I’m thinking about start using it, I’ve been suffering extreme anxiety & weird loop’s of weird combinations of thoughts like a net of complexed knots that makes no sense, yet, gets well connected to a point it becomes & feels realistic enough for me to consider it as a reality. Meanwhile, doubts start knocking on the weakest pillar of my personality that i may or may not observe then i go there then it gets worst then i panic then start mumbling & repeating words that i think it makes me calm but the more i repeat the more i stay in this ruthless hurricane of just constant battles i can’t win . It’s weird & scary but i know it will get better one day.
    We will get better.

My personal experience has some points similiar to the ones described in the video. 2 first years of medication were fine and it did made me stable. After that, it started to get tricky. i felt quite "dumb", my ability to concentrate almost disapered and i needed to sleep A LOT.
Right now i off meds, and it is awesome to feel smart and like myself again. However, i know that i am one of those people who might need it again (and thats fine).

      1. Are you exercising regularly and on a way that challenges you?
      2. Are you practicing any sort of meditation? If not do so
      3. Do some cold exposure
      4. What are you eating?
      5. Write down some affirmations that you say to yourself at least 5 times a day. For example one can be:
I’m in control of my mind and I stay positive. I accept sometimes I will feel negative but I stay mentally strong and grind through it

Very interesting, thank you for sharing your experience. I am at a point where I seriously consider medication for depression and anxiety. In fact, I have already started with St John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), which is a herbal antidepressant that has shown comparable efficacy to SSRIs in scientific studies, while having fewer (if any) side effects (it is sold in pharmacies). I have never felt so bad in my life, despite trying my very best to have a good lifestyle. I sleep enough, have a good job, work out several times a week, which I have done for many years... sometimes depression just hits you like a brick, and right now I'm tumbling.

I have another video on St John’s wort and I found it to be pretty helpful. I’m sorry to hear about your mental struggles. All I can say is I’ve been there. It sounds like you’re living a good lifestyle and I’m not really sure what to say apart from maybe accept the depression if part of your mental life cycle? Of course I don’t know you and this is just my opinion but have you considered any other factors/ things you could change to shock your system? Specific fitness goals, cold exposure or anything similar. I know it’s not as simple as that and I don’t want to come across patronising by for me SSRIs weren’t the answer. I like you loved well and still felt really bad a lot of the time but after my struggles with psoriatic arthritis which I’ve done videos about it changed my perspective and I don’t struggle that much anymore. I wish you well on your journey

@@liftingoutofthelows1341 Thank you so much, you're a kind person. I will check out the video you mentioned. Indeed I have issues in my life, but I always thought I could deal with them somehow, and I've usually considered that other persons are so much worse off than I am. However, I now believe that my thinking patterns may be seriously flawed and probably need crucial adjustment, despite generally functioning well. I've honestly had pretty good times in my life, but I've always felt deep down that something is wrong. I can relate to your health issues, I've my share of those myself and this may have caused me to finally tip over the edge, so to speak. Right now I am looking at psychotherapy and hope this help me. I had a surgery recently and once I am fully recovered from that I'll start going to the gym again. Physical activity helps tremendously.

      Hey mate,
      1. Yes i would say I'm recovered now
      2. Yes i get depression episodes sometimes but feeling depressed is part of life and you have to get on with it. Your mind has to be more powerful than your feelings. Don't let negative emotions stop you doing what you have to because then you're really fucked
      3. I always had periods of feeling depressed from when I was around 12
      4. Yes you can cure it. Take positive action and your mind can overcome your feelings. It's hard but that's life

Fluoxetine at the 2010s for depression/anxiety was like ritalin for ADHD back in the 90s
I was also on it two times. The numbness thing made it so that we could not experience the highs and lows of life - and learn how to deal with them as adults. And when psychologiets/psychiatrists ask you how you feel and you say "numb"/struggle to explain, they get frustrated and keep you on their meds.
They are experimenting on the population en masse but insulate themselves from the known (and should have known) consequences.

I experienced a period of zombieness where I did really well academically but could not tell you any of the course content for that period despite being able to clearly recite the course content before and after being on it - including during bouts of extreme depression where I pushed through and still did my study.
When you brought up the blurry vision thing is when I went "wow, yeah I also experienced that and any normal person would think experiencing that is messed up".

Good video, I'm thankful that there are antidepressents that can help when in big trouble, I've been on prozac twice and it does really help.
I find the depression always comes back, I'm off prozac now but I keep some in the cupboard just incase of emgercy.
I think of it like if you needed antibotics for a tooth infection , you would take or suffer for longer hoping it clears up.
Situations like this can cost you your job and relionship, then you will feel far worst.

"taking pills arent the answer" Let me correct you by stating that this is YOUR opinion. You're not a doctor, but a yoga instructor. Speak for youself because this has been a god send for me any millions of folks around the world.
With that being said, I'm happy to hear you're doing well so far. I dont know why you keep deleting my comments though ? Is it wise to take medical advice from a yoga instructor on youtube? Should you consult a qualified medical professional instead? So many questions.

    • @liftingoutofthelows1341
      @liftingoutofthelows1341  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Depending on the condition 98% of the time they aren’t the answer. I think people need to take accountability for their feelings. Too many people are taking them. More than 1 in 10 people take them in the USA and I think that’s down to bad lifestyle habits rather than a chemical imbalance. And they may of worked for you (that’s great) but for some people they’re taking them and they’re not helping and they’re still living a poor lifestyle
