Disneyland "Did You Know?" - New Orleans Square

  • Here's a summary of some basic secrets, history and facts about New Orleans Square in Disneyland. There's SO much to cover in a land with this much history so here's the approach... I covered most ride trivia from a perspective of what you could observe from outside the ride. Obviously Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean have a crazy rich history in and of themselves and I'll cover those in depth when I go back with a better low-light camera. Also, I wanted to cover the basics everyone should know about this land up front, and if you like it, then I'll do another video doing a "Disneyland Deep Dive" with a lot of the lesser known trivia that the hard core Disneyland nerds love.
I'm not really a vlogger, this is my first shot at something like this, it felt weird talking to myself at Disneyland, but here it is...

Loved this! New Orleans Square has always been one of my favorite areas of Disneyland. Don’t laugh, but when I was a little kid, I truly believed I had somehow transported back in time to NOLA 😂 Thank you for all the “inside” information 💖

I'm 57 - same! First trip was in 1969-70@@WelcometoHappy My daughter and I just returned from a 1 day/no park hopping visit, Disneyland only, just like the "old" days 😂 Water side table for dinner at Blue Bayou was a bonus!

I like your tone and approach. If you'd possibly be interested in collaborating on something with some nerdy Disney parks podcasters who also like merging Disney stuff with (hopefully) some funny approaches we should talk. I won't mention the podcast name unless you express interest to prove I'm not just here to promote the said podcast. Also I'm not a bot.

Great info! I used to hang out with Imagineers David Mumford and Bruce Gordon (who wrote "Disneyland the Nickle Tour" book). I also knew Imagineer Tom Scherman, the expert on 20,000 Leagues (Tom designed the Nautilus walk through for DLP). Sadly, all three have passed away. BTW, the (now burned) DRR Freight Depot also appears in the Mr. Lincoln film "Two Brothers". I got to go to the old Club 33 in the 90s, invites from David Mumford. I prefer the old, Greek Revival Club 33 logo, to the newer Art Nouveau (which was less popular in the real NOS back in the day). Also note the "Disney Gallery" of the 1990s, where 21 Royal is. A wonderful place that also offered cake and coffee in the patio for guests to see Fantasmic. No worries...WDI is digging out the plans for the dragon (LOL, your reaction!)....

That’s awesome. The best info and stories always come straight from the source. I gotta check out that book.
