Great news Oliver about the tours. I am Canadian, but for the last few years a friend and I have been doing tours in Europe with LoveForRide (so far Andalucia/Sierra Nevada, Sardinia, Corsica, Tuscany/Northern Italy, Dolomites, Appenines). Covered some of the passes in this video. Need to do MORE. Going to check out your website now!
@@davidkendall1614 thank you very much David. I would love to welcome you to one of my tours next season 😉 looks like you have been on this side of the Atlantic a lot and you have traveled some amazing regions. Norway, the Balkans and of course the French Alps (I offer 2 tours in France) would fit right in. Let me know if you any questions- my email and phone contact are on my website - cheers Oliver
@@MotoVibes I am still on the website. Love that it is based out of Munich, as that makes for an easy gateway given that we have frequently passed through Munich enroute to Italy. At this point the 10-day French Alps and Balkans have my attention, but I like your route in the Dolomites. I am going to bounce it off the guy that went with me last June. See if he is game. 😁
@ Sounds great 😉 Munich is an excellent starting point and the logistics are great - Stephan has teamed up with a hotel not far from the airport where the rental bikes get handed over. We started our French Alps tour there a few month ago and the gang was on the brand new BMW R 1300 GS and KTM 1290 SAS 😉
That great news my German friend I never realised that you organised tours 👍🏻 I will be checking you web site and squeezing in at least one trip with you
@ yeah - and you don’t even have to be that fast to get to a 1300 euro fine. Especially the long stretches in Switzerland are a bit of a drag as I feel I am looking more an the speedometer than the scenery but the passes are always rewarding
Guess I rode a good number of them in two days last September, going from near the Swiss passes (Nufenenpass, San Gotthard, Furkapass, Grimselpass, Sustenpass, Tremola, San Bernardino, Splugenpass, Malojapass, Berninapass) to Friuli (via the Stelvio, Sella, Pordoi, Giau, all those under torrential rain 😅). Although the Stelvio may be overrated, it is a must do, because of the stunning view on the way down to Prato. My favorite of the lot is the Giau : I think the road has a variety of turns, from the tight hairpin to the large sweeping curve that makes it impossible to get bored of, and that scenery is just jawbreaking (even enjoyed the snow up there this time 😱 which changes the looks of it). The Sella Ronda is awesome, and I think the Pordoi cable car is a must do too. Guess I need to get back there to check the Rombo pass I have not ridden since 2007 🫣 Thx for sharing this bucket list 🙏✌️👍
@MotoVibes Yes, it is a place to put a checkmark on. The nature is stunning too. We where there in 2012 on a September drizzling day. Climbing up Traffic was veri light nevertheless lots of people on top of it. I'm glad that I was there, but didn't go there again. Passes like Galibier, l'ezoard, Gavia... I'll do all over again.
@@FxRiderST absolutely - these are at the very top of my favorites list too - I will do a similar video on the French Alps passes - and the Galibier and the Col d'Izoard will be on the top passes list 😉
