I get times change and places shut down for reasons/progress, but its still sad to see. Makes me miss the 80s and 90s even more. Places like this held so many good memories for so many people and now its just gone.
The carvery was my go to for lunch when I worked locally. John and his wife were such a lovely couple, always remembered my order no matter how busy they were. Sad to see the state of the place now
The furniture showroom was the project design office for the new hotel. They build mock ups of the bathrooms and the guestrooms to decide on fixtures, fittings, paint and tiles.
Amazing seeing that place the way it is now. I remember when it used to be full of people once upon a time. That eatery area was very busy. If you didn’t get a table for lunch in time then you'd have to go elsewhere.
My heart goes out to all these business owners and employees. The amount of $$$ incested to have it sll clise down. It is happening way too often these days 😢
That dome shaped roof at 22:01 in the video reminds me of Parra Mall in Parramatta because Parra Mall had this exact roof shape and Parra Mall has been demolished now to make way for the Parramatta Metro station
This use to be such a great little shopping mall. The oak milk bar there was the best! Saddens me that people can destroy a place that use to have so much life. It won’t be long until the council destroy it for good and probably put more apartments there to add to the already congested traffic
yo i visited it when it was still open and when it closed and before they had cameras. It got wrecked by local teenagers but it was beautiful when it was pristine .
Great video! I visited this mall many times through it’s abandonment. So so interesting to watch it slowly evolve. When exactly did you visit? The top offices seem to have more in them than when i went. Did you visit the church too? I went in with a matę and too school kids - they asked us to come in with them and ive never felt like a more badass big sister. I could go for days about everything i saw/found. I have a box newspaper clippings from ’95-97 from a storwge room(i dont like taking from abandoned places, but they were bound for destruction at the hands of the kids sacking the place).
Oh also! Just Heard you say ’vial’, and it Reminded me - i found a vial of blood in one of the hallways. Definitely blood and Not an agricultural sample - had a person name and looooooked like blood
I was going to ask how that $200 table hasn’t been nicked yet but then I remembered novo castrains are stupid people with bones in their brain that would rather make loud noises and say “fwark” while breaking stuff
You knew the 'kids' were trashing the place while you were there...? Why didn't you quickly snap their faces on your video...... I bet their parents would have been proud of the wonderful kids they'd raised ...lol Great video, kind of sad to watch really :(

Yeah exactly. It's already trashed and will be demolished soon anyway. Besides, it's not like viewers are going to fly to the other side of the country to further trash this place. I'd assume most of the damage is caused by low lives who live in the area.

The office suites with the round windows was a Chinese restaurant in the 1970s and 80s called the moonlight palace.

22:09 I'm fairly sure that used to be a Rivers store
I am wondering if 'Grain Library Felicity Fraser' is the Upper Hunter Valley Felicity Fraser who was sentenced to 9.5 years for drugs?

This is so disgusting what a terrible waste of space these shops should be operating and here they are decaying
This is the shopping centre in the old Newcastle Street Newcastle I lived and grew up there
This is my neck of the woods. Even on opening it just seemed like a silly idea. Everything hidden off the Main St.
I sussed the location in about 30 seconds from 1 simple and innocent clue
great video mate i did this for my channel but only part of the building was accesible at the time its now pretty ssecure
the big shop you thought was a furniture place was rivers
What a waste .
Check out the work of the vandals.
Wow found it but I can’t tell location
