    A very underrated group.
    Rest In Peace:
    Ronnie White (1939-1995)
    Marvin Tarplin (1941-2011)
    Bobby Rogers (1940-2013)

It's all very surreal how it's one member from legendary groups are left.😳 Smokey for the Miracles, Otis for the Temps,Duke for the 4Tops,Diana for the Supremes, Katherine for the Marvelletes,BarryGibb for BeeGees,ShirleyJones The Jones Girls...Ruth for the Pointer Sisters..unreal 😱

The Miracles were the first group signed to Motown. Claudette Robinson was dubbed as the first woman of Motown.

This is on the money! This is what I'm talking about! Smokey's best songs he wrote was when he was with the Miracles, no doubt about it. Thank you brother for doing this video you covered a lot, but it's so much more, we used to jam off of the Miracles songs.

You really got a hold on me, and the tracks of my tears, and baby, baby is still my Jams. I love the fact they kept him on the payroll, while he was in the army, now that’s some loyalty. Smokey is alright in my book. Without Smokey Love Machine was the bomb!! Another great Job, keep bringing us that fire 🔥

These three songs were later covered by other artists, including the Captain & Tennille with their remake of “Shop Around” in 1976. th-cam.com/video/mVJEJHi3daE/w-d-xo.html
Also, the Beatles did their cover of the Miracles’ hit “You Really Got A Hold On Me” from “The Beatles’ Second Album” in 1964. th-cam.com/video/9rokS8Ao4nQ/w-d-xo.html
And finally, Linda Ronstadt did a great cover of the Miracles’ hit “Ooo Baby Baby” and became a big hit in 1978. th-cam.com/video/zhkKVhEZV5k/w-d-xo.html

I patterned my voice after Smokey ever since I heard " I'll try something new" I have seen him live twice. Once at The Motown Review in Indianapolis, 1964 and again at Indiana State about 1972 after he put out "Special Occasion". I even got to shake his hand 'cause I was on the front row. I am still amazed at his pure genius in writing so many #1hits for so many artists.

I dont think The Miracles are underrated at all. Motown's first stars. Gave Motown they first #1 single period with Shop Around. The first Motown group to appear on American Bandstand. The only group that was able to write songs for other artists at Motown. The groups chemistry was so tight that once they went their separate ways they wasn't as successful as they were when they was a unit. Unlike Michael Jackson after he left The Jackson 5 or Diana Ross once she left The Supremes. Sure Smokey had a few solo hits, The Miracles hit #1 with Love Machine. But when you think of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles...you don't think of Crusin, Love Machine, you think Shop Around, Ooh Baby Baby, The Tears of a Clown, You Really Got a Hold on Me

    • @kayrobbie5840
      @kayrobbie5840 ปีที่แล้ว

I have to disagree with you about Smokeys solo career. I used to attend all of Smokey Robinson's concerts . Going back to when he was at the Apollo with the Miracles. Even after when he went solo. Cruising was the most requested song by the audience. Smokeys Quiet Storm album was so popular that WBLS radio station had a theme entitled "Quiet Storm". DeAngelo did a version of Cruisin. His solo career was just as popular as when he was with the Miracles.

Why do narrators ask you to “like” and “subscribe”
Before we have heard the presentation? Smh.

@@WBPTV That part is obvious. More followers (and potential income) for the narrator.
I should have said “Why should we “like” and “subscribe,” until we decide it is presented well?
It’s like buying a dress Before you see what it looks like after you’ve tried it on.
      Just saying.
