I’d never drag race my 87 911, that I’ve bought 30 years ago, it’s not a 0-60 car. But from 60 to 140 I’ve yet to lose to a similarly aged auto. And @ 140 there is pedal left, but my testies aren’t big enough to go there. Just turned 90k miles. Never a raindrop or snowflake on the Carmine Red beauty. i really dont see the point of putting the F40 in these videos Each video they are choosing to startt it by pulling away from idle, not even putting a few thousand PRM on board to get it off the line at a rate that will spin the turbos up in a reaosnable time... The F40 in this never gets sub 14seconds.... in period even if you botched the start and lit the tyres then bogged down you were mid 13s... and in reality it should be pulling low 12s.... A tesla plaid wont pull 9sec if you choose not to do the ludicous mode and dont go through the process to setup the cheetah mode start...
Exactly. That F40 definitely isn’t running right hence the way it moves and how slow it is. I don’t understand why they’re running a car that clearly has issues.
@@yoyoyocrazyfool93 I don't think it has issues.. I think they don't want to risk heating the clutch and shocking the driveshafts with an aggressive start ...but you could still use 2500rpm and feed it in instead of just pulling away from idle
@@michaelking6596 I’ve seen countless people thrash F40’s with no issues afterwards, that’s what they’re built for. It’s not a frail delicate object it’s capable. Just because it’s older doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. These people either don’t know how to drive or the car is mechanically damaged.
@@yoyoyocrazyfool93 with all due respect, you sit there hard launching it or side stepping the clutch and you will have issues with the F40.. so i get having mechanical sympathy for it, but as i said earlier.. you could still do better than pulling away from idle as that's a pointless exercise for this video... do a roll race and reduce the stress and it would be more useful.

In fact, I’d expect a Yellowbird is closer to an 11 second car; those were built for Autobaun runs, which meant the gearing favored top speed over off-the-line quickness.
Those 3.0 turbos are complete dogs off the line and are terrible around town. Great highway cars, though! Magnus was certainly attempting to get the best out of it.
