How to Fix a Mower that Cuts Uneven

Picked up a mower that after testing was mowing very unevenly. After digging through the mower you wouldn't believe at how many things weren't connected.

Looks like a while back their cousin Pookie took it apart to work on it and had parts left over when he was done. Then it wound up getting sold cheap as it never worked right again. Just a guess here based on my 50 years as a mechanic. ;-) Nice presentation! Thank you! I kept an ancient Craftsman LT1000 running for 13 years.

That's exactly the same as my old Ranch King. That hairpin has a tendency to pop off if you hit something with the right side of the mower deck. And then your bar will work itself out of the holes. Also the support bars on that side will try to bend on you.

I have a 2015 24” Troy bilt pony. I can’t figure out why my deck brake won’t let off the pulley on 1 side and when I put my deck back on, standing at the front of the mower, 1 side is more forward than the other side.
