Wow, those yellow feathers in the wings are so beautiful. I've seen that type of bird before, but I think without the slo mo it's hard to appreciate how beautiful they really are.
2:55 - that bird taking a shit? Majestic.
I had a Rainbow as a pet when I was a kid. Amazing birds, full of energy and attitude. Like any tame parrot they will preen their human, but when a lorikeet sticks its tongue in your ear, that just feels wrong on so many levels.
Hahaha oh god. I can only imagine
their tongues tickle and feel a bit like a cats.
Lorikeet kisses are the best.
The shot of the flock taking off was really amazing. I imagine it'd be easily replicated with other flocks of birds... unless you've already done so?
I love birds to death, I have two birds myself. But the lorikeets tongue disturbs me haha
If you haven't had a rainbow lorikeet lick you, you haven't lived.
Grate video. I think that the rainbow lorikeets are the funniest birds in the world. I never stop laughing at mine. So cute as well :)
for me, @ 440 when the birds are shown taking flight, in slow motion, it gave me a true sense of just how alien birds seem... they are just so different from other creatures... and the fact that evoloution has mastered travel in so many different ways on this planet... amazing.
I'm not only appreciating the lorikeets, but I'm amazed by how well birds can hear. I'm wearing earbuds and Jojo (my lovebird) is responding to all the bird calls in the video..He's not even in the same room as me!!
Glad you enjoyed! Hope to see you next week for another Slo Mo!
2:50 Wait, what? What the hell?
I love my lori's tongue. They're so cute!
Both awe inspiring and just plain fascinating!
I sat here watching in amazement going, "it's actually Licking stuff up..."
And the flight shots... Simply wow. The group one... I would love a close-up of just the wing beats as a screen saver. Really beautiful work guys.
Of course, can't go with out commenting on the bird pooping. X1
Honestly, All birds do that just prior to lift off to get rid of excess weight that might hinder their flight.
As they say, "everybody poops."
Just not in slo mo. lol
These little knuckle heads are my alarm clock here in Australia
Its called earth unplugged lol so yes it was necessary.
What's interesting to me is the three birds that don't fly away when the rest of the flock does. They are all looking in the same direction as the "first responder" initially was and continue to look in that direction as everyone else flies away. It seems they see what Chicken Little sees, but don't consider it a threat, while the rest are reacting to a possible threat and simply fly away. Two of them never look away from whatever it was, staring it down throughout.
Oh yeah and they have a weird tongue, but some frogs have waaaaay weirder tongues, like five times their body length and a gluey blob on the end.
Lorikeets naturally are timid from larger things, they actually get frights from planes.
Some lorikeets will see more threats in different things.
Their job looks like so much fun
These guys are really loud.
Good for you my croaky old batman... It seems like you've been looking for some action like this so at that note good bye and I hope your bat luck fails you!
More slo mo parrot videos please. That last footage of group flight was best of all.looked like little butterflies. Do a slo mo of ab indian ringback
Sorry Indian ringneck when his eyes change when he is focused on something it's quite scarry. Thanks
from your comment I assume you'd rather not seen it :D. what is your problem with it?
I know right, without Vsauce i wouldn't have known about this, but its great.
What is the point of this question? Who asks something like that?
Why dont the birds catch any diseases?
To the bird? Yes. To Us...? Nah but it Was kinda funny. X3
the sound is not good I am quite disappointed
I would press on ad for you guys if you put one :)
I wonder if there's a designated 'whimp' in each flock...and that one bird takes off first every time, signaling for the rest to fly away from whatever 'danger' it see's as well...o3o Hurm....Maybe take repetitive slow motion camera shots and mark each bird in the flock with a different color...so you can see if the same bird is leaping first..?
Everything looks better in slow motion even poop!
Lots of these birds live near my house. They love gravillea flowers
I'm jealous of these people, SO JEALOUS. c: Lol
I have never seen a bird poo so majestically.
wow, Earth unplugged team, you guys are so cool!! Thanks for the videos!
a better question is, was 3;40 necessary lol
like for the rocket powered Rainbow Lorikeet
For the next bird, you should film a keel-billed toucan. Their tongues are just as long as their beaks and covered in papillae across their entire length. I saw it once when one tried to grab my mom's wedding ring through the bars of its cage.
11 view first like and second comment!
yeah, it wasnt necessary, but 3:04 was
0:57 I skipped to this spot and my g/f thought I was watching porn.
The poop shots were just beautiful!
4:15 So beautiful O_O
...nooo...
2:47 is what you came for
Amazing, enjoyable, thanks!
the poop shots were all necessary
only way it could have been more necessary is if you had been under it looking up with your mouth open.
Cool
I was here about a month ago :D I actually got to feed them!
Watching these birds fly free and wild makes me emotional for some reason.
You should do a video on Pallas's long-tongued bat (Glossophaga soricina). It also has a very weird tongue!
You have gotten 69 likes. ;-]
What about the fire tornado?
I was kinda scared, when I read your comment. When i saw it, I laughed my ass off :DD
That was awesome
Leatherback turtle mouths
Mesmerizing! The tongue
EWWWW
AND I GIVE ZERO FUCKS
Was 2:50 necessary?
well rainbow lorikeets have black "Stripes" on their belly, while swaison's lorikeets have none, which are shown in the video.
That species is a rainbow lorikeet
Rainbow Lorikeets don't have stripes at all...
I bet it as you! :D
2:48. That is all
Dat bird kick
Disturbing
3:00 Poop!
Not first
So weird!
Grow up.
Very
Amazing
Thank
Lol
Nice
AAA-MAAA-ZIING!!
Great show . Glad VSAUSE recommended you
facinating but so gross xD
Beautiful ♥️Lorikeets
Whats up with the music!!
That's disgusting but cool.
That slow mo was hot
This guys talk so funny
Uhh no they don’t
yeaj
Beautiful!
It looks like a worn in its mouth
Those birds are dicks :P Had a few fighting off larger parrots at a bird feeder in my neighbours yard the other day, and by larger parrots I mean Galahs, which if you google them would be almost twice the mass. These guys were so agro towards the Galahs that the Galahs ate the scraps off the ground rather than risk a confrontation! Awesome video!
