      Canvas Flipping - never knew that. I have flipped selections before but never knew about Canvas flipping and frankly I would never have thought of using it for reflections even if I knew of it's existence.

    Hi Blake. This is an astonishgly good tutorial and thank you very much for the free action which I know I will use, but I only ever use my own skies. I bought Luminar when it first came out and upgraded (re-purchased it) up to Luminar 4. I used it for the occasional sky replacement and nothing else. I never purchased the AI version because Photoshop added sky replacement and the Luminar AI version was poorly reviewed. But the latest version seems to have better reviews and I was thinking of purchasing it - just for sky replacements. Now I won't have to, so many thanks.

    Great tutorial, it was a lot to take in, (for me), but I needn't have worried as the PS Action worked a treat !!!
    🙂👍
    I had updated the Luminar AI software only the day before, and that had the *Replacement Sky & Reflections* too, but I must say that out of 6 images tried, all 6 failed miserably. ☹
    I tried the same images using my own 'skies' along with your PS CC Action Blake, and 5 out of 6 had excellent results !

    Thanks for the Action and skies. I noticed that in order to reposition the reflected sky I have to first turn off the upper sky group 'eye ball' first. Any idea why? Also if the sky I am replacing already had a lot of puffy white clouds before the replacement, the replacement sky allows some of the clouds to show through. Is this because your action used a 62 opacity value?

    • @f64Academy
      @f64Academy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, typically this is for images with no sky at all. In that case set the opacity to 100 and add contrast to the reflection instead.

      Nope. Lol. I can't deduce anything in a youtube comment. Please email me with screenshots and error messages.

    It's strange that the skies don't show up. The JPEGS are there, but when I try and install them they do not show up in the folder.

    One thing about artificial is, that replacing a sky in the first place is an artificial action using an artificial sky from the sky that's already present in your shot. Photographer's no longer have to take any sky they see as valid, changing the world makes us all gods, or does it?

    • @f64Academy
      @f64Academy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does when you spend thousands of dollars to travel to these places and you get poor skies! Trust me, I know! That sky could have been there, lol.

    Great info but your delivery is as if you just jugged a pot of coffee! Would appreciate if you slowed down a bit!

      @f64Academy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't drink coffee 🤣 I also won't slow down. There is a reason for my cadence. You can slow me down using the speed option in the play bar, or you can pause when necessary. A slower delivery = a very boring experience and neither you or I would enjoy that 😉

    fake skies in my photos?
    sounds weak in my humble opinion unless you share your creativity with "other" or sky contributed by other lol
    i just simply dont get it..... if i dont get that Fabulous sky, i take the best pictures i can in the moment and i will get that pure magic sky when its my time/ gees whats happening to real photography and PATIENCE in ones craft?

      Right, how about that three day trip where no skies come? This comes in handy if you are open minded to it. And those were real skies somewhere 😆

      @@f64Academy True, a photographer could keep a collection of great skies that they captured themselves for those situations. If you're shooting a great sunset, tilt the camera up to capture less of the foreground and add it to the collection.
