoy the show. Don't let the stress of what-if's keep you from enjoying it! I've found that, overall, we can trust these writers to handle things well while switching things up.
At the beginning when I first heard Qrows new voice I remember being a little hmmm but now, I honestly think it suits him even better than Vic's voice. Also, Pietro's voice actor is Dave Fennoy, and as a big big fan of Telltale games ( The walking dead to be more specific) I almost died when I heard his voice here and also learned that he apparently narrated in one of RWBYs game.
The drake though, Kevin i think you named it, is dead though. Ruby turned it to stone when her eyes flashed at the top of the tower, after she saw Phyrra go.
@@gh0xttherebel Upon investigation in the realms of google and rwby wiki, the dragon is still alive, but is petrified. Which does make sense; ruby doesnt have full control over her power, so taking out giant grim of that level is a bit outside of her wheelhouse for the time being.
just now I realize that, part of the clothes that tiryan has in chapter 2 is the one of the guy who kills at the end of 3 xd, that's why the background sound when he talked to watts
Yay!! Your reactions are baaack! After this reaction episode, it should be “safe” to watch the intro now (I’d love to see your reaction to that!). Looking forward to next week!
Oh man, I'm glad I saved this until my work shift. I had a terrible start to my day and you've just cheered me up! Your reaction to seeing Penny again was everything I wanted lol welcome to volume 7!
That time again LIST TIME~ 1. Personally I think 7 is my fav volume for a few reasons but I won't get to in depth here. 2. Ah the return of Penny still fills me with such glee~ 3. Ruby choosing to withhold info never struck me as to crazy, so far we've met 2 headmasters (Ozpin and Lionheart) both of which were big time lying and one outright betraying. Combo that with Ironwoods kinda of...questionable decisions her decision made sense to me at least. 4. New designs~! Love them I will forever love the interaction between Blake and Yang so cute X3 5. The second I heard Clovers semblance was good luck my mind just went "Qrow you make this man either your bestest buddy forevest or boyfriend cuz this is the best possible teamup for ya~!" lol As per usual twas a fun watch with ya I look forward to next session and your reaction to the intro, untill then~
I’m analyzing it and I think it just was broken near when the two could combine. I’m going to look at it again but I’m only analyzing this because I would want my OC to have the other half of her staff🤣
Great reaction! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the rest of the volume! I had the same reaction as you when I first saw Penny again! I was laughing and crying all at the same time. Her new look is so cute!
Best Volume alert! (totally objective and not at all just my opinion haha) I feel like the writing and fights really amped it up this time and Ironwood is so interesting. also fantastic edits as usual
Great reaction! So glad to get started on this volume with you. Love how Penny greets Ruby. The new styles and weapons are great. Looking forward to a few scenes coming up in the future episodes to see how you react to them. :) It definitely is good to have Penny back. Does make you feel whole again.
"We were in a train crash..." "And after we came to, Ozpin was suddenly not there." "Ozpin told us all the wishes were used up before the lamp was sealed" Conclusion: no false statements detected.
Penny saying "it will be just like Beacon again" is the most ominous red flag ever
😭😭😭
Love how when they're getting arrested Maria's like "Nope I'm out."
🤣🤣🤣 Granny is not with the Ops!
Well she was the one flying a stolen airship....she wanted none of that smoke.
She dipped out, old school.
I could be wrong but I thought he was a goat faunus?
Another possibility is that he was in the mine during the explosion and maybe something hot with the logo on hit his face lol.
The branding probably makes more sense though, given that the way he talked about being hurt made it sound intentional… But who knows?
@@dunerat42 Or pirate markers. Pirate branding is the most common instance.

Finally time for Ruby's greatest drip. It's so weird rewatching the series now after seeing Ruby in her Volume7/8 outfit. It's just SO GOOD
Better than Vol 4-6 and the Vol 2 part 1 but not better than the first one
@@elpepo0 yes much better than her original outfit too. The hair gives so much character to Ruby.
Straight up. The haircut, the outfit, she just looks so fucking cool.
It is important to remember the chibi mantra. "Nothing bad ever happens."
No, stop. Shut up. I can’t- no
Edit: “It’ll be just like Beacon again”
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
By far my favorite thing from volume 7 next to Ironwood's character: the Ace Ops are Aesop's Fables. Clover is based on Fisherman's Luck, Harriet is based on The Tortoise and the Hare, Elm and Vine are based off The Elm and The Vine, and Marrow is based off The Dog and it's Reflection. All their character traits can be predicted if you know the stories.
I can't help but think that Monty would've been proud of that allusion.

That’s true. We all need a hug honestly
And I CAN SEE IT!!! Waluigi!!! 😭
The yellow seal is for kintsugi, basically a philosophy where the breaking and mending of an object is part its history
@@Hy3jii It's exactly that. People complained that Ruby didn't do enough, then after V6, they complained that she did too much.
@@Hy3jii the thing is it makes no sense
People forget that Ruby never complained about any lies or anything… The only thing she was really concerned about was the plan… There was mention later where she wasn’t sure she could trust Oz if he came back… Either way, while I think it is unclear whether she made the right decision or not, I don’t think it was hypocritical really… It’s certainly understandable, given what had happened previously and what was happening when they arrived.
Your reactions to RWBY are easily the best man.
Thank you thank you! 🥹🖤✨🙏🏽
you are the only person I've seen remember the shot of pietro from volume 3
not a spring chicken implies elderly
and the lamp growing in size by magic indicates its genuine
23:47 i never noticed this till now but Ironwood chuckles at the fact that Ruby and crew stole an Atlas airship
He’s a proud uncle lol
I love seeing Jaune's improvement just in that short fight scene in Chapter 1. It's subtle, because his fighting style is not as flashy as all the others, but he killed two grimm in just about 3 seconds like they were made of paper.
Been waiting for this for SOO LONG!!! Your reaction to penny is incredible, can't wait to see you react to the rest of the show!
😭😭😭😭😭🖤✨
I never understood why people were mad/confused by Ruby not being totally trusting of Ironwood. The group was betrayed by Leonardo, another headmaster and member of the Ozlluminati, before so they know not to trust everyone right out of the gate now.
Tyrion isn’t capping, he really be snatching souls around here 😂
🤣
🤣🤣 love both Broly’s
And thank you for giving me the references to the ace ops. That definitely makes it easier for me to remember going forward
This volume is definitely up there with one of the best of the whole show, super excited to see these reactions
I loved the part where Blake blushed at Yang when she complimented her hair😊
35:40 oh god... OH GOD. You can overhear the sound of blades sinking into flesh in the call.
Here we go again! I was waiting for this for so long:
-I really like Qrow's new voice actor - it even canonically makes sense why his voice is different but I am getting ahead of myself with that
-Weiss grew so much!
-Yes Pietro made Yang's arm
-Welcome back Penny - I wonder how is it that you are alive? You got a soul afterall - did you just grab a new one? :P
-Its cute how Penny 2.0 looks like older version of Penny
-I want to point out that Ren noticed something off before they were caught - he has been showing this weird 6th sense for a while now - what is it about?
-Robin Hill and her Merry Huntresses (Can you guess whom they are based on? Its pretty on the nose this time! - HINT-----------------------------------------------------------Redistribution of Wealth)
-Winter maiden is presumably extremely old and might be nearing the end of her life
-Ace ops (Aesops *tales*) - each is based on one of the Aesop's tales can you figure out who is who?
-I dont think Ironwood could fake some of the more mystical properties of the lamp such as size changing - it defies the laws of the Univese
-Ruby lying to Ironwood just like Ozpin - this one is funny since Ruby actually never seemed to have a problem with Ozpin keeping secrets she was the only one who didnt get annoyed after Lost Fable, just worried when she realised Ozpin has no plan. Lots of people call her hypocritical in that situation but she is the only person from the team that wasn't. Its still in pretty stark contrast to Ironwoods "I dont want to keep anything from you".
-Manly hug between Ironwood and Qrow is great and I live for it! :D
Visual Changes:
Ruby got a new cloak since her old one was pretty worn out and falling apart
Weiss's Crown is now more queenly rather than princesslike. It is adorned with red gemstones - Rubies perhaps? :3 WHITE ROSE IS SAILING BABY!
Blake cut her hair as is apparentely common with girls after breakups since now she is truly free of Adam
Yang basically stayed the same though - poor girl never gets the visual attention she deserves :D
All of them also altered their costumes to be better suited to the frozen climate of Solitas - no more running around in a croptop in the middle of the winter for Blake.
Upgrades (as far as I know):
Crescent Rose - can now turn the blade around - fixing one of the most major difficulties of a Scythe based weapons - throughput of the shots seems faster but that might just be me.
Myrtlenaster - No changes, Weiss is from Atlas so her weapon is already up to their standards - she can also afford the best of the best in the first place.
Gambol Shroud - It got fixed but I dont recall any other upgrades
Ember Celica - Yang can now switch her usual blasting charges to sticky bombs - pretty cool
Crocea Mors (the biggest upgrade as it was the lowest quality weaponset) - Sword is the same but Shield can now use hardlight dust to extend size - it also has gravity dust in the body allowing for decimating shield bashes sending enemies flying (or Jaune if the target cant more)
Stormflower - Blades can now shoot out like grappling hook and the rate of fire has been increased massively
Magnhild - Not sure but I feel like there is gravity dust involved with Nora's backhanded hit on the second Centinel as it felt like very awkward movement of body.
JAUNE FINALLY HAS LANDING STRATEGY!!!
New Scrolls - why doesnt everyone have something like that? Its way more useful as a small chip than a massive phone mid combat. It was irking me since Vol1
Nora got cockblocked XD
Marrow's weapon is called "Fetch" he is playing fetch by himself xD
Indeed that is presumably the cavern where Illyas parents died.
Thats all for today and boy did I go all out!
Neither of them have special specific eyes, just the normal faunus and therefore better than human eyes.)
Blake was sent because Marrow mentioned them needing someone who could fit through the gap as well, and he's older and larger than Blake.
@@johnyshadow Ye mb its happy xD
@@marieporter9488 I dont necessarily mean haircut - she could just try to style her hair differently - I just find it meh that she never really changes. Then again she is by far my least liked character so meh :D
"what.. if its penny"
me: hm yes what if. that would indeed be a crazy phenominon
Now the question is, do I wait and watch this right now, or save it until my shift tonight? Hmmm, decisions decisions XD
literally me every friday
Saving for my shift
Your extreme happiness over Penny was to expected, but your shocking intuition is eerie. Also, I'd have to say, it's actually kind of a good call to hold the opening until next week.
Trust me….it scares me lol
Almost a year later, I'm so glad I requested you not watch the intro to volume 7 before episode 3, it makes the reaction to their new outfits so much better, I've rewatched it so many times.
8:41 / 13:15
I JUST NOTICED
In both of these scenes we see Rens precog. Because I’m assuming his 6th sense is a result of his semblance evolving considering we’ve only really seen it as of recent, he senses the panel falling first, and he’s the first to track Penny’s movement when she’s coming in for a landing.
🤯
What I really like is the amount of thought they gave into such unnoticeable details, the codenames for each team going into the cave is the following:
Alpha is Qrow and Clover due to being the oldest of the two groups.
Bravo is RWBY, Harriet, and Marrow(they're most likely the B team due to team rwby being the more centrical team rather than JNR.)
Charlie is JNR, Elm, and Vine.
Fun fact: The only mention of Charlie being the name is when clover addresses them when the geist gets away from him and qrow.
Ironwood’s semblance is called mettle I believe? It makes it so his mind can’t be changed by outside forces or something like that
Ooooooooo I remember Glynda touching upon this in an earlier volume!
Vegeta (and Piccolo) forever!!!
And Penny being back….I’m still emotional from that!
Yes Pietro is the one who built Yang's arm.
Right before they enter his shop, you can see a Faunus with a cybernetic arm leaving
How did I miss that?!
The Word of God explanation for Adam's scar is that he worked in an SDC mine, got into a fight with a human supervisor, and the supervisor grabbed one of the brands used for crates and stuck him in the eye.
Yikes
God the reaction to the Bees moment and Penny are gold tier xD
- I really like that they shifted how they showed Winter's distant "tough love" approach towards Weiss, that under her rough language and words she really does care about Weiss w/o any head-slaps or whatnot.
- "not a spring chicken" is a phrase for an older person. I think usually 30+ iirc, not sure if its a still known term or one from my generation and older xD
- Weiss in this outfit will forever make me think of Saber Artoria from Fate series
- Will always love them doing Kintsugi for Blake's gambol, cause the symbolism is chef's kiss
- All the new designs really look so good, though I remember people doing memes about Jaune's xD
- Yang being in absolute gay panic and Blake's little blush, it truly never gets old seeing it
- Adam's brand is up for speculation really. One theory is that he was involved with working for the SDC at some point and was branded for something like insubordination or even as just some cruel thing to do; cause of the SDC & Atlesian's treatment towards faunus.
- omg you remembered what Blake's mind was on, namely Ilia's parents. Props to ya dude
- The Ace-Ops vs.
"It'll be just like Beacon again!!"
Me: Very poor choice of words, Penny.
😭😭
About that caves in bit of mine and Blake looking especially sad during it: Remember Ilia's backstory? It's where her parents died.
Yup. Instantly got that
Just now watching this video. You've probably heard this by now, but here is the list.
Ace-Ops = Aceop's Fables
Clover = The Lucky Fisherman
Vine & Elm = The Elm And The Vine
Harriet = The Tortoise And The Hare
Marrow = The Dog And His Reflection
There called the Ace Ops bc they’re all based on Aesop’s fables. Thought that was cool
17:52 Blake's all like " did you really come out her barefooted?" Lol
I have watched this many times and have never noticed this 😂
So this is me trying to comment what other people haven't yet (at least that I've seen). Always love the little edits of you being like "Waiiiit I got that reference!" and dying from Penny. Lol
Some people catch on that Pietro is Penny's dad because he had the same pink ribbon on his shirt as Penny used to in her hair. Or the whale model on his bookshelf. GJ catching on so quickly ouo
Oop, there goes Ren's sixth sense thingy, going off before getting captured by the Ace Ops. Lol BTW, like someone else said, Ace Ops are based on some of Aesops fables. Vine, Elm, Marrow, Harriet, and Clover. Weird that it's a team of 5 instead of the usual 4.
Vine: Stretchy limb extentions
Elm: Sticky feet with hammer and brute strength
Marrow: Doggo with boomerang to play fetch with himself and a Stay semblance that seems to slow time.
XD
Ironwood seems to trust the Ace Ops with everything, and Clover even says that he trusts Ironwood with his life.
And when I found out that we were going to Atlas, it reminded me to stay on the lookout for him 🤣
I didn’t even see the bow or the whale on the wall until after the video was done🤣
We're officially at it! V7 is my favorite of them all and I think you'll love it as well
However...just a reminder, you won't even see it coming...good luck
"It'll be just like Beacon again!"
*flashbacks* I’D RATHER NOT HAVE A REPEAT OF VOLUME 3, THANK YOU
So incredibly cursed. I remember watching this for the first time and I almost shat myself when I heard that
Oh god no….
Oooooo good notes
I'm not sure if someone has already pointed this out to you, there are a lot of comments, but the "bowtie" Pietro is wearing is Penny's original bow.
I didn’t notice until after 😳
Sees that Rebel has uploaded Vol7 episodes of RWBY...
Count Dooku: "I've been looking forward to this!"😃😃😃
All I can say is bruh, by the time you catch up to the show current ya gonna need a hug. And it's ok. Also Penny is love, Penny is life.
🥺💚🖤✨🙏🏽
My man Watts is playing Watch Dogs.
🤣
They was going to put it back in the vault but they need raven to seal it so that was a no go
Ooooooo true true
Oscar: "I guess the city defenses aren't doing much."
Nora: "Somehow, that doesn't surprise me."
It sure as hell surprises me since a World of Remnant video stated these places were too high up and too cold for grimm to handle.
They have stuff like camera robots to make sure ones like Cinder does infiltrate the kingdom.
Unfortunately for them, Cinder can get past those (and every other security measure they have) with ease.
Monty's animation still left strong impression in me since volume 3
but damn animation and camera works since volume 7 is starting to get impressed.
👏🏽 my 👏🏽 trust 👏🏽 has 👏🏽 been 👏🏽 broken!!!!
“It’ll be just like Beacon again!”
They sure like waiving their death flags, don’t they.
😭😭
This’ll be my first live watch since catching up! So excited, glad it could be *this* volume I get to see live!
Yeah, that WOULD be crazy if the maiden was Penny!
🤣🤣
I really love the lighting in v7 and 8 its sooo pretty!
Weiss came full circle
volume 1 "the faunus are all the same !
volume 7 tosses a racist in the dumpster "was worth it"
Weiss. Is. Best. Girl!!!
The scream when the Geist jumps out at Blake took me the fuck out XD I'm crying!
😭😭
24:53 that semblance of yours is something else....
It's been a year and still, your reactions always get me hyped up
The drake though, Kevin i think you named it, is dead though. Ruby turned it to stone when her eyes flashed at the top of the tower, after she saw Phyrra go.
I think I remember her Qrow saying it was alive
I’m going to have to revisit that
@@gh0xttherebel Upon investigation in the realms of google and rwby wiki, the dragon is still alive, but is petrified. Which does make sense; ruby doesnt have full control over her power, so taking out giant grim of that level is a bit outside of her wheelhouse for the time being.
I am both excited and terrified for you. These next two seasons are going to be an emotional rollercoaster for you. I hope you have fun
Ooooooh boy
Ngl, i started reading the table and thought it said “oh no…my heart…it’s broken” like that one vine and lmao😂

I’m glad that this video cheered up your day!
Finally able to watch, your reaction to Penny is what I have been waiting for. The purest bean, we love her.
😭🖤✨🙏🏽💚
That time again LIST TIME~
1. Personally I think 7 is my fav volume for a few reasons but I won't get to in depth here.
2. Ah the return of Penny still fills me with such glee~
Love them I will forever love the interaction between Blake and Yang so cute X3
5. The second I heard Clovers semblance was good luck my mind just went "Qrow you make this man either your bestest buddy forevest or boyfriend cuz this is the best possible teamup for ya~!" lol
As per usual twas a fun watch with ya I look forward to next session and your reaction to the intro, untill then~
The other half of Maria's weapon was damaged beyond repair by Tock. You can see when it happens if you go back and rewatch the fight.
I’m analyzing it and I think it just was broken near when the two could combine. I’m going to look at it again but I’m only analyzing this because I would want my OC to have the other half of her staff🤣
44:30 his scream! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
To answer the Adam questions we assume he got branded by the schnee dust company when he was young! Probably labor force
13:39 And here we see wild ghoxttherebel being taken out of his usual habitat
39:35 Joan banana hair
48:17 lucky fisherman
😭😭
I am oddly glad I wasn't the only one that thought this way about the Ace Ops at this point in the story...
Great reaction! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the rest of the volume! I had the same reaction as you when I first saw Penny again! I was laughing and crying all at the same time. Her new look is so cute!

I love the name of the Ace-Ops (Aesop's)... and it fits perfectly...
Their outfits and that song are both hype af

Here it iiiiis! Editing is on point as always, keep moving forward
🙏🏽🖤✨
Stay is probably my favourite semblence
Somehow, Weiss's change of clothes added an extra three pounds of hair. Where did it all come from?
4:32 the actual answer is that tock, the alligator faunus from her flashback, bit it in half
I clicked this video knowing full well these episodes would hurt- I am still not over... anything to do with Penny.
She's just... Penny!
Look, i gotta be up 7 tomorrow to get ready for work at 9. Do i REALLY want to stay up until 1 in the morning and watch this?
MAYBE.
I knew it, I knew you're gonna have a reaction like this on the first episode.
Best Volume alert! (totally objective and not at all just my opinion haha) I feel like the writing and fights really amped it up this time and Ironwood is so interesting. also fantastic edits as usual
It is always a great pleasure to look your reactiçons to RWBY !
Ace Ops = Aesop's
Great reaction! So glad to get started on this volume with you. Love how Penny greets Ruby. The new styles and weapons are great.
Looking forward to a few scenes coming up in the future episodes to see how you react to them. :)
It definitely is good to have Penny back. Does make you feel whole again.
🥺💚🖤✨🙏🏽😭
"We were in a train crash..."
"And after we came to, Ozpin was suddenly not there."
"Ozpin told us all the wishes were used up before the lamp was sealed"
