00:34 🚶‍♀ In Sweden, women approaching men is more common compared to places like Ukraine, where it's frowned upon.
02:08 🤝 Swedish people generally avoid prolonged eye contact, making it less inviting for someone to initiate conversation or make a move.
03:50 💬 Initiating conversations with strangers, particularly in everyday situations, is more accepted in Ukraine compared to Sweden.
05:50 💑 In Ukraine and Sweden, there's an expectation for men to make the first move in dating, demonstrating serious intentions.
07:24 🌡 Swedish dating culture involves testing compatibility physically before pursuing a relationship, contrasting with other countries where emotional connection comes first.
10:08 📚 "Sex Before Coffee" explores Scandinavian dating culture, highlighting how physical intimacy often precedes emotional connection in Sweden.
11:03 💖 Cross-cultural understanding can lead to unique and beautiful dating experiences, as demonstrated by a Swedish guy's thoughtful gestures towards a Ukrainian woman.
11:27 🌟 One of the top attributes appreciated about Swedish guys is their good looks, contributing to their desirability in the dating scene.

I always hated the pressure of having to respond to a girl wanting to have sex straight away. I know that i might not have the opportunity to see her again if i decline the invitation. To me its not a good way to start a relationship and i prefer getting a stronger emotional attachment before going there. Dont let anyone nag you into having sex with them and if they belittle you calling you gay or a pussy they are not for you anyway.

Snippen, remember that conversation is also a part of foreplay. Use it to discover and chose what to do. The only meaning in anything is the meaning that we give to it. Speak your peace and see if she honors that. No harm, no foul in asking. Just smile and say, "Let's talk about that."

It's so interesting hearing how Scandinavian dating is perceived by other cultures. I do think most swedes use their 20's to find out how to approach partners and at the same time have that mutual respect that are typical for Scandinavia.

Sweden is one of the world's most equal countries and this definitely affects dating standards. A date today looks nothing like the same date might have done 30 years ago. Although many other countries have also come a long way in gender equality issues, Sweden has probably taken it a little step further. It is at least as common for women to make contact with men as the other way around. As a woman, you should not expect the man to pay for the dinner, the drink or the coffee, we Swedes are more used to everyone paying for themselves. For many, it is even important to be able to pay for oneself, we are independent. For us, the quality of the date depends as much on the woman as on the man. These are some things that might be perceived as strange in other dating cultures, where the role and responsibility of the man is still prominent when it comes to the success of a date.

Sweden is a dysfunctional feminist cesspool where women now act like men and 'men' act like women. Everything is upside down. There's a lack of male female polarity, to put it lightly. None of these issues in Eastern Europe.

      @@eriklarsson3188 One problem is that a lot of guys act too much like "simps", and this is a turn-off to almost all women;
but women will actually often become "feminine" when they speak to a guy who has an attractive vibe, and this will usually be a guy who is confident in himself, has good manners, and has a playfully flirty and down-to-earth attitude.
It is a little hard to describe, but you immediately recognise a guy like that when you see him in real life.

You mean some 60+ years ago - because 50 years ago - in the 1970's pronounced equality was absolutely the dating standard. So today a young person's greatgrandmother would have been the las generation who expected some very special gendered signs of being polite and making a fuss about roles for ladies and for men.

I once had the most beautiful Swedish woman approach me and ask me to walk over to the bar and have a drink with her. Being American that seemed like a red flag or just felt really weird, so my first reaction was to make an excuse to leave. I've been kicking myself for it for years but it was just a knee-jerk reaction and had no idea she was actually interested in me. I thought maybe she might just be trying to make another guy jealous or something strange. She was genuinely interested in me though.

I mentioned reviewing a previous video that my wife is Ukrainian/Lithuanian, which translates to TRADITIONAL! It was more like dating in the US than it was in Sweden (where I got in trouble offering to pay her meal). I also found eye contact in Sweden, even in dating to not be as long as here in the US. Stefan, you are coming up with some of the most interesting and informative video's I've watched about Sweden. Keep up the good work!

Im always open to say to people that they have a nice shirt or scarf, or hairstyle but im not flirting, i always say that im to social to live in scandinavia.

In the end regardless of culture the most important thing is to complement eachother's energies. To explain this in a nutshell; Guys look for a womenly woman and women for a manly man, these types compliment eachother very well. No girls want a simp because they have more feminine energy and are easily controlled and manipulated by masculine women. And no guy like's a girl with too much masculine energy because we will feel out place and insufficent in this type of situation. We guys like simplicity and women who confuse us and make us feel "unmanly" is definitely a red flag.

Not sure I agree with how swedish women approach the guy more than the guy. That's not really my impression, but I'm not from a big city so I guess it really depends countryside or city.. we tend to be more traditional. However, as a woman I really never allowed the men to pay for anything. To me, that feels like I commit to something and I'm an equal and I don't want to feel as a non-equal. It wasnt that long ago we werent equals, the man had a vote in politics and so it was the man with the wallet, with the social power, with the social rights and it is very much apart of our structure now. I'd say it also reaches into social classes. "I might be poor but I'll still pay my dinner, as we are equals eventhough you earn a million a year" if you get what I mean.

SteMy dafan, This so funny for me to listen to. I feel like I have a bit of understanding of your background because I was your 'neighbor across the river' in the US. I am in the final stages of moving from Sandy, Oregon to a small town about 3.5 hours north of Stockholm. In the last two days I have had one woman ask me out and another telling me that my friends have not done their job in finding me a relationship. I then busted up laughing at what Alina said about older men in Sweden being more outgoing, interested and natural in opening up a conversation. No one ever comes close in guessing my age. In the US women are not inclined to date older men. I find that age is far less of a consideration in Sweden. My dad was Swedish and one of his comeback to me once when I gave him a hard time about getting old was, "Just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean there isn't a fire in the furnace!" I'm sure that he probably heard that from either han far eller farfar. At 73, I now have 'snow on the roof' and I am very clear about what he meant by his comment. I give a lot of credit to my good Nordic genetics. Great job with the videos. Keep it up!
