Well, I wasn't planning on shedding any tears tonight, but here they are. I was planning on being a little critical. I'm a musician, not a great one but I can hold my own. Wow, I was surprised by the soul in this cover. I wish I could have been there to hear and feel this one! This cover, like the original, is very full of sound. Unlike GnR when they perform this song line, it's not always full or fulfilling. My hat is off to all of you for learning this song in short notice, holy hell that's beyond impressive. This is beautiful, thank you for putting this out into the world where it has blessed my ears with compounding beauty

I first heard him interviewed on Saturday Night Blues, on CBC radio, and fell in love with his music then. Seeing him live (and sitting about four rows from the front! woohoo!) sealed it for me. Amazing ....
I don't understand all the negative comments. This song is so hard to cover... the piano, strings, guitar solos.... man! It's a great thing that these musicians decided to try to do this! Of course, they are not GN'R - this band won't come back! It's not the same, but I'm glad that I could listen to this cover :)

I just discovered Amos the other week. I saw GNR as my first concert in 1988 when they opened for Aerosmith. I was 14 then. Something else to check out is Slash playing hotel California with Don Felder on you tube. This was an awesome cover

I dont know whether Amos made this his own or the song owned him , but I do know this , he left it as it was originally orchestrated, and let you know one more incredible unique voice sung his heart out on this one , and that's how he made it his own. Outstanding . He did Guns N Rose proud !!!

I have to tell you though, as a die hard Guns N' Roses fan, there was something missing from it. I do not mean Axl Rose either. As I listen to the original, I see the story play out in my head. When I heard yours, while I enjoyed it immensely, I did not get that effect. I wonder if anyone else experienced this as well?
This is epic...2:11-2:50 Amos owns this song. In that stretch he makes a good cover a great one. He owns it makes it his own. GNR was a great band with some great music in an era of fluff but voices do not compare. Amos is a needle in a haystack and his voice is an instrument. Thanks for posting this I was craving some new stuff after I played my Crow Flies EP into the ground.............Saw him front and center in Florida few months back at a small venue and it was amazing.....

incredible cover and to the persons comments about no stage presence or passion, hes not out to steel GNR's credit just sang it from the lyrics on the paper and he did an amazing job and sure that Amos would CRUSH it if he had more time to prepare for the song amos lee (best male vocalist) in a very very very long time but again its just an opinion but im sure a lot will share that with me
