Ya we ( @andythraxxmining and I ) are in the works of putting a small permit in this ground to test the bench for exactly this !!! Keep ya posted if our results-
@@CanadianGoldMining Cool. Can't wait to hear. Also, tell Andy I still have not heard back from him if he wants the old BC books I offered him for FREE. LOL
Thank you so much for the education. I've only been panning for 3 years on Rosella Creek. I think I have visited every posting from BC regarding gold panning and mining. I look forward to more.
Nice to see some gold, garnets and black sand in the pan. Looks like there are some intriguing possibilities after the floods on Mission Creek. Probably lots of old channel material hasn't been touched - if people are willing to grab more speculative material further away from the creek.
yes for sure.. although most of this creek is inna park /native land and outside the placer stakign area... fund place to go play though... Thanks for the support Eh
Sweetness ...so glad you like it ... Right in my backyard ..Gotta start going more offen :) ... Cant wait for Spring!! heavy pans , thx for the support and see ya in 2022
My grandad always went way up above the falls somewhere. Always secretive about it. I gotta give ur first bend there a pan. Show the kids some gold. Nice to visit my ol stompin grounds.
I believe the old channel and maybe even Mclean's lost mine, meantioned by bill Barlee does run above the falls as well ..although most ( including what Ive tried..so far ) say that the gold stops at the falls.I think the old channel must run up above Mission creek and perhaps comes out on some higer benches/in some tributaries on its way south. They also say some of the gold people find in Rock creek ( definitely two diffenrent types/colours of gold found up there) has the same look as mission creek gold and that is it very possibly a glacial channel or an OLD ancient river that runs all the way ...Thanks for the comment !! I wanted to get up above the falls and do more exploring and this definitetly gets me pumped :) Stoked you enjoyed the video ...(ps an old timer told me of gold on a tributary of mission creek above the falls as well ..since I cant chase every lead I will share and say .. it was apparently near / above Three Forks ) .... Happy Prospecting !!!
@CanadianGoldMining that's awesome.! Stories like these get me and my pan back out. my dad thinks granddad went looking up tributaries aswell past the first main bridge up bug. I hunt hunt up there on bug frst .maybe the same story but apparently granddad knew of a native prospector that'd come down from there with gold nuggets and went trying to find it. He never said if he found it r not. The perfect old gold tale right! can see quite a few tributaries on the map above when I hunt. gotta remember my pan this deer season.. So much I haven't seen up there. Enjoy yourself up there!. Great video!
@@jonasaurasrex we are def on the same page !!! ...Bug creek is EXACTLY where i was told and looked as well but didnt find anything that trip !!! Has to be some truth to it ... I still gotta get my tags for the year as well !!! Gluck man !!
good stuff..as a bc resident myself i know the pain of south bc...but dam that flooded some nice chunkies right into your pockets :) awesome and great , cool channel :)
You got that right! I was surpised for just the top layer like that !!....But now she's all frozen up for a while... sigh... thanks for the support and so glad you like the channel.. Take Care Eh
Love that you didn’t bother to classify! I wash all the rocks coming out of the ground in my pan… takes longer and harder on the fingers after a day digging, but if ANY flakes stick to a stone, they get tossed away when classifying (I see it ‘dun hard’ with haste all the time on channels)
Ya and less to bring along - for a few pans/ prospecting I like to do it just with a pan and like you said get a good look at all the material and anything glued to the rocks - I did an experiment once where I took all the larger rocks with clay/dirt that came up in my classifier into a bucket of water and washed them all down at the end of the day and there was definitely more gold then I expected - cleaning those rocks is so important
@@CanadianGoldMining side note: The oxbows of the mission are online in a city archive … all of the land from Gertsmar and the park then straight along Springfield to the mall, west-south-west to Gyro and down to the H2O centre was flood plain… and then ended up meandering around Creekside Pub and emptied into the Lake - Someone who wanted an arial scene of how to plan the township sent someone with a camera in someone’s hot air ballon. If only time travelling was a thing! Or better yet - if a person could claim mineral rights to land under a residential property within the city limits…. There are too many ‘natural’ anomalies to the way this Town is laid out with its streets to not see all of the oxbows and the way the Mission flowed!
