I recently decided to get an RZ67 - and with that decision, I faced exactly these thoughts, too. Because with these analog techniques there is, on the one hand, the relief of putting more time into one frame, so you may be more calming and concentrating on a single photo itself, instead of firing SD cards full. But with that, also the pressure is there to creating worthwhile pieces. But most often it's the artist oneself - I assume - who puts all this pressure on oneself. And it's just right, to step back from time to time to reflect on the things we actually try to accomplish. And the most important thing is, to trust the process - that also you've to fail, to get further.
felt this way in madrid last year decided to get a mju ii for travel / everyday love how it can capture things on film with a little more fidelity and soul than my phone, without breaking the energy of a moment
Man I read the title in my head as "Why I didn't take any photos on my Mamiya trip" for 5 times before I realized. But anyway, I too own an RZ67, and as you can already tell, am a huge fan of it. Recently brought it with me on my trips to Bhutan and India and I feel the exact same way. I think this is one of the downsides of easy access to images via social media. Yes, it's great to get inspiration but at the same time, it's kind of like "analysis paralysis" to me. I sort of build this imaginary standard in my head of the photos I gotta take in order for them to be different and good. Often times I find that i'm placing too much pressure on myself that it takes enjoyment out of the process. Great advice by your girlfriend. Think i'm gonna try to not be influenced by the work of others for my next trip and bring my own unique vision to my photos.
haha I got confused too when I read it again after seeing your comment. Bhutan and India must have been epic, please share a link if you have any shots published!
I post some stuff on my ig @xavierpoh_ and on my website www.xavierpoh.com. Just came back from India a week ago so still waiting to get scans back. I accidentally left my film in my checked luggage and I’ve read bad things about checked luggage x-ray on film so fingers crossed
@@xvr Your pictures are amazing, my gf loved them too! Looking forward to seeing your India set. You need to post more on your portfolio, i couldnt get enough!
Dude, is not you, I’ve been living in Miami for a long time and as a photographer I can tell you this city is extremely uninspiring for any type of street or landscape Photographers. All you have are pretty beaches and that’s it. As a photographer if you like to shoot luxury real estate, Tacky women in bikinis, Rap music videos or if You’re inspired by the movies of Michael Bay then this is the place to be. Other than that, don’t plan a photography trip to Miami.

Sometimes, it's nice to set aside "jobs" or "tasks" and just enjoy a vacation :)
It sure is!
Where did you get your jumper from, looks very cosy :)
Its the most cosiest jumper Ive ever worn :). got it for £5 from a 2nd hand store in my local town. No branding on it I'm afraid
