    I really appreciate all your videos, Jon. You explain things in a very succinct and clear way that makes sense to me. I think one of the best qualities of your content creation is that your videos are always relevant. 2+ years later people are still looking at your videos for how to plays and information, while other channels sometimes aren't really relevant as time goes on (news, kickstarter promotions, etc.). Whenever I need a how-to-play, 9 times out of 10 you have some sort of content for it. Even though we have never met, you have taught me to play so many games! :) Thank you for all your time and effort!! I really do appreciate it.

    I was getting REALLY nervous at around 4:00 that you could possibly place that non-river tile next to the river. I'm so glad that you can't.

    At 24:30 you second guess yourself musing that you maybe should have placed the first B tile on the board before scoring. It probably doesn't matter, but you were correct the way you did it. According to the rules, you score as soon as you place the last tile of a stack on the board.

    19:22 - "Victory points are great because the player with the most of these at the end of the game is the winner" - I never knew that! :P
    I like games with a Discard Mechanic. Keeps things fresh. I wish Clank! had that option available for their Adventure Row because there are times when the Adventure Row has a bunch of junk in it.

    Does anyone know if there is any reason that the resorces that you get from other sources than the production tiles (like cards and instant clan bonuses) should be put on specific tiles? Does it matter where the resource is for payment or conversions?

    Thanks so much for the great videos for this game. I had heard of the original Glen More, but had never played it. After watching your videos, this reboot looked really awesome. In a very rare move, I bought it along with the few promos available and the metal coins as a package deal from my FLGS (I bought it Christmas Eve). It took a LONG time to apply all the stickers and get everything organized after unboxing, but I really hope to get it to the table soon. Thanks again for your great videos and I hope you have a great holiday.

    • @JonGetsGames

      I surprisingly enjoyed putting the stickers on, but yeah it well well over an hour to do. I put good music on and methodically went through it :)

    I'm 20 minutes into the video, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what all of this working toward. Points I guess, but I don't hear anything about strategizing--why they're grabbing this tile, why that one. Seems everyone is just doing random things with no strategy.

    Re the Pullteney tile at 18:20 you said you could spend 3 coins to get a barley to exchange for whiskey - but can't you only spend money to pay for resources to purchase a tile? Not to use for an activation like that?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rules state "At any time during his turn, a player may buy or sell resources at the Market." on page 9 so I think what I did was legal. Unless there is a restriction mentioned later in the rules that I missed.

    Thanks for another great video, Jon! It looks like a very enjoyable game. I'm planning of buying a farming / economic game for the family and some of those I m thinking of are Glen More II and Clans of Caledonia. Do you have any preferences or suggestions? Thank you.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally prefer Glen More II, it's far more straight forward than Clans of Caledonia. It's quicker as well. I wanted to like Clans, but it end up feeling too convoluted for my tastes. As far as recomendations are concerned, I'm currently drawing a blank unfortunately.

    • @manos2495
      @manos2495 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonGetsGamesThanks for your answer, Jon! I would also like to ask you pls, which farming/economy games do you recommend? Something like Caverna and Agricola but a bit faster and not that huge on the table! I thought Clans of Caledonia would be such game, but I guess isn't. Thank you!

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manos2495 I do want to say that many people really like Clans of Caledonia, so don't take my opinion as a global one. It just wasn't for me. Recommendations are tough, is it farming /economy mechanics or theme that you are looking for? I haven't played that many honestly, only played Caverna and Agricola once and barely remember how they even work.

    • @manos2495
      @manos2495 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonGetsGames Of course it's not a global opinion as its a highly ranked and very popular game, but I really trust yours.
      As for Agricola and Caverna, i don't care about their theme. I m looking for something close to their mechanics and play style, but a bit faster, meaning -120 max :)

      I've been trying to slow my speech down over the years as people have mentioned it is too fast. I just watched some of this video and honestly I talk far faster then that in real life so this was me quite restrained. It's tough forcing myself to slow down, but I am continuing to try.

    Hey Jon! I'm not sure whether you're supposed to refill the rondel after the die takes its "turn". The rulebook is a bit vague on that point. On page 7 under "The Die" heading the last sentence says: "After the Die has moved, and has most likely removed a Tile, the next Player on the Rondel is determined." This seems to indicate that after discarding the tile landed on that we should proceed directly to the next player's turn and therefore not bring out any new tiles. Furthermore, only under the next heading "Player Turn" on page 8 do they mention refilling the rondel. I was a bit confused after reading all this. Wonder what you think. Is it correct or not to add tiles after the die's "turn"? Thanks :) (I've played this a few times now and really enjoy it)

    • @kennyv.2189
      @kennyv.2189 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You always refill the rondel after any turn so that there is 1 empty space behind the last player, regardless if it's the dummy.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My understanding is that the die is a proxy for another player taking tiles and because of that I treated it like a player turn and refilled after.

    • @MrPhineas89
      @MrPhineas89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JonGetsGames Alright. Thanks for the response. That's how I viewed it too, just wish it was written explicitly as such. I suppose it also just helps with game flow to always refill the rondel regardless of who's turn.
