      @akshayhere หลายเดือนก่อน

@@tejakaruturi I actually do know about it so I think you're the one in need of some pedagogy. Let me educate you.
Most of the Indian records and history were either passed down through oral tradition, or written on palm leaves which degrade more easily than parchment/vellum in our hot and humid climate. It is telling that a large proportion of our primary sources for many prominent kingdoms/empires come in the form of rock inscriptions. Additionally, there were major violent events like the sacking of Nalanda and Taxaxila that would have resulted in the destruction of large central archives. This is not unique to India; we know relatively little about the Islamic caliphates and the various kingdoms of Central Asia before the mongol conquest due to the sacking of Baghdad.
However, the greater Indosphere produced tons of records, so it is a bit hand wavy to say that they all disappeared due to degradation and the end of oral tradition, especially given the sheer number of semi literate people we would expect to see over the years.
The second reason would be decentralized polities. Throughout history, there were relatively few times when all of India was united under a single political entity - which meant that record keeping was fragmented. Additionally, unlike say China/Japan, where new regions that were conquered by the central dynasty were wholly subsumed into the culture of the dominant power and a narrative was created to show why they should have been subsumed into them, this was generally not the case in India, where regional power centers abounded as long as they provided military support and tribute to the emperor. I recommend Odd Compass’s video on Ashoka for an exploration of how this worked under the Mauryan Empire.
Of course, this is not to say that no records were kept - far from it. It simply means that there is no single, centralized history of records that subsequent rulers used to draw legitimacy from and add to like in China - a canon, if you will. Europe had institutions like the church to provide some continuity in record keeping as well. Some commenters have pointed out that the sangam literature or archives of the Mughals and various princely states are still quite extensive, which gets me to the third reason - the study of ancient and pre-modern India was not prioritized by the state or academia, for reasons including difficulty (easier to learn about it through European accounts of exploration at the British library than digging through an old palace’s archives), funding/resources (a young poor country has other things to do), and political narrative building (initially, the focus was on creating a narrative of unified india through the fight against colonialism, now under hindutva leaders it’s about creating a natives vs outsiders dichotomy).
I will note that the latter is not unique to India and similar, accurate efforts at nationalist narrative building in China are underway and facing pushback from the West, even when the narrative is now found to be true (eg Shang dynasty oracle bones). We also cannot understate the effect of western colonialism in removing/looting records and artifacts from India, and keeping their own records/accounts in their home countries (anecdote: a friend of mine in Mumbai is a map collector and has only been able to collect Indian maps from abroad). Additionally, I am sure there is a ton of archival material in various government offices and archives too that are not easily accessible to trained historians, let alone average citizens.
In conclusion, there are a number of reasons why we don’t seem to have as extensive records of India compared to other civilizations. This is more perception than reality however, and I am sure that much more will be discovered in our lifetimes.

@@tejakaruturi Mongols burned the library of Baghdad till the river turned black from ink, bronze age middle East was a hotbed for unfathomable violence for millennia, Qin shi Huang buried scholars alive, library of Alexandria was destroyed, Jews were slaughtered and killed by Romans, etc. Invasions and suppression of knowledge is not at all unique to India, and yet we have a distinct lack of recorded history compared to all the above mentioned places. We still know a lot about Carthage even though the Romans thoroughly destroyed the city. It seems to me that if a culture valued keeping records, some of it would inevitably survive invasions.

Caste system was on the basis of Guna (quality ) even in puranas , it was mentioned that a person can have multiple caste as per the nature he or she is possessing,.
    Ex:-
A mother while studying and working on something that requires the use of intelligence, then she is Brahmana; when she is scolding her son/daughter to correct their mistakes, it is the Kshatriya nature; when she is managing household finances, she is displaying Vaishya nature, and when she is involved in day-to-day chores then she is utilizing her Shudra nature
Plz sir , I respect you from my heart 💖 , but plz read something about hinduism Sikhism, janism ,vedism and budhism , they are not seperate idea but branches of the same tree("sanatan dharma") looking diffrent but still same . We are not polytheistic but specific and we do believe in a universal , genderless , formless soul "brahman" . Caste system as of now was created by British to divide and rule . You are wrong on many counts - 1. Persian refuges arrived in India between 8th and 10th century. The golden period of Indian history w.r.t. science, math and art was much more earlier. So, no, they didn't help in that. Rather Arabs started translating Indian scientific texts much before in 5-6th century for their own benefits.
    2. Islam accepted by lower caste people in India? Really? What's your source? I hope your source is not church influenced! Islamic invasion of India was one of the bloodiest event in world history. Stop being dependent on church funded "research" and read more Indic sources.
    3. Buddhism was not popular in India. Really? Again, what's your source? Many times in history the whole of India became Buddhist. Hinduism came back thanks to the grate sages of Hinduism. And, yes, without any killing or forceful conversions.
Hinduism lasted so long because of it's caste system - this is an easy answer given by those who failed to convert the country to Christianity or Islam. Please don't fall for such stupid explanations. Hinduism is the ONLY major ancient culture that managed to survive the onslaught of Islam and Christianity. Don't look for an easy answer. Read if you are really interested to know.

If you measure Mauna Kea from the floor of the ocean to the top then the total is around 10,000 meters or 33,000 feet. This would be called the *"the total vertical distance between Mauna Kea’s base and summit"* rather then *“elevation”* to show the difference.

we dont really learn about anceint history in depth, and what they do teach us is pretty forgettable since we learnt about ancient history in like 6th or 7th grade and info about each dynasty or era was only like a page or half long history as a subject starts to be more detailed from 9th grade but there's no mention of ancient history anywhere, the focus is more in recent history, even today i know more about the french revolution or indian nationalism than our ancient history

Even thought I'm infinitely happy to see you finally react to OSP, whomever suggested you the video should have suggested that you started with the first one in the series ''History Summarized: Ancient India''. You certainly didn't knew about it, Mr. Terry, and maybe who suggested didn't knew either, so I'm not here making criticism, just saying it would be interesting to see you react to the first video, since it covers a lot of things this one didn't, and can make some points feel loose and incomplete to you, but they covered it before. It's a amazing channel, and I look forward for you to react to other videos of them.
Great video, as always. One of the best reaction channels, probably the best, since you don't ''just react'' but add a lot in commentary.

Actually "Hinduism " this word is paryayvachi/similarly of "indian civilization " ... and civilization is not be started by the one or two clan's ... developing a civilization is a long long time periods process ... we indian belive our civilization is old very very old.. more then millions and billions year's .. during this periods of time this indian civilization intract with many many outher civilization like American civilization (maya), african civilization (asura),European civilization (ra), astraluan (malay) ,midil east civilization (yawan) & many more..and developed the best "way of life" The Sanatan Dharam" meining the "low of univers"... Actually Hinduism is "low for civilization" for "civilians of this South East land"..
