    - The missing child's distraught parents made an emotional appeal for information on TV.
    Cheers from Brasil.

    Thank you, it is complicated but understandable by the way of your great explanation. I wonder that what is the reason of this difference between pronunciation and writing? Is it possible to explain it in terms of historical development of English language and also effects of the other languages to English language. I look forward to receiving your valuable comments.

    Hello! I teach English as well. I think those letter groups come from Old English. Remember, English is a Germanic language that became infused with a lot of Latin, particularly French. For example, the word "right" in English (as in "correct") is "richtig" in German. You can see the correlation.

    Great video
    I have a big difficulty in saying correctly the words lock and luck.
    They sound so similar
    Could you mention these words on one of your future videos?
    I'll be grateful

    • @lemonadebraids
      @lemonadebraids 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, but I'm going to explain it to you as best I can.
      For lock, you say it like L(OCK) (if you know how to say 'flock', think of it that way, without the F at the beginning).
      For luck, you say it like L(UCK) (think of the word 'yuck', only instead of a Y, replace it with an L).
      Hope this helps :-) Good luck with learning English!
