On the CL: Is there any way to magnify the image in low light conditions without getting a completely dark image? It really pisses me off when I try to use focus peaking magnifiying the image and I can‘t see anything at all because the magnified image is way darker than the original one. I don‘t get it, does it really work like this or am I doing something wrong? If this is the way it works I have to say it is a huge crap! Fujis do it way better at this point; even if you are in a very dark situation, you turn the shutter dial down and you get a clear, bright, magnified preview of your image with the red edges of your focus peaking. I‘m not able to get this on the CL, which I absolutely adore, but this is the one thing that makes me nuts!
New Orleans is a photographers dream!!!! I used my M10-D there and got some fab vibrant shots! I got a Coca Cola truck along Frenchman Street. Lovely reds!

Hello guys thanks for these great talks, I really enjoy them. I have an M10 Monochrom (21 elmar, 35 lux fle, 50 apo cron, 90 apo cron) and an SL2 ( 3 zooms and 35 and 75 apo summicron), all was going well and I am happy with my gear..... until the M10R!! so now the question is, how does the M10R compare with the M10 Mono? I know the Mono has superior ISO but with the R you can still mix the colour channels, and furthermore, how does the M10R compare with the SL2? I was thinking of either leaving things as they are or selling the Mono for the R? The other options is to add the R, but that seems like clutter?
What is the difference between "Black" & "Anodized Black", "Silver" and "Silver Anodized" M lenses finish? are they all brass? and why silver is usually more expensive than black. ig question did not come through during the episode, but wish I could get an answer

Re. older lenses on the M10 Monochrom, my entire set-21mm through 90mm-is made up of Mandler designs from the early ‘70s through early ‘80s. I originally got ‘em pre-digital for b&w film use, and all are terrific on the Mono.
i have the leica Q2 which is basically a 28mm. I also have the SL2 with the 50 apo f2 lens. My question is i want to get another SL lens. should I get the 90mm or the 35mm lens for my sl2?
Noted. As much as we love the R lenses, gathering most (or all) of them, like we've done for M and L mount episodes, poses a significant logistical challenge. It might happen, but might take some time to put together the pieces.
@@RedDotForum Yep, I totally understand. I am a filmmaker and use the Rs on full frame cine cameras to much success. They have been used on major productions such as HBO The Outsider and Netflix Ozark S3. As a by product I also use them for my stills and love the patina. I have the 19mm v2, 35 lux, 35 cron, 50 lux, 80 lux, 135 and 180 elmarits. In a lot of ways the R lenses have been my gateway into Leica. The quality of these lenses has me very curious to try sl, m and s lenses.

How do I focus properly with the Leica cL using the Elmar Vario ?

The 35mm APO-SL is an amazing lens. But you already have a 28 and 50. You'd gain far more flexibility and creative options adding a 90mm to your kit.

I keep telling David we need to have beers on the table so I'll want to hang around longer...but in all seriousness, we want to make the episodes watchable for future viewing and it's my job to keep them around 2 hours or so. Fortunately even if we can't answer 100% of the questions "on air" we are always available via email.
