Looks so good. Such a great helper, and a great way to learn to cook. When my grandsons were younger, we would do a lot of cooking of different things, I had them write the recipe down in their own writing and then they drew pictures of what it was. When I overheard that my brother was starting fractions the comming year I freaked. He was horrified at math. All summer I had him choose a recipe and double or halve it. He looked at the cup marks at the fractions. He got pretty fast at it. Of course it was doubling if it was a sweet. Lol. @@kingsdaughter3138 absolutely. As a life-long cook myself, I see the interest, though subtle, that will become second nature. All people have a psychological NEED to impact their environment, and cooking fit the bill, for me. My first weekly chore as a pre-schooler, was to make Sunday’s dessert (cobbler), for our extended family’s dinner. This was in the ‘50’s and I’m STILL cooking, professionally, at age 70😊
Thanks for being real and so knowledgeable. I feel like you are honest and kind. Definitely subscribed. Making videos like you do also and you’re an inspiration so thank you. Hugs, Rene
LOL His little face when he asked what are we going to do while these are baking and you answered "we're going to wash dishes". That just doesn't sound fun Mom! So cute! I feel the same way about doing dishes little one. Those crackers look delicious!
I made the crackers using the non-sourdough recipe and they are really great! I used the single batch recipe and added 1/4 teaspoon of sugar. I didn’t have a way to spritz them with butter so I dabbed them with melted butter using a pastry brush and sprinkled a pinch of popcorn salt on them. They were so much better than I imagined! Thanks for the recipe, I will make them often I think.
My dad started rotational grazing on seventeen acres maybe forty years ago. It was amazing, the transformation .... after ten or twenty years, my mother told me about the dairy farm that her dad owned back in the 1940s. She said that they found the same thing regarding the size. If the area was too large, the cattle had a tendency to trample everything looking for that one special blade of grass. Praise the Lord for electric fences! They make a big difference in the efficiency of rotational grazing.
I love seeing you teaching your children skills that will help them in the future. My grand parents raised me so hey came from an older generation both born in the 1930s. My mom was big on teaching us skills. She always said “ I want to know if something happens to me my kids know how to take care of themselves.” So as soon as we were all enough to use the stove she taught us how to do the basics. As soon as we could reach the washer and dryer we had to wash and do our own laundry. If we were going to church camp or a rip anywhere we knew how to pack our own bags. She would go behind us and check to make sure we have enough of everything we needed. She said “If you’re old enough to go to over night camp for a week you are old enough to pack your bag. I did that with my oldest nieces as well because they were with us all the time when they were little. My nieces will say Hey do you remember when we did xyz. That is a great feeling to know i taught them something or helped them not be afraid to do something. Thank you for sharing your skills with us as well. I haven’t stared canning yet but im trying to research it that way im not as scared when i start doing it. My mom did it for a short time when i was younger but i was a that age where i didnt really care to learn and she wouldnt let us near the stove while she did that scared we would get burnt.
I taught my granddaughter to bake in the kitchen when she was 5 and up. I remember her tasting it with her finger, she finally stopped doing that when she got enough bad tastes. lol thank God for patience.❤
Just found your videos a couple days ago. I’m 65 yrs old and love to do my own cooking as much as I can to avoid the hidden additives. I can tell I’m going to be able to learn a lot from you. Thanks for your down to earth cooking! 😃
Last night I looked and looked for just this usage. I was flabbergasted to not find one batter recipe. Now, here you are like magic. I have a batch in the oven already… garlic, onion, rosemary, thyme, cracked pepper and sea salt. Next, I will sub peanut butter for the butter, add sweetener and a touch of vanilla. Then, I’ll do walnut and sorghum. Those are flavors I have on hand. I cook and can everything from scratch too and have a year round greenhouse. Being hungry or sick from food is not fun. I’ve been there! Thank you!
We have 4 sons. They learned to cook at least some basics. Told them they may not always have someone to cook for them. Mid aged adults now, they do quite well.
I have made these crackers twice now. I must not be getting them as thin as you do because they have to cook longer, but that is on me, not you. I will say they are absolutely delicious! I have to limit the times I make them because it is so hard not to eat them all! I swear I have more energy and a much better frame of mind after watching your videos! Harrison is such a treasure and the way he looks at you when you talk is full of love. He looks to be around the age of the children I taught as a year one teacher. His smile immediately made me smile which is a blessing as most days I'm home alone and don't speak to anyone for days on end. I'm social when I go out but because I'm ill it's hard to just get ready for the day sometimes and both of my parents passed away in the last few years. It's not as depressing as it sounds as I have two puppies and enjoy my own company. ❤

I love your son in the kitchen with you.
How fun.
Wow,Thank you for sharing,I’m making crackers tomorrow morning,And yes seeing the Cows hit the green grass after a long cold Winter is awesome ❤
I taught my granddaughter to bake in the kitchen when she was 5 and up. I remember her tasting it with her finger, she finally stopped doing that when she got enough bad tastes. lol thank God for patience.❤
I could watch you all day! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, recipes, and your family with us! You are one in a million!!!
Um...ya...you are such a wonderful mother!! Kind, caring, patient, tolerant, giving, loving, nurturing, encouraging AND extremely educated and talented in your craft. High five for your hard work at helping the world have a better future and thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Harrison jumped right in and helped rinse the dishes…💕👍👍💕🥰
You are such a good mother! I wish I had your patience!
