You never know. Hitogami could potentially be lying or with his statement about magic an afterlife could be created. This also feels like Bleach’s system so maybe he got sent to another world kinda like how in Bleach dense reiatsu gets sent to hell. Future Rudeus also saw Slyphy and Roxy which could be a sign of an afterlife or just him hallucinating
The fact that Rudeus has a soul that could be reincarnated at all suggests that there IS something beyond the physical worlds. We don't know that Hitogami actually knows anything about the afterlife. He could simply be messing with Rudeus, as he DID do by threatening his family. Anything to get a rise out of Rudy. 🤷♂️
I can agree on this with Rudy he lived his second life to the fullest, enjoy magic, fight monsters, have a harem truly a romance for a no lifer old rudeus.

Roxy will only get to be around 200 years old, but Sylphie on the other hand being part Elf might live for many hundreds of years potentially. It's speculated that Elinalise has actually been around for a LONG time. As in at least to the time of the original Laplace.

that if it was good ending, there's always other possibilties and headcanons, one of them like yours, him being crippiled and becoming homeless which is bad ending, but likely the parents of the girl he saved will help him turning it into good ending
that's very wholesome and ironically true, without his enemy hitogami, likely he wouldn't get amazing life like having this big family since this adventure made him bond with roxy, eris and sylphy better
What Rudeus says about Hitogami is exactly what I have been thinking. I believe Hitogami's messing around is what contributes to his own downfall. People on the net are calling me stupid or not even reading the novel because they think if Hitogami doesn't do anything he can't change his fate.
However just as Rudeus says, if Hitogami hasn't done all the evil things, Rudeus won't be achieving so much in his life. At the end Hitogami's hostility toward Rudeus and his children unite Rudeus with his wives, friends, and children to seal him up. Hitogami sees the consequences but fails to see the cause. If Hitogami really befriends Rudeus, Orsted has zero chance winning.
Tldr; Hitogami screws himself. He self-fulfills his own prophecy.

In english, with words already ending in a 's', the possessive apostrophe comes after the 's' with nothing else. So it would by Rudeus'.
One thing I dislike about Mushoku Tensei is after the Superd Village arc and Rudeus defeats Kalman the 3rd the become the 7th great power, he does essentially nothing for about 60 years and dies.
He could be doing a lot more to help with Orsted. A lot of the side stories are his kids being aimless looking for something in life. I know he wants his kids to have the ability to choose but I would expect him to follow that up with "... you could also help with Orsted Corp. Or the Rude Mercenary company."
All of his children are monsters, even Christina and Liliy are both Advanced Swordsman and in each kind of magic too. None of his kids are slouches in combat by the time theyre leaving home.
i think the author was just concentrating on his kids more, rudeus was still recruiting members after the kalman 3 fight(and now that his daughter might be royalty what makes you think asura wouldnt help orsted?)

They believe there are meaning to their suffer. If you are such a strong believer, you can find peace in hardships but deeply are you truely satisfied? I always wanted to feel satisfied. I don't mind have a life as tough as Rudes. I just want all my suffering actually mean something.

If you've read the light novel all the way up to volume 15 then you should know that the current timeline is an alternate timeline. In the original timeline Roxy and Sylphy die due to Hitogami's manipulation and the only child that Rudeus has is Lucy

It ends with a conversation with Hitogami and hitogami tells him that after he died, he will just disperse into nothingness and he said that he would try his best to bring ruin to everything rudeus has built.
