- a new tutorial format on how I intend to do painting sessions on the channel in the future, no more multi-part painting vids but a one stop video where I show the beginning to the end of figure project. In this video we take a look at painting Bravo 6's excellent Wardaddy 1/35 resin figure AKA Brad Pitt from the movie Fury !

Brad Pitt would be proud of you. I've seen the movie three times or more. What I noticed is there are few scenes where you can see shadows. Therefore, I feel doing the shadowing is not really needed. But it's based on where in the movie your diorama takes place. After I put a hand-holder on the bottom of the figure, I secure it on a turntable. I then elevate it to eye level.

Shane, there seems to be very little in high quality painting tutorials for military figures on youtube. I hope you continue to produce these videos, I find them essential to my own learning!

Great tutorial , well done Shane , the fig was very crisp and great sculpting detail.
Great job with the painting , perhaps you could have some close ups and the lighting seems dark.

cheers mate! its an older video before I got better sound, lighting and camera but it was a lot of fun to work on really want to return to this figure something in the future, there is a bust of Wardaddy out at the moment with the best likeness of Mr Pitt so might have to get my hands on it before they go out of production
also check out Passion models for unit decals too they are little more well priced and you get load of markings in each set

Great tutorial. Just a small point - as much as I love the MoH music, it drowned your vocals out - maybe a better mic arrangement next time. But still fascinating to see how you build up the shading, etc.
Hi darren thanks for your comment and advice, this video was a done a few years ago and I would recommend checking out one of newer videos as I hope you will find that they are more refined then these earlier videos

Let me check, its been a very long time and can't remember off the top of my head, though I have much newer and better quality tutorial from last year showing a very similar technique. checkout the us.crewman tutorial and I think it will do you better than this video

Hi Shane. Did you do anything to tone down the shade on his jacket? When you applied the shade at first it looked very dark, then later it looked much less so.

do you mean did anything to highlight the jacket ? so first the jacket was based with German Camo Beige I believe (its been a long time lol) then got a wash of Agrax Earth Shade which darkened the shade, then it was brought back up with Camo Beige again

I think you can do with out the music ( or at least turn it down...was a bit loud and was totally covering up your voice towards the end ).

Bone structure looks nothing like Brad Pitt. I've seen one from "life figurines" or something like that wich is spot on.
the cheek structure is a little off, but its not too bad, but your right the larger busts are more to his likeness

its not a great sculpt to be honest
