Barber Beard Trim & Shave Series Ep 04 (The Ducktail Beard)

Episode 4 of our Barber Beard Trim & Shave Series sees us in the Gold Coast with Brett Farmer from Tang & Blade Barber Shop. Brett shows us how to turn a grown out beard into a ducktail beard.
The whole style is done freehand. First the beard is given its basic proportions. The sides are blended in and the shaping process begins. Remember not to take off too much hair from the jawline area.
Maintaining the ducktail beard is simple. Some beard oil if your beard or skin gets dry. A beard balm with brush or comb would be great for shaping the beard. Scissors for stray hairs. Finally a razor with shave oil or gel to tidy the margins gets you extra style points.

My biggest issue is the hairs on my right cheek grow back towards my ear and the hairs on my left grow down as they should, makes it very difficult to shape.
