I used to run a Dargel 16' which has a flat bottom with a tunnel. One other thing that I used to do in very shallow water was to turn hard left to get out of the hole. That put the left side of the boat deeper and the right side more shallow... but the prop stayed at about the same depth. 360 degrees and I was off and running. I don't know how that would work on other boats.... but it worked great for me and the boat that I had. It also kept me from digging trenches in the bottom.

I'm a 621 Walleye Guy and would never have this series of boat without one. Great Vid!

now I finally get it- Its not just for shallow water or boats that have short transoms- its for all boats, performance and safety. Thank you
