Just to clarify! In most countries it is easy to re-register an unregistered vehicle (US for example) that has been in an accident while in Australia it is a bit of a process. We have strict rules and guidelines to follow for an unregistered vehicle with an accident history before it can be approved for registration. Yes, this R34 was in an accident and insurance paid out the previous owner but it is still registered and has a 'No Write Off Record'. This is a huge bonus as all I do is pay a yearly fee even though I am not driving the car which is a bummer. Everybody has seen the damage by now so having a 'No Write Off Record' on paper for re-sale purposes doesn't mean much. In saying that the car will never go for sale. Hope that explains a few things to overseas viewers :D

I'm from the UK and I'm also doing a poor man's GTR! using GTR panels. And just today I've started welding in my new slam panel and cross member due to rust and a small accident. GTR rear fenders will be delivered next week, so I will need to get the rear screen and side glass removed.
It is true when they say if you can dedicate the time and love into any car that takes it from current state to a fully functioning form of automotive art, no matter how much money and problems burned through along the way... it reminds you in the end that it was worth every penny spent and every step that was taken.
Dude you are 100% right. This car will be more than just a build. The build will take a while and episodes will be as good as I can make them but I’ve got something bigger in mind once the car is done.. just gonna have to wait and see one day

SUBSCRIBED! not only the GTR build caught my attention, but recently I had to rebuild my car's front end on my garage and it took months, almost a year. because I had to figure out on my own how to do basically everything you just did in this video. I almost teared up right now finding out I did things how they should be done for the front end to line up and fit correctly.
This is pretty insane, subbed just for this build. Recently bought an r32 and finding any parts for an affordable price is horrible so I wish you the very best of luck.

I did a similar sort of thing except i bought a wrecked R34 GTR & transferd everything over into my R34 GTT. I have kept it RWD with an R34 GTT Gear box. But otherwise than that its all R34 GTR. I transferd every single wiring loom & fusebox etc. The chassis are around 95% the same if you start with a GTT. GTS are a bit different in that they dont have alot of the braceing that the GTTs do. Ive done the complete interior swap & everything works as per factory inc the MFD screen & all its functions. Your vids great to watch & its good to see you save the car rather than scrap it. Im keen to see the next video. Keep em comming
Dude that’s awesome! Sounds like a really good setup. I’m sure when you did it all, prices of GTR parts were a lot cheaper. Now anything with the letter GTR is triple the price of normal Skyline parts. Would have been a shame to scrap the car

Hope you have deep pockets. 34 gtrs are currently 100k+ NZD. And going on history, when the 32s became american fed legal they tripled in value. Can absolutely guaruntee the same will happen with r34s and there was less of them made.

You don’t necessarily need a crashed one. Just keep an eye out for a cheap one
