I learnt this over the course of my career that merely providing information and numbers is not enough. In order to for you to provide meaningful contribution as the Finance business partner, you need to provide recommendations so that Operations and Sales Management can make decisions. This is different from providing multiple options and scenarios and sharing the risks and opportunities of each. While its good to share that information, you have to be able to be courageous enough to advise what decision should be made in light of all the possibilities and available information.
