I know the outcome of this game and I STILL get anxious watching it. One of the best hockey games ever.
For you. I'm a sens fan and since this game they were garbage
Watching this, along with the 09 game 7 over Detroit.... I'm still on the edge of my seat watching them years later .... Even though I know we win
Everything changed for us at 20:33. Call me bitter but I have to wonder what the outcome would have been had Karlsson not given up on the first goal and had Andy not been screened on the last two@@flylogan2954
Doc is such a missed presence in hockey. When you heard his voice you knew that you'd be in store for an epic game
Really wish he would come back for the Cup Final. I was at that game 7 that place was absolutely insane
Seattle is the only team he never commented a game
I impulse bought a ticket to this game that morning. Best impulse purchase of my life.
Imagine being a Sens fan there. I nearly cried just watching it on tv.
@@BSBSPSensGirl88 equal and opposite reaction, I suppose.
This game right here, was the best non Stanley cup final in Pens history. So much on the line with this game. Once you saw them win this game, you knew they wouldn't lose to Nashville.
I remember standing in front of the TV, heart going a mile a minute, saying well they won last year, can’t win every year because Ottawa would not go away. After Kessel’s almost goal I felt good that they had the eye of the tiger
This was one of, if not the greatest game of hockey I have ever watched. There are other great candidates, such as the Hawks over Tampa in Game 6 2015.
Greatest commentator ever in hockey. makes the game so much more enjoyable
Ah that's close, but , I'll take Mike Lange!!!! And emerick would tell you the same!!!!!!!!!!
@@brentonyancheck4861 Clown
I remember watching this game, when one team scored, the opposing team scored right after, this was truly an outstanding game
I still miss mike emricks voice alot and still brings me chill up till today.
I remember coming to this game when I was 14 - Best day ever.
and now you're turning 18 or already 18! time flies

Watching this now hurts even more than it did at the time
I've never felt so bad watching my team win a series. When Kunitz put that shot in the goal my stomach dropped.
@@malleus30 Anderson just freezing and with these good cameras you could see his face like ‘please tell me that didn’t go in. No way, right? It went up, right?’
@@countof3everybodyOD I'm a goalie too. He was definitely thinking that as well as " I just let my team down."
This Ottawa Senators team was so different..........
They fell off real quick and real hard.
20:33 the moment that the Ottawa Senators Franchise has Ended
I’m not even a sens fan and this is soul crushing
The it game 6 goal in 2018 will be the penguins version of that
Ikr
Pittsburgh Countryballs not anymore
Greatest sporting event I ever had the privilege to attend! Thank you Pittsburgh and thank you to the NHL for giving me this memory I will forever cherish.
21:38 just look at Anderson's eyes. I can't even imagine what was going through his head in that moment
This game nearly gave my a fuggin heart attack
I was actually sweating during the OT periods even while sitting in my air conditioned room. Felt like my heart was coming through my chest!
This game hurts me even years later
Gives me goosebumps every time. I believe Kunitz hasn’t scored in something like 22 games before this game. He was just charging up!
Edit: after looking it up it was 29 games Kunitz went without a goal before this game.
I can still hear it perfectly in my head every time I think of this game: "Kunitz a shot, he SCOREESSS.... Penguins win it! and they're going to the final!"
That haunted me for a while.
@BSBSPSensGirl88 there is nothing worse in sports Fandom than being on the wrong side of one of these moments. As a New York Jets fan I feel your pain, but thank you for your comment bringing me back to this moment in Penguins history 😊
the greatest series and game of my life
Welcome to Pittsburgh EK65😊
Weird knowing that now Murray is a Sen
Ceci too.
Unfortunately playing like one
@@michaelfreeland2791 Learn to come up with a proper hockey roast.
@@michaelfreeland2791 *Not* playing like one.
Definitely a forgotten classic
NHL Hockey isnt the same without Doc.....it really isnt. Him and Gary Thorne made you FEEL hockey.
Kunitz's goal destroyed the Senators franchise
man oh man what a game. would’ve hated to be a sens fan on that night
:(
This has to be the most wasted team ever. 2017 sens will be missed
What do you mean the penguins playoff streak is broken? Kunitz just scored! We are going to the finals again!
That game winning shot had some serious movement for a puck. 5-6 inches. I don’t think it was touched either. A Knuckle shot.
Right before everything changed in Ottawa
lol
I like 2.0 sens now
Это обалденный хоккей обеих команд Оттава была в высшем составе от капитана до голкипера приятная команда два от. и 7 изнурительных игр но К. Куниц был на высоте и команда его тоже не подвела!
20:33: When everything in the Sens' organization changed.
Pretty glad to be at this game.
The game that broke the Senators
Шикарная игра, Оттава молодцы
fucking love this game still
Where was this noise in the islanders series last year? It was so pathetic, literally one of the worse sell out crowds. Hope once the pens make the playoffs this year again, the crowd will be as loud as this
been following this team since 2005 and i have to say that loudness in playoff games has on average slowly dropped with each consecutive year we make the playoffs. You take a fanbase that never makes the playoffs and they're going to be a lot rowdier and more pumped than the team who always makes and wins the quarterfinals and treats it like another 7 regular season games. 09 vs flyers and red wings was maybe the loudest I've heard them personally, but that was back when we had the igloo and I think sound rattled around better in there :D
Why are the Detroit Red Wings hashed tagged right above the title of this video? lol
19:42 listen to announcer
hahaha
Anderson way too deep in his net on the GWG
And was screened.
Rename: Kunitz destroys the senators dreams and only chance to win the cup
No. Predators would've win
@@xlr0gd205 LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO No
@@BerserkGuitarist I've changed my mind. But It'd be close
*NHL Classics*
Just rub my age in my face why dont you sheesh
And that one goal ruined the sens franchise :(
Now Norris tkachuk jimmy stu chabot Sanderson Forsberg chykren giroux kubiliK they will be good btw butchered half the names lol
Sens lost cause a foward played out of his zone, which caused the goalie to not see the puck coming
And Pageau didnt block it.
SO YOURE NOT EVEN GOING TO REPLAY THIS? You're reairing classic nhl games this week and not even going to re aire pens vs Sens.
Nice job nbc. 🤦♂️
4 downvotes on this video. Probably one by a Sens fan.... and 3 by Flyers fans.
This Flyer fan is adding a other.
Lol
Yahooo
11:48 is it really considered as a clean hit?
11:41 is that really not a penalty shot?
Good game, but overrated game. People act like this is the best game 7 ever.
Sad Sens fan here. Any game 7 that goes into double overtime is a classic, so i wouldn't call it overated.
Best game 7 was Boston coming back down 4-1 in the last 11 minutes to break the hearts of millions of leaf fans. (I may be biased on this one)
That was glorious. I remember the camera zooming in on Jagr after Toronto scored the 4th goal with ten minutes left and you could see him saying "it's not over yet."@@Boberman286
