congratulations on your release on Createandcraft love all your products rangers is wonderful have a beautiful weekend Simon oh and loved the gelli plate inking thank you
How great to be able to make your own custom ombre pads! I do not have gel plates, but that circle one was interesting -- not too big, so maybe I could try that. (The big ones intimidate me! ) :D I've been stamping for several decades. Way back, we had the custom stamp pad material. We stamped on the pad in Stazon and then colored the different parts of the stamp image with reinkers. The Stazon image was just for reference for inking the pad and will not come off. For instance, I have a stamp that is an image of a local waterfall. I inked the pad to have blue on the falls, brown on the rocks, green for the trees, etc. Then, I could ink the stamp over and over, looking like I used daubers on each part. If you have a set of flowers and leaves and you want to have them specific colors, you can use this method. Great for making multiple cards in one go: Halloween, Christmas, thank you, birthday. . . I hope this makes sense to all the dudes and dudettes here!
Simon, I am a retired teacher. My life has been dedicated to teaching people how to do things, and sometimes we have to just go to the basics! I appreciate that you do that - yes, you do some more complex stuff, but I think it's great you're willing to attack those basic techniques that some people need! You're awesome!
Simon thank you for another excellent video! I received my “Super Simon Stamps” today. I find your stamps to be equally incredible art and a terrific value. Each set provides endless opportunities to create stories in multiple art forms. I’m looking forward to getting your inks! I found your suggestions to be helpful; especially for those times when I stumble on how to begin a project. You are an inspiration!!! May God bless you as you continue to be the authentic you!🤗
I just saw you in Create and Craft and love your products. I am definitely going to buy. I am very interested in your inks. I am so glad I saw the show. I do a lot of shopping with C&C. I am definitely going to watch your other videos. Thank you Simon😄
Thanks for these great new techniques Simon! I love the way you think outside the square and are so generous in sharing your ideas. You have inspired me to explore my re-inkers!
fabulous techniques simon i got tons of re inkers not enough ink pads ......so seeing thease techniques well i cant wait to use them and know now the re inkers arnt gonna go to waste .......loved the gel plate technique and water colour brush idea with the ink in the bottle .....thx for the awesome tutorial keep up the good work.........
Favorite tip: filling the brush pens. What a great way to carry over your favorite ink pad colors! I often find myself not using all the ink from the mat when dabbing my ink pad directly onto my media mat and wipe it clean so I don't transfer it onto anything else. ie. Clothes and elbows :)
Great ideas. I hadn't thought of using my reinkers on the gelli plates. I love the look it gives. A technique I'll be trying one day soon. Thanks for another info filled video.
The ink pens are my pick. A less expensive way to create a custom ink pad is the baby wipe technique. Several wipes are folded up then the reinkers are used as you did with the ink pad material
I can't wait to get a gel press plate and try some of the techniques I've seen used with them! On a more practical side, the water color pen and ombre custom inkers would work well for my job--we're often in public venues like a restaurant for crafting. Thoughts on getting reinkers in general, if you have ink pads with colors you really enjoy using...best to get the reinker right away or as soon as possible. Your line is new and your colors aren't going to change in the near future, but colors do change periodically. Realizing you don't have a reinker for a color you really like using and finding out it has been discontinued--that would be me, lol.
Thanks so much Terry! You will definitely enjoy using the Gel press plate... they are so versatile! :) I agree on the reinkers... it just solidifies your investment in the inks and makes them last even longer.
Simone, I really enjoyed this weeks video as well as all of them, great job!!!!! Keep up the great work. I am new to all of this card making and scrapbooking I was buying different items to start doing cards and scrapbooking. But then there was a fire and a lost it all. Wish I were still able to work, but since I am it takes even longer to get the things I need to even get started. Enough about me,. Simon you keep up the great work and someday I hope to see Siomons arts and crafts stores on a building near me soon. Sincerely, Joseph Watson
Thanks for this! Haven’t been able to think of any other ways to use the re-inkers and these are great, especially the water brushes. Would an acrylic block work for the gel plate technique? I’ve not got any gel plates myself and can’t afford any more craft materials!
Will not work, but you can make your own gelplate, not expensive, there are tons of youtube video's, tried itmyself, but.. .. Did not hold up, but i guess i'm the only person in the world whot cannot make her own gellplate 😩, so had to buy one. Bought a mixed media plate, the Nellie's Choice one, is way cheeper than an original gell olate though.
I've been stamping since the early 90's and back then we were encouraged to always buy a reinker with an ink pad to protect your investment. I can tell you that I have pads from mfg that are gone and colours from current companies that were discontinued but I have the reinkers so I have protected my investment. Another reason, if you live outside of the US as I do it's hard and very expensive to get products oftentimes so instead of trying to get a reinker when the pad is getting dry and being concerned with trying to find it, delivery and more customs charges, order your reinker with the pad.
Bell Norton - what do the ball bearings do? Do they slow the release of the water at all? Maybe I just chose a bad water brush but the Aquash brushes seem to just let the water flow pretty heavily.😔
Hey sweet guy. You gotta slow down a bit. Us old ladies have trouble following along. Love your products and you are such a great teacher. You have an amazing career ahead of you. What are you gonna major in college.

Thanks Joseph! I am so sorry to hear that.
Hello. Be safe out there people. Love to all
I loved all the ideas! Great job!
I was impressed with making your own watercolor pens! Great idea, but I would need to get several more pens! 😊💲🙄
Thanks Elise! They are so much fun to color with. :)
awesome colors! thanks.
My favorite use was in the pens! I have a question about the stamp pad. How do you store it if you want to keep it for reuse?
AWESOME!
Awesome Colors Thanks!
Gerry Brown thanks so much, Gerry! :)
Great idea! TY. 😁 Use distilled water so it won’t mold!
Thanks for this! Haven’t been able to think of any other ways to use the re-inkers and these are great, especially the water brushes. Would an acrylic block work for the gel plate technique? I’ve not got any gel plates myself and can’t afford any more craft materials!

Hi Simon, I love the watercolour pens. Just out of interest, how many times on average do you think one reinker bottle would reink an inkpad?
Hi there! Maybe 7-10 times... it depends on how much ink you use. :)
Hi Simon! Love the tips and the cards😊 How do you fill the ink palette? Just fill with re-inker and let dry? Thanks! ♥️
I've been stamping since the early 90's and back then we were encouraged to always buy a reinker with an ink pad to protect your investment. I can tell you that I have pads from mfg that are gone and colours from current companies that were discontinued but I have the reinkers so I have protected my investment. Did you just put neat ink into the palet or diluted? I’m slightly confused also how do you store those pads you make so they don’t dry out?
what water brushes do you use for the reinker markers

Can you tell me, may Versa Mark ink be used with cold foiling? I don’t own a heat gun, and don’t want to at this point!
I found the tiny ball bearings on Amazon to put in the pen to help mix when shook.
Bell Norton - what do the ball bearings do? Do they slow the release of the water at all? Maybe I just chose a bad water brush but the Aquash brushes seem to just let the water flow pretty heavily.😔
Like a spray can or nail polish, helps to mix the contents. I have not seen any disruptions of the flow yet.
Hey sweet guy. You gotta slow down a bit. Us old ladies have trouble following along. Love your products and you are such a great teacher. You have an amazing career ahead of you. What are you gonna major in college.
😉
You can slow the speed down in the settings of the video. Hope that helps!
Mine is alcohol not water.
I love to watch your youtubes but please slow down. I cannot always understand what you are saying.
Thanks for the feedback Robina! :)
the sound quality could be better, tears my ears.
