His transitions from joke to joke are honestly unbelievable
he’s mastered the ability to tell his jokes “casually” as if he’s just shooting the shit with the audience but he’s memorized every single word and how he’ll approach the tone of those words. it’s amazing.
He’s also really good at testing the crowds responses; he’ll pause but it’s so subtle he decides whether to go along with the whole bit or transition

The real deleted scene is actually after this, when Louis admits the entire confrontation only happened in his own head and the true story is that the guy came up to him and introduced himself and is actually a super nice guy named George!

I get the feeling that that part was scrapped and reworked into the bit about "How you like them apples?" The punchline is roughly identical: about someone who tells a story where they are cheesily "the hero" specifically because it was entirely made up by them.

there's even more to this! i saw him live last January and he tells the audience what REALLY happened: The guy came over and asked if he was new to the building and Louis said yes and he said "Oh welcome!" he was SO nice! And to this day he's one of Louis's best friends!

In any case the whole 30 seconds (wow, such effort you made) it took to edit this would have been exactly as much effort if you'd uploaded the whole part, instead of cutting out a few seconds randomly from a four+ minute clip you call "extended".

The true uncut version I saw was from a different recording where he reveals this is actually a fabrication and he’s friendly with this guy and he totally didn’t confront Louie about anything. I think it makes it even funnier
I saw a version where he says the guy wasn't even real, the whole thing is made up. "And also he doesn't exist. I just made it up because it was funny" with deadpan delivery. I'm looking for that

Which to me was the funniest part of the joke. I saw him do it live before the special. I waited for him to admit it was all in his head and the audience to start roaring, and it never came!!!
@@joink25 aww that’s disappointing. I would have been waiting too. I think CK likes to test what works and doesn’t on the audience. So he switches the punchline up. Another good example is he tells a joke about him being on an airplane. The passengers learn Wi-Fi is free. But it’s down so no Wi-Fi. His joke is the guy next to him starts to whine. CK then talks about how entitled the guy is. That he is disappointed about something he JUST learned about. Anyways, in another interview, CK talks tells the same joke. But this time, at the end of his story, he admits he was the disappointed passenger. It was him the whole time.

The call-back has been a mainstay of comedy for awhile (he did it a cpl times in this bit, like w/"favorite thing"). But in this bit (w/"food and me..") I think CK has invented the *call-forward*.

This was not part of the main act when he filmed live. He did he main act, and then came back out for an extra 20 or so mins of material and this was included.

I actually do this all the time now. I work construction, used to build swimming pools and occasionally serviced them…sometimes I’d be in my construction clothes but had to go service a pool and customers would see me in their backyard, in my dirty construction clothes and ask “excuse me, what r u doing?” And I’d bust out the “hey man I’m just down on my luck, it’s real hot I just wanted to relax in ur pool house for a couple….days…..” and they’d just stare with the most baffled look…
