I am a Norwegian and i really like your relaxing style. You make excellent and very informative videos. I travelling most solo myself, but have never been on cruise yet. Maybe next year…. You have a new subscriber 😊
Love all the scenic views/shots! So beautiful 🤩 your videos are so good i can feel the fun you having and the relaxation of nature! I do skip the food , i love cruise food, so i be eating all day long here… lol 😂
I love the fish market in Bergen. My mom (who has Norwegian heritage) and I got some smoked herring wrapped in newspaper and chomped on it like a burrito! I love Norway!
Another beautiful port and great video, thanks for sharing! Your fjords tour looked excellent! I’m just doing a city tour and riding the funicular in September. I sure hope we get as lucky with the weather as you were on your cruise!
Looks like a beautiful little town! Scenic cruise looked amazing…loved the seats! lol…any little scenic tour I’ve taken were benches! Too bad about the funicular…downside of cruising is the short port visits…upside is gives you a reason to go back! Looking forward to the next two ports.
@@diamondndarufftravels6605 I hope you have an amazing time, it was one of my favorite cruises yet! This was not an NCL excursion, I booked this through Get Your Guide, the link is in the video description 😊
I came across this vid yesterday. I really enjoyed the content and great editing. I decided that I MUST binge the other videos from the start of this journey. Let me say first of all, keep up the good work. My wife and I are looking at fjord cruising for next year. The visual quality of your videos is, as you would say, STUNNING! I do have a personal question. I am not a connoisseur of fine/top shelf alcohols (making me a cheap date). The only "picky" decisions I make are about my IPAs and DIPAs and TIPAs (Lagunitas Waldo's). What was your DRIVING POINT to upgrade to the Free At Sea PLUS? Just Curious.
@@ericmanner8546 thank you so much! So glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos! I felt it was worth it to upgrade to FAS plus because of the other inclusions, not so much the alcohol (I also don’t drink top shelf normally) but things like unlimited Starbucks, bottled water, WiFi access, 2 extra specialty dining meals, all made the decision easier. Since I often add those extras on anyway or purchase while on the cruise it just made sense to do the upgrade this time!
The line about the electric powerlines keeping trolls out is not something he made up. It's from the documentary (Same sort of documentary as "Forgotten Silver"), called the Troll Hunter, where a camera crew follows a former special forces operator turned troll hunter for the government. If you're Norwegian, it's *really* good. It's probably also really good if you're not, but you might miss a bunch of references and cameos.
We spent 4 days in Bergen in December 2022: two of them in a gorgeous snowy wonderland (very rare for Bergen) before we boarded an 11 nt Hurtigruten coastal cruise and two of them (Christmas Day and Boxing Day) after the cruise. We loved this beautiful city.
@@MerCruisesSolo Norway was spectacular in winter!!!! And, yes, it was a truly amazing trip! We spent the entire month of December in Scandinavia. Besides Bergen and the Norwegian Coast, we had also spent 4 days in Oslo, 3 days in Copenhagen (a return visit there for us), 4 days in Stockholm and had taken trains and overnight ferries from one country to another, and the famous Bergensbanen train from Oslo to Bergen.
@@HrHaakon We were there 12th-14th with lots of snow, and then again 25th-27th with no snow (except remainder up on mountains), some rain and lots of gray skies. All good.
Thank you so much for your videos. Absolutely love them! You inspired me. Planning my first solo European cruise .
Thanks, Mer, for taking me along on this fantastic excursion. I loved every moment of it. 💖💖💖

Bergen is gorgeous - so neat and clean looking. That Fjord tour was beautiful, and the boat seems to be very nice. Now I think I want a cinnamon roll.

It's commonly snow about 18th-23rd. And then it rains in the evening after we got our hopes up... :D

Nah, I would rather had taken the funicular railway up to Fløyen that day..... you must go deeper into the fjord to get the really good views....
Will keep that in mind for next time 👍🏼
