It’s not a doll, you can see her mouth moving when she says “but my mummy likes them” so there’s no way it could be a doll. Also her knees were bending while she was spinning her. The blackout was so that she wouldn’t spin her for that long
So basically, put there hands at the base of the pigtail and put pressure on the head, and the girl holds on to the trunchbulls wrists and they run into the swing. It's kind of confusing but if you look closely you can see what i'm talking about.

How did the Trunchbull character pick up the girl and spin her around? By the coat? where?
The one I worked on used a harness hidden under her dress. There were straps at her shoulders attached to her pigtails.
