Perhaps you could use silicone to create a mold and layer fabric with your monster mud? Could be pretty cool!

The wire and board hand 'skeleton' sandwiched between foam is how a lot of posable puppet hands are made.

Can these be for outdoor props ?
If you wanted to use these outdoor I'd coat them with monster mud just to make them weather resistant.
Out of curiosity, what is the brand of clay foam you use?
It's the only one they sell at hobby lobby. It just says foam clay on the container, not sure what the brand is.
