    This is the greatest deck i have ever seen. Throwing worms at people kills them 40-100% it seems. Im sick in bed, and this still made my day. Thanks for that.

      take out the Magus of the Moon and Huntmaster to run 2 or take the Finks out as well to play the playset?

      Yes! It is a fine aggro card and it really helps to combo of with cremator

      Mitch no Uh he scoops when there's no point in continuing, I'll admit he scoops early sometimes, but this game there was none of that.

      In that case I believe before conceding Seth should take a minute and reach every card in his hand. He's often threw games by hitting that concede button instead of just winning. I do understand his mindset, but it is sadly just plain wrong, unless you're playing for fun rather than playing to win, which is completly fine, but if you're actually trying to win, what he's doing is most definitly wrong.

    • @Nightwing690
      @Nightwing690 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's bad so he can scoop whenever he feels like he played wrong, which is often.

    I really feel like Azusa, Lost but Seeking would be really strong in this deck for a few reasons, eldrich evolution works with her to find the win con, and she keeps lands out of your hand so you don't get stuck with them when trying to discard... (Is Azusa modern legal?)

  • @turnipy88

    Is ingot chewer kinda better than ancient grudge in this deck? Not instant speed and no flashback, but it is a 4 power creature so it's a little extra damage if you whiff with it in hand, and it costs only 1 red if evoked.

  • @Artaimus
    @Artaimus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Out of curiosity, why no Combustible Gearhulk to double up the potential damage dealing? You've already got a bunch of high cost stuff.

  • @COZYTW
    @COZYTW 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seth, can you make a Brewer's Minute based on which ramp is better - Odd-mana or Even-mana ramp
    I like the Odd package with Birds of Paradise and Hierarch, but they often get destroyed very early on. I like Sakura Tribe Elder and Explore as well, but there are times where the first turn Arbor Elf can block a Goblin and the one attack step mattered against aggro.
    I know it's mainly an issue of the deck and the payouts they are meant to ramp into, but even-ramp has the plus advantage of cycling themselves or thinning the deck briefly. In addition, Odd ramp has the mana efficiency advantage.
    Is it recommended to play only one type exclusive or both types? If both, is there a healthy ratio to aim for?

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We did one one Ramp Math a while ago, it mostly depends on on the deck.

    Was a noose constrictor type card not worth the cost? So you can make your hand just the big thing when you cremate? Not like a bunch of them but maybe 1 to tutor up.

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that Noose Constrictor could be a really good addition.

  • @MelonGator
    @MelonGator 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    think key to the city would be solid in this deck, can discard to trim your hand as well as making stuff unblockable to get in the few points of damage you need.

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohh, Key seems like good idea.

  • @michaeldavidson6537
    @michaeldavidson6537 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Two thoughts. First, even though you got lucky a few times, in each of those games you were unlucky to miss a window to just draw a land and then win. So in that way you could see it a wash in the luck department. Second, what do you think about a Noose Constrictor or two?

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having a way to discard at will seems like it could be good. It would be nice to not have to worry about accidentally discarding a land to Cremator.

    • @MTGGoldfish

    Maybe you could cut the middle curve creatures for combustible gearhulks, indomitable creativity and more mana dorks? Make it higher risk higher reward. I also feel like the sb could use a nourishing shoal since thats immediate lights out against some deck just gaining twelve to 15. Kiki-Jiki might also be great.

  • @nizzidramanytt
    @nizzidramanytt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    In your first match against the 4th round bant deck couldnt you of grabbed a fana shamman over the huntsmaster so if u drew any creature aka ur birds u drew u ditch it for a wurm and dome them for the win, i know u were playing to buy a turn but think there u would of still got that turn, i didnt add up the board i dont know if had to do huntmaster for the extra blocker or not but that could of been a line we took also

    The real way to do this deck involves Death's Shadow, Goyf, Bob, SSG + Mishra's Bauble, and Kolaghan's command. Dump your hand, and chuck a shadow at them since it's always 13/13 in hand. Command either buys back a dead shadow to enable it or you can target yourself with the discard mode to ensure a hit. The regular beatdown plan is a lot better too.
    20 Lands
    4 Simian Spirit Guide
    4 Mishra's Bauble
    4 Death's Shadow
    4 Lightning Bolt
    4 Thoughtseize
    1 IoK
    4 Dark Confidant
    4 Tarmogoyf
    2 Grim Flayer
    1 Scavenging Ooze
    4 Eldritch Evolution
    3 Kolaghan's Command
    1 Cremator
    SB
    4 BoP
    1 Magus of the Moon
    1 Eidolon of Rhetoric
    1 Phyrexian Revoker
    1 Huntmaster
    + some flex slots which can be more 2-drops like Eidolon of the Great Revel
    Can also run summoner's pact to help empty hand (since you can either grab a wurm/ghalta or just fail to find to go down a card)

    At 8:37, I don't think you lose by playing Eldritch Evolution. Usually when I think you've missed something, it's just me not thinking it through all the way, but I genuinely can't figure out his window to win in response here. Cast Eldritch Evolution, sac a creature as part of the cost; he can't pop the trigger before it hits the graveyard. Eldritch Evolution exiles itself, so no triggers. Get Cragganwick and discard a card, but it deals damage as part of the resolution of that ability, so if you toss a Wurm or Ghalta, you win before the trigger matters. Am I messing that up somehow?

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I think you might be right. I wasn't think about Eldritch Evolution exiling itself.

    • @melissagrenier2200
      @melissagrenier2200 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @HRPufnsting
      @HRPufnsting 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was one game he didn't play and crack a fetch that could have been used to thin the deck, I think he even drew a land when he didn't want to(was like game three or four maybe don't remember). Though I'm all for holding extra lands to help bluff it seems slightly counterproductive to keep extra stuff in hand when your main win combo relies on you pitching cards at random and hoping the card is a creature.

    Your so lucky you didn’t get a mono filter land hand with this deck. Playing a play set of filter lands is super odd. Also, putting two board wipes in the sideboard is weird, especially in a go-wide deck like this. Something like beast within is probably better than the slagstorm.

    • @jokul_

    • @TheKingbleda

      I feel like the best option would've been to bolt the strangleroot geist and then eat it with the ooze before the guild mage enters to make it a 3/3 so your opponent can't attack in or start the combo. I mean you are still dead to any removal, discard, random damage, mill, or a light breeze, but at least then you might have the out of a random swing in with Ghalta or something before your opponent gets to 7 mana for the guaranteed kill. Super unlikely, but possible...ish

    At 1:06:50ish, you could have used eldrch evo, searched for a worldspine in response to the path

    So thought of an idea
    How would a land that could tap for three specific mana but enters tapped if you control a land work. Would it be op? Just to clear up, my three mana I mean three specific individual mana. Compare it to the dual lands on kaladesh.

    • @legoman727
      @legoman727 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      that would be the single most broken land ever printed oh my god

    • @gophermanX
      @gophermanX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Compare this to bounce lands like Izzet Boilerworks. It always enters tapped (already worse than your proposed land), requires you to set yourself back a land drop, AND only produces 2 mana. Your land would be massively overpowered

    • @samuelmeyer4119
      @samuelmeyer4119 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A land that tapped for 3 mana and enters tapped regardless would be insane so yours would be way better.

    • @matthewstruble8881
      @matthewstruble8881 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it would be incredibly broken, even if it just always entered tapped it would be incredibly broken.
