Really a rather unexpected Colossal, spellbinding undertaking.....BRAVI TUTTI d'Acapulco!

Very nice piece and excellent performance. This now adds one more piece to my list of repertoire I hope to play and perform someday soon.

This is the first time I hear of this composer and this octet, but I think that the performance and the interpretation are very good. I wonder if the names listed in the description refer to members of the Orpheus quartet or if they are the extra 4

Those names are the only info I have. I think those are the members of the Orpheus Quartet.

@@bartjebartmans Well, obviously, looking at the CD itself, these are the four other individuals to complete the Orpheus Quartet in this beautiful Octet (thanks for the discovery!! Very nice, I think it would be fun to play it!).
On top of that, searching for Orpheus quartet on internet, I found the name of the members : Mark Gothoni (Violin), Timothy Summers (Violin), Emile Cantor (Viola) and Laurentiu Sbarcea (Violoncello).
So now, the team is complete! Enjoy.

@@laurentpagani6502 well, obviously I don't have that CD. Thanks for the info though will add it.

@@bartjebartmans I don't either. Just searched on internet to see the CD sleeve. You did the hardest part which is to synchronize the score and the music. I could give you a hand for the players.

Interesting piece. But being an octet it is 'performed by the Orpheus Quartet [sic]'. Who where the other players? Or was this a two-track recording?

Title says 1850, but description says the Octet was written in 1877. Which one is it?

On IMSLP it says composed in 1849-50. 1877 was the year it was published.
