SOME RESCUES IN ACRO PARAGLIDING - THEO DE BLIC

  • In this video I showcase some of the rescues I had to throw while training Acro flying, of course among my 16 rescues (so far...) there are not all there, some where lost in hard drives, so I did not have a camera on... But these are the most interesting ones.
Throwing your rescue is a normal process of training acro paragliding and there is no shame in it. I spent my life trying to show that it's ok to throw your rescue and it's better than crashing without it.
Because I was using a lot of rescues I searched for many years what's best system could be. I tried them all, round, square, base systems... And rogallos. To me the rogallos is the best reserve canopy on the market right now and among the rogallos I have been using the Beamer3 from High Adventure for the past 5 years. It's the very best product on the market as you can see in the video.
It's easy to use, easy to handle, opens nicely and most importantly is very reliable!
If you want to learn more about rescues check this speech I did for NOVA paragliders : • NOVA Insights #2 - The...
    Check the Beamer3 here :

Thanks, Theo, for this very interesting video.
We admire how controlled you deploy your reserve and it's a pleasure to see how well the BEAMER performs.
Still, we hope that there won't be many more deployments. Fly safely, please!

02:58... I guess falling into the glider has the advantage that you've already collected the canopy! 😅 Stay safe and thanks for sharing!

In rescue 13. you could have caught your reserve bag as it flew by. But I guess you have a few spares on hand :-). Great video as always, stay safe.

    Conclusion :
    Quand tu es parapentiste professionnel,
et que tu fais de l'accro, en plus, le Beamer 3
n'est pas une option, mais un excellent choix !!!
Excellent Post, merci Théo....Et bonnes aptitudes

Very impressive. The low altitudes ones in particular should be shared because meters/time go so fast!!! As a cross pilot, this is definitely eye opening, thank you theo. Also quite impressive you keep sending it despite all thoses experiences.

This is really useful, to see real rescue situations and how to handle them. I found your discussion about reserve throwing on the Cloudbase Mayhem podcast really useful too.
Why did your base system fail in the first one? I'm new to acro and am taking it really slow, but I want to start training over ground to get more practice in. I was thinking to get a base system (and do a skydiving course to learn to use it properly) but it's expensive, maybe a beamer 3 as my main reserve is good enough.

We only recommend it to acro pilots who use them regularily. For "normal" pilots the other options (better a sqare than a round one) are usually safer...

So, beamer 3 doesn't need to detach the main wing, that's good news, I have B3 but never used. I was always thinking about quick release like a problem in case of rescue...
