I love this! I have been wanting to make a jig (not really sure how) or purchase one so I can do Christmas ornaments & sun catchers, cats (of course), ect.. I'm new to wirework and there are so many different ways to go with it, I love your tutorials and videos, thanks for the inspiration!

I'm curious about the nails you use for the ear formation. The plate I have seems to be milled differently and there is very little room between the super peg and holes to put the two nails between the ears. I tried using small nails with very small heads but the wire tends to just slide up and off. Your nails look to have more robust heads to stop this from happening. What type of nail are they?
Thanks for asking. I use finishing nails but you can also use straight pins for sewing.

What size wire are you using?

You can make these with 18 g wire. If you want to make them bigger for an ornament use 16 g. If you want for a pendant you can use 20g

Heather, what kind of wire did you use here?
I"m using 1.2 mm aluminum wire. You can use 18 or 16 gauge copper wire or generic craft wire if you like!
@@HeatherBoydWire I got some 20mm aluminum wire, but I think it might be too light. Maybe I can twist it together to make it stronger?
@@pbunn79 do you mean 2mm? That sounds thick! If it's 20 gauge that would be too thin!
