Same goes for some southeast Asians. When alot of Vietnamese immigrants moved to my area in the 50s, 60s, and 70s (mainly during the Vietnam war) we saw the local bullfrog and turtle species virtually disappear. My favorite thing about corvids learning to deal with cane toads is them not just realizing that they were poisonous, but specifically realizing that it was a gland on their backs and not permeating through their entire body. They recognized that the problem with this animal wasn't just that it was deadly, but specifically ONLY one part of its anatomy, then also realized that cane toads can't quite get off their backs properly. They visually dissected the cane toad in their head and then realized their best course of action was to grab them by the leg and flip them on their back.
I love how you do these videos, you tell us about the toad but on the other hand you quickly give us a little explanation on the eggs and birds. Which I find amazing
I really love the new level of comedic relief you're bringing to your recent videos dude, spot on. Bang on the mark. Perfect balance between education and entertainment
I love how this guy jumps every time from three to four topics each video and still feels natural when he returns to the first one. Toads --> poison --> egg --> cracked eggs and back to toads
Frogs and bull frogs: wonderful creatures. When I lived in Brazil one evening I "met" one chubby red/brown coloured big frog in front of my door, I protected my hand with a plastic bag and put her in the grass to keep her hidden and safe. Every evening that big frog returned to my front door and my fiancée said that frog fell in love with me ahahahahah
You forgot to mention something crusial. In Australia there are these birds, Kookaburras. They are smart. They take the toads, hit em on branches and rocks until the glands pop and all the poison comes out. By then the frog will be dead to shoot out the poison and the glands will be brocken too!
0:20 i think crows and/or ravens already figured this out, they would flip the cane toads on their back and eat from the belly without going all the way to the poison glands
I think you forgot that crows are a good matchup against these frogs, since they have the intelligence to learn to avoid it. and since they are usually in groups, they can easily learn from other's mistakes.
Here at the philippines, when I was a kid. I used to play this king toad until it dies (so sad sorry) I was curious about that white liquid coming out at their back. Now I know what is that 😂
